Yeah I remember reading that. The combo seems nasty - but I'm not terribly sure if the disads for being dual natured might mitigate things a bit.

I think the real advantage of these <ahem> new Ares guard animals is that they're not exactly animals; they're smart. And supposedly obedient. Supposedly.

You could outfit the critter in question in mil-spec armor reuseable and not easyly reuseable by runners so most would just leave it and then the corp can reuse what it can.
