You say that now, but when my next character starts a mob war...

That's different, though. She actually has a measurable IQ. grinbig.gif

Probably true enough. But they could at least compete.

I'm still a bit miffed at our GM nixing a guy's aformentioned NAN character with throwing/tomahawk 4/6 and interrogation anthill 5/7.
The GM said the more he played up the Native American stereotype the more Lone Star was going to play up it's Texan stereotype, right up to the squad car mounted MMG and dual Thunderbolts loaded with exploding APDS.

You're thinking of the shaman. I'm never going to get to play her, and she's just annoying, not dangerous.

Now, as for my viciously anti-Japanese phillipino arnis de mano adept... He already has hunted 2 from a background incident where he knifed a Yakuza member.

O_o;;

What IS arnis de mano, anywho?

Ah. Thanks. Figured as much, but wasn't sure...

My favorite fixers are Tony from Léon el professionale and Nate from Heat.

Tony doesn't get involved with anything except running Supreme Macaroni - his store front. But he connects the right people together. Or the wrong people if you look at it that way. "I'm like a bank, only better, because banks ask all those questions and banks get knocked off. Nobody knocks off old Tony". He makes money from those he can and he folds and spills the beans when his life (and family and business) are threatened. He helps others out but he's no martyr.

Nate has all the connections and can pull a lot of strings. He's more loyal than Tony and even does a favor by getting a little bit involved in the mess. Driving people around etc. But mostly he is on the phone getting his 'orders' then he goes away and cooks up the solution before providing it neat and tidy to the client / friend.

Brill might have made a good fixer if he hadn't been such a cowardly hermit and if Dean hadn't made that fatal phonecall...

You also forgot Waingro's unnamed bartender, who gives him the contact with the bodyguard. In fact, that's the perfect example of someone earlier referred to as a "talent agent" or a "connector".

In fact, anybody who has to deal with the public a lot, like bartenders and hotel concierges, could be a fixer.
