Contacts
[ Spoiler ]
Paulo Ramirez, Running Motors Gangmember [Connection 2/Loyalty 2] - This is a 'friend' from the old neighborhood, a somewhat older kid that Tristan used to pal around with before they moved out of the Barrens. That was years ago, and while they're not as close as they used to be, they have kept in touch. Now he's a bit of a hotshot in the Running Motors, and has made the occasional offer to get Tristan an introduction, if he's still interested. Could be a useful contact.
Papa Gotcha, Fixer [Connection 3/Loyalty 1] - Tristan was introduced to this local fixer relatively recently by one of his mentors at the dojo. When Tristan is ready, this man might be able to get him some real work.
Audrey Morningtrout, Investigative Reporter [Connection 2/Loyalty 1] - Tristan met Audrey when she was doing a piece on the hardships that local ork families have moving out of the Barrens and into 'normal' society. He's not sure if she was flirting with him just to get a better story or what, but he kept her contact information and occasionally supplies her with info about under the radar abuses or local gang activity over coffee. There's no reason why the exchange of information during these "dates" can't go both ways.

Background
[ Spoiler ]
Tristan is the oldest child of working class wage slaves who busted their ass to get out of the Barrens and into a safer, better (if back-breaking) life for themselves and their children. They kill themselves day in and day out for The Man, and are rewarded with wages just this side of slavery and no hope for advancement. Dad's an auto mechanic, and mom works in an industrial laundry. But it's honest, and it's clean. The kids are going to school - a real school - they're off the streets, and they even have SINs! Sure, the other kids (and even the faculty - sometimes *especially* the faculty) at school can be racist pricks, and sure their kids have to work twice as hard to get half the respect, but when they're done, they'll have a chance at a real life - maybe one day one of them will be the shop foreman, or a shift supervisor at the laundry. Just dream of it, chummer!
Meanwhile, the kids from the old neighborhood just over the other side of the tracks are growing up gangers and criminals; living flashy, seductive lives of easy money, souped up bikes, casual violence and infinite bravado. Tristan grew up right in the middle, torn between the two competing futures presented to him. As he entered puberty and started to simultaneously resent the life his parents lead (and want him to lead) and become useful enough to the less savory elements in the old neighborhood to get a taste of the real rewards of that life, his parents increasingly worried that he would make the 'wrong' choice. And then he Awakened and suddenly all the stakes went up by several orders of magnitude.
Adepts are still banned from most of the professional sports, and the local parents didn't want their kids playing with/against that 'wizzed-up trog' anyway, but that doesn't mean Tristan didn't suddenly have people tripping over each other to knock on his door. Of course, the gangers in the old neighborhood were suddenly much more interested, and started showering him with (relative) privilege to bind him more tightly to them. Worse, so were the underwold cartels that pull their strings. And then there's the corps. No less than three of the megas sent recruiters to his parents' door, offering to pay them handsomely for the 'rights' to their son. Desperate to keep him away from the gangs and cartels, unwilling to sell him like chattel to the souless, faceless corps, and too resentful themselves to hand him over to the government that has done them dirty their entire lives, his parents pulled what few strings they have to get him accepted by a local dojo run by a legitimate street legend from the old days. If their son cannot live a decent life away from crime and violence, let him at least learn to be on the 'right' side of it.
And so that's how Tristan found himself apprenticed to a man who retired from the shadows a long time ago - who no longer has the chops, the contacts or the gear to make it on his own, but who still knows a thing or two about how to survive that world, and how to use Tristan's newfound talents to that end. The culture of the dojo is pretty old school, and that suits Tristan just fine - he's even begun cultivating a samurai outlook, fancying himself a more modern version. A street sam without all the gears and wires. Just pure, unadulterated ork reflexes and muscle. Tristan likes that. The Bushido code gives him purpose and a direction to apply all that talent, and he likes that too. He's got some decent gear that he's collected as hand-me-downs and refurbished used items, and he figures he's ready to put some of these skills to use. Now he just needs to figure out a way to make it pay the bills.
Tristan makes a striking figure, trying to combine the samurai pride of appearance with his limited means and previous life-long wannabe thugishness. As a result, he is typically dressed in a decent pair of slacks and a shirt, but with the sleeves rolled back and the collar unbuttoned to reveal full arm and chest tattoos of rampaging dragons, flames and tigers. There's almost always a sleek Colt American tucked behind his back in a concealed holster, and an extendable baton in a pocket. Over it all, he's often wearing his trademark black and red armored riding jacket, and has recently begun adding a massive Ruger revolver strapped to one hip balanced by an honest to goodness katana on the other if he expects trouble, or just wants to make an impression. Combat boots with a nasty looking knife tucked into one completes the outfit.
I can add all the background stuff we've discussed previously, Koekepan, but that's the game mechanic stuff. It should be 300 BP on the button.
