Smartlink 2 is not backwards compatible. I could just install the smartlink 1 system, and have a spare pair of goggles handy at all times.

OK so page 151, SR3 says you use the appropriate skill as long as the weapon isn't mounted so i'll put the last 3 bp's into Assault Rifle/ Ak97: 2/ 4, if thats sweet. I'll buy the gun later unless there is any cred left over Sandoval, cause i'm broke now. I'm looking to spend about 4,000 and thats for an AK-97 with a gas vent and laser sight

The problem with firing something like an automatic rifle that's not mounted on anything is that you don't get any recoil comp from having it mounted (I think you might also suffer double recoil penalties), and I think it requires a driving test to make sure that you don't crash when you fire.

Yeah looks like you +2 Tn modifier for an unmounted weapon, doesn't look like there are any further penalties from recoil though, or a skill test required. So i might go with this option.

I'd still recommend gunnery for versatility. Then, you are able to use your base score for just about any mounted weapon, from an assualt rifle up to the venerated Panther Assualt Cannon.

That, and although I can't find it, I could've sworn there was some sort of rule about the very-bad-things that can happen when firing automatic weapons from a motorcycle.

I know it looks like i'll never make up my mind; but when you said 'Panther Assault Cannon' Sandoval, i could taste the endorphins and serotonin in my mouth. Gunnery it is!

You get 5k as well making it a grand total of 80k a piece 5k to spend as you wish an the other 75k to spend on RACE things only. B/R is fine for the extra points i gave you... you learn ALL these new skills by using simulators for the next few weeks while you are on the base training just so you know. So B/R would be easy to get with all the vehicles around. As for all the Specs on the Vehicles the Vtoal is a skin and bone Chopper, no armor no weapons... NADA. She just flys and with that she looks like she could still use some work.

Gremish, do they tell us how long the actual race segments are? I was envisioning that it'd be a transcontinental road race, which meant we might spend long periods of time in civilization, and also long periods where it was just us, and the road, and was gearing my purchases towards that assumption. If I don't need to have a 55 gallon water drum, and things like that, I'd like to know, so I'd have extra nuyen to put towards the vehicles.

So D-trip is going to sleaze his way around as much as possible. His main concern is finding an offical map or at least rumors of possible locations that the race will take place in. Possibly creating rumors in an attempt to get others to divulge some knowledge.

It's great having all that cred but knowing what to spend it on is difficult, so D-Trip will try to gather info on what other teams may be taking.

Gremish, when are you going to give us a list of specific vehicles? I'd really like to get to work on them, and although there is only one type of ATV, I need some model and page references for the rest.

For the group: everyone with a datajack, purchase a datajack port for your vehicle. It'll give you a slight advantage to your driving. Also get a set of runflat tires. They're armored 5/3 in case anyone starts trying to blow them out.

I'd also recommend people picking up a few rocket and missile launchers if you have the launch weapons skill (if we mount them on the vehicles, then gunnery works too). We can get Great Dragon AGTMs (very big, tripod mounted) or Spikes (one use, but portable and can load AV rockets). There are a couple other rocket launchers we can use, but none of them carry AV rounds.

There is no R3 listing for actual tanks, especially not at body 4, or armor 4, so I picked the LAV 93 Devil Rat as the closest thing.

Again, no specific entry for hummer. The GMC MPUV is a combat modified SUV though. If that's too much, then we can start with the N-H Brumby, and add four points of armor.

Helicopter: Either a N. Wasp PRC-42B (one person attack copter), or a Hughes WK-2 Stallion, depending on which type you had in mind. Both start out unarmed and unarmored.

And yeah u can sell pretty much anyhting here... its like a bazaar. But plz roll a neg check or Ett CHA depending what ya got... to see if you get full price ect.

That'd be the Hughes Stallion then. Only thing is, it goes for 257,500. The only helicopters that go for less than 100k are one seater autogyros.

Ok guys ive run into a problem the past few days and this is why this all is taking so long so im gonna see if you cna help me out. I have a file thats a map of the 6th world. i was planning on editing it and puting it online so that you all could go and download it. Thus far i have been unable to find a way to edit it. Its a PDF file in adobe acrobat.

I cannot edit it with Adobe and it wont let me open it with an other program. At this point im out of ideas.... ive spend endless hours trying and if you guys have no idea then im just gonna post t and do a text write out of where you are going ect so that we can get this thing rolling.

I have 73180 left (no I couldn't think of much to spend it on). My char's personal vehicle is a for the most part unmodified EuroWestwind 2000...doubt it would be much use, as it's more of a street car. As with the switch to B/R, I only have 2 points in car, and my only combat skill is unarmed. Might be better if I just rode with someone else...

Whizbang I'd suggest trying to sell the Westwind (can you ever have too much money? Don't answer that). With a Car 2, I'd defintely suggest you filling in as a backup driver.

Remember that Gremish gave us 6 extra skill points. As I've said before, gunnery covers most vehicle mounted weapons. Since vehicle combat is pretty much going to be a given, any firearm skill is going to be a good investment. Also, like I said before, several of our vehicles will need more than one person in them.

Tashio, note that the Electroglide is listed under "Bikes." The Hughes is listed at the bottom under "Helicopter."

Spent the 6 point on car b/r...of course, that might have been more useful if all our vehicles were cars...

Then I'd suggest reassigning at least a couple of those to a combat skill.

Gremish: I can modify either the "tank" or the helicopter to carry a mobile medical unit. I'll ask around on the street to find out which would be better to kit out like that (whether it'd be better to have an "ambulance" we can drive around with all the time, or if turning the Hughes into a "rescue chopper" is the best idea).
