TinkerGnome
[ Spoiler ]

If he spots IC while scanning for files, he'll ditch right then.

QUOTE (Fenris)
Bearclaw - A basic drawing of what? The house? The grounds? Interior?

Yes biggrin.gif
tisoz
If no one else is doing a general matrix search (google type search) on Versuvio, assume I did one from the hotel.
Fenris
Who's doing the search?
Simple, standard, or detailed?
Keeping a low profile?
Have the appropriate knowledge skill? If so, at what rating?
Using a deck, cold assist, or a terminal?
Checking specific databases or just the general Matrix?
Etiquette?
Matrix contacts?

And roll your computer. I'll let you know what information you find.
tisoz
If no one else is going to do it:

I am just doing the equivalent of putting his name into 'google' and pushing go. Just wanting to see if he has been in the news type of thing.

Very simple
Not interacting with anyone

edit:

I didn't take the computer illiterate flaw so I'm assuming I can do this.

I realize Raton is busy with 'real' work, but I was hoping someone else might want to have something to do. Not being bossy, just letting others get a chance to play. smile.gif
TinkerGnome
If you poke the decker, he can do a real search on it. He's just a little busy right now with real work wink.gif

Raton waits an hour or so (possibly doing that info search in the meantime, probably TN 2 for a simple search, 14 05 03 03 02 02 01 01). After that, he dives back in and tries to grab that file again. If the probe shows up or is still active, he'll press on if he thinks he can get the file quickly.

Take another point of karma, everyone. Also, I just started a new job, on the late shift, so I'll be posting in the morning and early afternoon from now on.
Bearclaw
If I had any computer skill at all, I'd consider doing the search, but I can go to Google and type in the guys name.
tisoz
How do we get to spend this Karma? Just tell you what we'd like to raise?
Fenris
And use the training rules from Shadowrun companion.
Nikoli
Just had an idea guys, the guards seem to use an IFF system, either so as not to shoot each other, or more likely, so the automated guns don't shoot them. what, do you think a rtg 10 jammer would do to a whole bunch of IFF transmitters that out of the box have like a flux of around 3?
paul_HArkonen
cause more than enough confusion for us to get in?
Nikoli
Well, if Maru is to fulfill the role of cavalry, I gotta think of these things to save hoop
tisoz
Replacing Moe, Larry and Curly at the end of 3 hours.
[ Spoiler ]

Get a report from Eenie, Meenie, Minie and Buck. Replace Eenie, Meenie, Minie with Tom and Dick, have Harry join Buck. Same orders.
TinkerGnome
Search for data on the host relating to the cooking/gardening staff. Specificly looking for a way to run some new hires into the system.

[ Spoiler ]

Wow, my die roller hates me. As before, if there's IC and he's more than 2 tests from done, he'll split.
tisoz
Looks like everyone is still playing. Want to flesh out a plan? Let others know what you can contribute skill-wise and/or gear-wise?

Token - Spirit assistance, spells: Fashion - resemble guards or staff, Levitate, Imp Invisibility, Vehicle Mask, Treat, Stun Bolt, Detect Camara and weapon detector, Mist, Animate, Hot Potato, Firewall

See, I'm not kill crazy either.

I do have one big, loud revolver.

Stealth, Etiquette, Negotiation are good enough.

I'd suggest going about an hour after dusk or dawn, so that I can conjure some spirits at my home, rest off any drain, and then get there. I haven't got a problem going in astrally either, but I would prefer to do that from home to get the benefit of astral barriers.
Nikoli
Stealth, Negotiation, infiltration, cooking and athletics

Jamer, ultrasound spoofing, scuba
paul_HArkonen
asault rifles, demolitions and a body of 17, yeah that about sums up what i can do to help. yeah sneaking no go, cavalry i can stand there and get hit as well as dish back out plenty.
tisoz
I like the idea of going in as cooks or groundskeepers, however, it looks like the info to do so is not going to be made available.

If we go with putting out a camara/sensor, intercept the call and go in as service techs, I would suggest going at night. It could be the justification for more than a one or two man repair crew.

I see transportation as being a major problem. Of the 6 guys, only two have stated they have a vehicle. Mine is still transponder equipped so is not a very useful getaway vehicle. Two guys have been hitching rides with me, so I'm guessing they have no wheels. No one has said they have much of a vehicle skill either.

Where the heck is Raiko/Pretorian and his ork rigger? Can we add a rigger still? It was discussed earlier and everyone pretty much agreed we wanted one, but none ever materialized.

[edit] Ditto not making avaiilable info on number and magical ability of those in guard houses. They must live in there with all the comforts of home.

I think we're supposed to go in with no intel and a halfbaked plan and die. I'm ready. sarcastic.gif [/edit]
Bearclaw
Sorry I'm late. I was out of town for a long weekend smile.gif
Lee has unreasonably high stealth, as well as electronics skills and the gear to go with each. He's got some social skills, but they're more at a not appearing to be an ass level, rather than a selling ice cubes to Eskimos level. Oh, he also has magic, especially illusions and manipulations, and spirits. He has a squirt, which he's OK with. Not the kind of thing you want to plan around, but OK in a pinch.

He's willing to go along with any plan that doesn't involve dead people. I realize the plans he's put forth pretty much center around him, but that's the way he thinks. I'm not trying to muscle anyone else out of the action, but Lee's used to working with a smaller team for specific jobs, rather than a more general purpose team with diverse skills.
TinkerGnome
Raton's preference would be to remain offsite if at all possible. He can provide a dataline tap with a transmitter which can be used for decking internal systems from a distance. There should be a way to use that to get whatever internal systems are being used attached to the house host, through which he can deck. Besides which, we really need someone inside who can deal with cameras and alarms... and sneaking inside just so he can hide in a broom closet for the whole endeavour seems like a lot of work for little benefit.
Bearclaw
Lee's got plenty of electronics skill to hook up your tap. I can't see that being a problem, as long as we don't fire up the ECM anyway.
Nikoli
Echo the no bodies if possible plan, though chances are, failing the Yakuza may constitute putting you life in jepardy, thus bypassing the wording of the pacifist flaw (not the spirit, just the wording)

I have lots n lots of heavy pistol gel rounds if anyone needs them. Though i recommend some normal or better ammo for dealing with the critters.
tisoz
So we have 2 pacifists and an offsite decker. A troll meat wall and a shaman. Is Countdown still around?

Who wants to go in with Lee? Looks like Maru-san, Irving and/or Token. I was thinking of having Irving ready as a diversion after things go wrong.

I'm really leaning toward the pacifists if we can only get 2 people in. Then they aren't arguing with Irving or Token about lethal/non-lethal force. smile.gif
TinkerGnome
Offsite/onsite isn't important when you need the decker working from the moment the mission starts. A meat body inside the place is a liability more than anything else.
tisoz
That's fine by me. I think you need to be the first person "in" anyway, keeping an eye on things. Can't really wait to get a jackpoint installed.
Nikoli
The only time that it may become a problem is if I have to use the jammer. then you link might be severed (depending on the link).
TinkerGnome
Well, the house has a host that's accessible from the Matrix. I don't even know that there are systems which can be Matrix controlled on a seperate system. In theory, you could simply use two dataline taps and a piece of fiberoptic cable to create an illegal gateway between the two systems.
Nikoli
Hence the qualifier. There is almost always a way around, if you're willing to work at it. just imagine the havoc that would cause with IC on both systems.
paul_HArkonen
I've been out of touch because my computer died I'm going to be back to posting this saturday, i hope, when i do i have a long shopping list that i need to work out with Fenris, I'll also catch up with the plan at that time too.
Fenris
Hi guys! wink.gif Unless there's something time sensitive going on right this minute, I'll be bumping the thread up a couple of hours (say 6?) tomorrow afternoon.
Fenris
Alright guys, it's obvious that interest in this thread has died, so it's closed.
