Woohoo!
Glide has been sent your way.

Viper has just been sent.
To notice the pickpocketing:
Intelligence: 10 07 05 03 02 02
Stealth (complementary skill): 05 03 01
If she does notice it, she will merely smirk slightly at Kai, and otherwise not seem to care that much about it.
If Johnson checks out the pamphlets, one is an advertisement for a clinic ("Are you a man trapped in a woman's body? We offer functional prosthetics and full sex change operations!"). The other one is a note saying "All Humanis Policlub deep cover agents are to report to an emergency meeting," then gives an address, time, and directions. (The time and place are actually for a M.O.M. meeting).

So, rolls:
Stealth (pickpocketing): 4, 3, 2, 2
Cheating (as complementary skill): 8, 5, 5
With no modifiers other than the brief moment of distraction (
maybe a +1?), I think
Viper noticed
And I'm really glad one of us in the party is that highly intelligent!
(Oh, and I finally caught my PC/username slip. It's edited now. Sorry!)

I'm back, somewhat, for what it is worth. Not sure I should be returning. Real life has a way of interfering with online too badly for me. Even with access on ship, the schedule we sail leaves me too dead to think. That and I'd look a little odd rolling dice in the comm room.
So here lie the belated appologies, for the fact I started this game in the first place. I remain cursed. 0 for 3, and even more as a player. Sorry guys and gals. I'd try to reknew this, get things going again, but I don't know it would be fair.
Digital Heroin
Jul 8 2005, 10:53 AM
And it seemed I missed a passing of the reigns, which, I asure you all, is no problem with me if that's what works for all of you.
Sedna
Jul 8 2005, 12:18 PM
I'm relieved to know that you do feel that way, DH -- a transition then, rather than usurping. Yours was the initial concept, and in pursuing it you brought together a solid group here: solid enough to want to tightly hang together, whatever the winds bring. I looked forward to playing under you, and in a different context that may yet happen. I am looking forward to playing under Bastard.
(Huh -- just realised how ironic -- and utterly appropriate -- it might be if we not only keep this group together, but each of us take a turn at running a scenario for this team while keeping our own PCs. A thought for the future, maybe?)
And I'll hope that life will finally bring you what you seek
Digital Heroin
Jul 8 2005, 08:38 PM
Oh it has brought me what I seek, so far. Career-wise at least. Sailing is just a drain on free time, for the most part, then I'm left with loads of it when I'm alongside. With another six weeks of sailing coming up (and a trip hopefully to Mexico), I don't know if starting anything would be right.
Bastard
Jul 10 2005, 06:16 AM
Welcome back! Thought you were swallowed alive by a whale. How long are you back for...and how much were those two credsticks worth-hehe.
Digital Heroin
Jul 12 2005, 07:31 PM
Well, not swallowed by one... almost ran one over though. Just been doing a lot of sailing lately, more than expected. In a career-sense, it's a good thing.
On the credsticks were 500 nuyen apiece, for expenses. I should probably have mentioned that in the first place, though I think I was waiting for someone to access them.
Got another idea cooking in my brain, a full on campaign... no traditional meets, no traditional payoffs, and a gratuitous movie rip-off... oh yes, my mind is a wonderful wasted thing...
Bastard
Jul 16 2005, 11:06 PM
So, how is the game going to continue? Whos going to GM? DH or me?
Digital Heroin
Jul 17 2005, 06:23 AM
I'm thinking it's best for all if I hand over the reigns to you... if you want, and if it's cool with everyone, I can work up a character to play.
Only thing is I have about a month an a half before I sail like a madman again... trip to Mexico is now confirmed, and San Fran for Fleet Week (w00t), but I'm pushing for a station in the CCR, so I'll have semi-regular net access.
Slipshade
Jul 17 2005, 04:53 PM
Sounds good.
Bastard can always run you as an NPC when you are gone. So I don't mind.

Sedna
Jul 17 2005, 05:49 PM
I'll second that.
Bastard
Jul 17 2005, 11:47 PM
Ok...send me a character and we will be on our way. As soon as I get it, I will play you in. Everyone else can continue.
Digital Heroin
Jul 18 2005, 01:57 AM
Anything you think the team'll need, given you've probably got plans of your own for the run... I'm game for making pretty much anything.
Bastard
Jul 18 2005, 02:17 AM
Anything you want
Digital Heroin
Jul 18 2005, 03:26 AM
Great.... let my mind run rampant... *ponders* I'll probably just make an early version of Umbra, my fallen trackstar Adept turned parkour enthusiast...
Bastard
Jul 20 2005, 06:45 AM
The rest of you, continue on with the game.
Slipshade
Jul 22 2005, 06:36 PM
Glide isn't great at survailence so she is pretty much going to go along with what the rest of the group wants her to do.
Digital Heroin
Jul 25 2005, 04:18 AM
I should have Umbra ready to roll by the end of tonight, and submitted in tommorrow evening... Lord love a 24 hour duty watch on ship, when things are nice and quiet...
Sedna
Jul 25 2005, 06:22 PM
Not looking for warehouse patterns obviously -- that's what he's going to be there to find out -- but just local stuff, gang or cop activity, things that could become relevant if he's going to be staked out there all night. For my rolls:
[ Spoiler ]
I'll try it off three skills, as you see appropriate:
City Knowledge: 4
Odds and Ends of KN: 1, 1 ... yikes, although whatever he has heard on the trid, could be fun to play with!
Courier Company Stuff (maybe someone from the company ran into something in the area): 4
Bastard
Jul 26 2005, 09:06 AM
Sedna:
On the map the warehouse lies outside of the barrens, but it is still not in the best of areas. No gangs are known to "own" the territory.
Slipshade
Jul 26 2005, 04:21 PM
Glide plans on going with Mouse anyway, if only to serve as protection.
Digital Heroin
Jul 26 2005, 08:14 PM
Ok, I be tardy, but I'll have Umbra in once I manage to get home tonight... seems they love using me as late man at work lately... Umbra's an odd bird, part superball it would seem...

Looking for a building top or alleyway that can give me a good view of the shipping docks.
Sedna
Jul 26 2005, 11:03 PM
Looking to see if I can spot an incoming
Glide from a predictable direction:
Kai knows she'll be coming.
[ Spoiler ]
Perception: 10, 5, 5, 2
Also, conjuring a city spirit (form as another of Kai's friends, per affinity), Force 4: 8, 5, 4 -- first service is to conceal Kai, second will be to conceal Glide as well
Drain: 4, 4, 2, 2
I'll post after I know if
Kai has spotted her.
Slipshade
Jul 26 2005, 11:30 PM
Figured you'd see me before I see you.
Slipshade
Jul 27 2005, 04:20 PM
Sedna - Can Glide see you when she turns around?
Thomas - Actually Glide paid when she ordered and Kai just took food from everyone else, so don't worry you didn't get stuck holding our bill.
Sedna
Jul 27 2005, 04:31 PM
Yes. I'm playing with (environmental) Concealment, not invisibility: and it's not really intended to apply to Glide in any case except as a practical joke.
Slipshade
Jul 27 2005, 04:44 PM
I figured that was the case, but wanted to make sure before I post anything.
Sedna
Jul 27 2005, 07:48 PM
Slipshade:
[ Spoiler ]
If your perception gets through the Concealment (4), you'll see another street kid up there. Otherwise probably nothing. Also, now you've had a chance to notice that Kai's reflexes are faster than norm.
Slipshade
Jul 27 2005, 07:59 PM
Sedna
[ Spoiler ]
Perception 04,04,01
My reaction is do to not having been at the meet the first time Pike was around and the fact that she probably hasn't encountered to many spirits. So as far as she is concerned, Pike is just another street kid.
Sedna
Jul 27 2005, 08:33 PM
Got it, and remembered
Glide wasn't at that meet, but
Viper's phone-able in any case.
Slipshade
Jul 27 2005, 09:20 PM
She's a little to aggravated to think of phoning Viper right now.
Sedna
Jul 27 2005, 11:04 PM
Working on it
All things considered, even though it's the proximate cause: I'm suddenly very glad that we do have that Concealment on us!
Slipshade
Jul 27 2005, 11:13 PM
hehe...was that Kai's way of saying he is awakened?
Remember Glide is pretty new to Emerald City and has kept to herself around the office, so she would have no idea about Kai being awakened.
Sedna
Jul 27 2005, 11:28 PM
Kai has no clue that he is awakened. (
Viper hasn't told him.) He just has friends everywhere in the city. Plus that he can talk his way out of most things, and is quite a bit better than average on a bicycle (or anything with or without wheels, for that matter).
Glide just might get to be the one to fill him in
Slipshade
Jul 27 2005, 11:29 PM
LOL! Looks like.
Sedna
Jul 27 2005, 11:45 PM
Have to log off for a bit, sorry! Back in 12.
Slipshade
Jul 27 2005, 11:50 PM
No problem, I won't be back on till tomorrow either.
Ah hell, mixed up Liddy and Pike....sorry
Sedna
Jul 28 2005, 03:23 PM
Why sorry? No reason why Glide should have made any distinction -- things coming fast at her, after all!
The thing about creating a "real" character is that sometimes the reality tends to interrupt professional plot-flow. I hadn't been expecting this to come up, but now that it did, we'll have to work through this, but I'm thinking we can do it fairly quickly while continuing to scope the warehouse.
All right, for the sake of sheer group cohesiveness, how does this sound:
Glide and Kai continue to monitor the warehouse while working this out (fairly quickly?).
Glyph and Steve (and Johnson) work on alternate approaches to finding information about that warehouse: eg what's publicly available about it, contacts, Matrix, astral. Glide and Kai couldn't help you with that in any case: it's not their area of expertise (I think? Slipshade?).
That should keep the action flowing well enough ...?
Bastard
Jul 28 2005, 03:49 PM
Take all the time you want...we got to intro DH to the game and recover Steve's keys
Slipshade
Jul 28 2005, 03:52 PM
Sedna - I only have mob contacts, so when the next day rolls around Glide is going to make sure this isn't a Mob run wharehouse, but that is about it.
Slipshade
Jul 28 2005, 09:12 PM
I think Sedna and I are pretty much done with the major part of our conversation, so if anyone needs to interrupt feel free. If not we will just keep watching and posting.
Sedna
Jul 28 2005, 09:18 PM
Yes. I'm just trying to think how to write it up loosely, such that the three of us are hanging out and watching the in's and out's of the warehouse. (Hope Glide's okay with that?) That could qualify as the third (continuing) service: such that we have the sum total of the Perception of all three of us in casing this warehouse.
Slipshade
Jul 28 2005, 09:33 PM
Sedna - Glide will be fine with that, so go ahead and post the wrap up of what we are doing.
Thomas
Jul 29 2005, 01:06 AM
Hehehe...
I hope you enjoy reading that as much as I enjoied writing it...
Sedna
Jul 29 2005, 01:22 AM
Unfortunately, that caught me at a moment and a place where I'm not supposed to be laughing out loud -- didn't quite hold in all the strangled sounds though -- suspecting I'm probably currently a very similar color to
Steve, if for different reasons
Edit, ten or so minutes later: ow. My ribs and parts of the rest of me hurt
Thomas

At last…
I’ve graduated from painfully bad puns to painfully humorous prose. Joy.
I hope you don’t get in trouble, and I’m glad I amused someone other that myself. (Sorry ‘bout the ribs though…)
You didn’t happen to wet yourself?
I wouldn’t mind adding ‘incontinence-causing’ to my list of credits…
