So the big question now is, did Studio2 get all the SR4 books, and put them out into the distribution chain, or did they only get a small portion of the print run, which they then shipped to people who had direct ordered off of the website?

Ya know, I gotta admit that I keep entertaining the idea of not purchasing the hardcopy until its second (corrected) printing. I might take the updated PDF to Kinko's or some such and have it done up and securely bound. It'd be ghetto, but it'd be a tangible copy to flip through until the reprint.

Then I'm reminded of how long it took for the first printing to become available once it was released.

Colossal Games wasn't answering the phone, so I dropped by on my lunch break. They were closed as of 1:15 despite their posted hours saying they should have opened at noon.

I just received this from my distributor. It is a message he received from Studio 2:

"Shadowrun 4th Edition has shipped and will be releasing Monday October 10th. Due to the tremendous response from consumers, retailers, and distributors the first printing is sold out and has been allocated based on your original order. We have the printer working on the second printing and expect it within a few weeks. We will let you know more information as soon as it is available"

He also said that he was not sure if the books would reach all of his companies warehouses by that date.

Thanks Discount Games, you have been more helpful and informative than FanPro. It's nice to have a retailer keeping us informed.
Oh, and by the way, the one I am getting is by far the most important, so it should ship first.

I live in south-east Idaho in a town called Idaho Falls. And yes, pretty much everywhere in Idaho (with the possible exception of Boise) is the middle of nowhere.

Divided city. There's also a Boise in the Seattle Metroplex.

Just for this diversion, Idaho should get their books delayed by 2 weeks.....

I assume that I will see my pre-ordered copy within the next week or so?

The Good News- Shadowrun books arrived at ACD's California warehouse today.

The Bad News- ACD was short shipped. Evidently a significant percentage of the books in the initial print run were ruined. I ordered 108 books. I will be receiving 60. I will have to fulfill my orders chronologically and then send emails to the customers whose order I could not fulfill on this release and give them whatever options are available.

I apologize to the customers that are going to end up with the short end of the stick.

If I want to go to a game store I head up to Spokane and shop at Merlyns - the shops here in town are pretty limited in what they carry.

I go to hobbytown.....which used to be cooler but now they are all model airplanes, with a tiny section of roleplaying books (Probably smaller than Barnes and Nobles Selection ), and a tinier selection of shadowrun. The guy that ran Darkhorse just set up shop here in Emmett weirdly enough though, so I may check that out.....

But yeah, soon we will rule this board with our potato(e) guns....

Any vibes yet on when the second (corrected) printing will be out? I do love to hold hardcopies and that LE shoor is snazzy.... but I also like not sticking errata printouts into books.

I haven't seen any indications of books in Idaho yet.....I've got the pdf personally, plan to wait for a bit and try for the second printing....

My bro's got one coming though, and it isn't here yet....

I got a call from Imperialus, he just got his LE from Studio 2 today (up here in Canada). I don't know who the FLGS gets their books through, but with any luck they'll get some in soon.

P.S. I also just found out i was the first person to preorder a LE through the FLGS, before they even had a price on it (so i couldn't even choose to prepay at the time if i wanted to), so if they get at least one it better be me getting the call.

I got my books and shipped them out the same day. I am going to wait until Monday to discuss the options with people that I was unable to send books to due to being short shipped since my distributor thinks he may be able to shake loose a *few* more books.

Well, I got mine tonight from the little local shop in a small town in southern NH. Now I got something to read as I wait for the National Guard to do something about the flooding in my county....

Arghl!! Those Fanpro-#@!$% are selling copies of the ENGLISH LimitedEdition Book at the SPIEL2005 in Essen/Germany for 49.80€!!! I think I should shoot myself....

Well, their online shop sells them for 49.95€ - free of shipment when paying per bank collection.

I received mine this morning in the UK. Arrived in the post, number 465 of 1000. The corners are a bit bashed in which is annoying, I must say when I saw those photos of Battlecorps putting them in the boxes I was a bit worried about how they'd stand up to international shipping and now I know. They're not too bad but it's still irritating.

My FLGS has confirmed to me that my LE is in fact on order and not cancelled by their distributor. However it's not going to arrive until 2 weeks from now or so. Apparantly some distributor is selling LE's without requiring the store to purchase 12 normal copies. I suspect they just have that many standard copies ordered that they got some LE's ordered as well. I should also note it's not their normal distributor they went through for the LE order.
