I keep an
online record of your character sheets. Feel free to refer to it if you don't have your sheet with you when posting. Also that is where I will occasionally post maps and handouts.
Team--I need a list of what gear you have wireless enabled, wireless disabled, and non-wireless (Either the module was pulled out or was purchased non-wireless)
Anyone who wants to work together to build a background story, now is the time, and this is the place.
Post rules questions here and we can work them out.

I know my Hummerli has integrated smartlink, cyber eyes subvocal mic and earbuds are also wireless enabled. During normal days PU has earbuds and subvocal mic subscribed to commlink, can't remember exactly how many devices can be subscribed at once (I'll check), but if any space is left over then cyber eyes get priority. Whilst on shadow work he has ctyber eyes and Hummerli pistol subscribed to commlink for the smartlink, since he's not as interested in incoming calls.
To the best of my knowledge the other gear isn't wireless capable, but I'll double check this. I don't see a reason to have wireless medkits.
Unless he's somewhere clearly defined as requiring active or passive smartlink modes he'll be running hidden, if other modes are required he'll prefer passive.
Edit:
I just realised the HTML dump I sent you didn't include modifers to reaction/initiative for my wired reflexes, I'll send in a slightly modified version to account for that if you'd like, but I don't want to clog your inbox if it's not necessary.

Thanks, will do. I've also realised I mispelled Hammerli in my last post (dumb). I've also checked and subscriber lists are unlimited, it's persona connections for hacking that's limited so...
Hammerli subscribed to commlink for smartlink, no other connections permitted
Cyber eyes subscribed to commlink for smartlink, caller ID and AR (I'll just say all are commlink-only to make it easier)
Earbuds subscribed to commlink for calls
Subvocal mic, subscribed to commlink for calls (for subtlety and so bugs don't work so well)
Forearm snap blades are non-wireless, activated by muscle actions.
I think that covers everything
Tashio
Jan 21 2006, 08:10 PM
Eyes/Ears subscribed to comlink during normal day to day stuff.
If running comlink is connected via datajack, everything runs on DNI.
Oops just realised did not state whats what on my contacts.
First number is Connection, second is Loyalty.
Looks like an interesting group here, should provide for something a little different.
Black Widow is a very social person moving in many upper circles. If you'r a somebody she probably knows you or has heard of you otherwise most likely not.

CX2--I received the file. Also, on an side note, oddly enough medkits are wireless. (SR4, p. 244) Mainly so that the medkit can do what needs to be done without you.

Jan 22 2006, 02:23 AM
Thanks, didn't realise. Given PU's hands on nature I think he'd turn their wireless side off, too irritating.
Also I figured that since my other guns don't have smartlinks there would be no point having them wireless, all the useful functions I've seen require a smartlink. I don't see a reason to do any of the other possible wireless activities with guns, I doubt he'd want to carry music on his shotgun
Edit:
Just to clarify by "turned off" I mean the wireless functions on the medkits would be disabled. No point ripping out the wireless unit if you can just turn it off with a switch. I figure it's easier to get wireless enabled units, and removing the module would be more than PU can do himself, would mean it can't be used in the off chance it came in useful and would probably leave unhygenic rough areas and holes where the wireless module used to be.

Jan 22 2006, 02:52 AM
I betcha one of the things they do when wireless enabled is broadcast thier position to nearby emergency units..
cx2
Jan 22 2006, 03:15 AM
lol, I think I remember reading that they have advertising for local medical places including docwagon...
I wonder if it's as bad in 2070 as it is now. Since I've caught even the Windows calculator trying to use my internet connection before I'd imagine it would be quite easy for a medkit...

Who's interested in a team lifestyle/flophouse/hq?
Or in further integrating our backgrounds?

Jan 26 2006, 01:17 AM
Now that the black out is over I can finally answer! I am also interested in throwing some backgrounds together.
Widget is fairly easy going and enjoys having an actual life outside of running. Running pays the bills and leaves her free to do things at her own pace. She lives in a studio apartment above a night spot called The Looking Glass. She would definitely be up for working with others. Her skill set is focused on her gifts as a technomancer so she knows she needs other people to round it all out. She has no idea who her actual parents are but has been raised by her "Uncle" Jake and Fixx all her life. She is street smart (or at keast learning to be) but not quite hardened by it.
Anyone want to tie in with that or have a suggestion to tie her in with their characters?
BishopMcQ
Jan 26 2006, 02:04 AM
Fix-It--I never received the updated sheet.
Sparky/Buddha--Gear lists for wireless enabled, disabled, etc.?
I know the blackout caused a bit of a hiccup for some people, but I'd like to get this run rolling. The sooner I get the info I need and a green light from the team that their characters are finalized we can start.
HeySparky
Jan 26 2006, 03:27 AM
Commlink(s) passive. Hidden when appropriate.
Weapons (pistols and shockgloves) are wireless enabled and subscribed to her PAN if carried for ammo/charge display to her image link and for permits for random scans. If they become hot or suspect she ditches the weapon and permit.
cx2
Jan 26 2006, 09:21 AM
I don't know how easy it would be to tie in with my character, but here's the relevant parts:
PU hasn't been running the shadows long, but he's been in the shadows for a while as a street doc working with his mentor "Old Doc Harry" (bad name, I know, sorry). Old Doc was killed and PU is looking for a way to buiold up a network of contacts to find out who, and if this includes taking on runs to gain people's trust then he will. He can handle himself in a fight, but is fairly well rounded in nedical skills and has the equipment to repair cyberware. From the rules I think cyberware construction is possible with what I have, but probably wouldn't be a common task since PU lives in the Redmond Barrens (abandoned doctors' surgery/clinic with the offices converted to whatever is necessary to live there).
I also deliberately didn't give his fixer a name in case anyone wanted to have a specific fixer for all or most of the team, PU is the sort who would likely know the local fixer from receiving medical jobs. Who knows, maybe he (or Old Doc) did some work on one of the team?

Team--I know the blackout screwed us up a little...will everyone be ready to roll with backgrounds figured out by Monday? I can start the thread on Friday if there is enough interest, but the weekends are generally slow for the boards.

Jan 27 2006, 08:31 AM
Well, I think the first thing to establish is whether all our characters have met or whether we're getting calls from various (or the same) fixer(s).
BishopMcQ
Jan 27 2006, 02:29 PM
I know that some people have the same fixer at differing loyalty ratings, a pretty boy known as Fixx who works from a nightspot called the Looking Glass. (Connection 5)
If people want to have a working relationship with each other, that's fine with me. Conversely, if you want to be new on the scene, I'll have your Fixer call you and schedule the meet.
Unless I know otherwise, I will probably have the fixer on your character sheet contact you for the run.
Buddha72
Jan 27 2006, 03:19 PM
That works for me. I guess just fill in with Fixx unless a someone wants/needs a different one. I say get the thread started today even if it's just a little flavor posting from all of us. People with the same fixer can say they have worked a few jobs together, enough to know the other person is reliable but maybe not enough to be trusted completely. That way we have some room to grow with the story and the characters. That.s my two bits.
cx2
Jan 27 2006, 05:37 PM
I'll go with the same fixer too. I'll see how much I'll have to drop the loyalty of my other two contacts to boost the connections of the fixer I put in (connections 3 originally).
Tashio
Jan 27 2006, 05:46 PM
Any chance for a bit of info on Fixx who he is what sort of jobs he gives out what sort of crowds he's generaly associated with?
cx2
Jan 27 2006, 06:04 PM
Okay, cou[ple of things here. First I'm going to drop the con of my supplier contact by 1 and the loy of the "nurse" contact (not the sexy variety sadly) by 1 again. This is to boost the con of my fixer to 5 so I can use Fixx.
Second I didn't actually roll for starting cash, just put in the RTF file what the rolls were so here goes (assuming we're on the same honour system I've seen on the rest of the forums)
[ Spoiler ]
5, 3, 5, 1
14 (+4 from chargen left over nuyen) = 18*100
1800
300 on one credstick, the other 1500 on a second. He'll carry the first but have the second tucked away somewhere (matress?
)
If it would be useful I could send an updated sheet, either excel or RTF. The rtf I originally sent was intended to be the actual character sheet with all the background info etc, the excel sheet was originally sent for the breakdown of BP that was requested.

This is what the 3rd game its showed up in?
Of course what Widget knows is anouther story
Probably does not help I'm playing in all 3 have enough trouble trying to keep which is which in the other 2. At least our furry friend has not showed up YET.
Anyway back to the plot. How well known is The Looking Glass in social circles.
Buddha72
Jan 30 2006, 07:23 PM
Well the story is this....
The Looking Glass was a roving rave that popped from place to place.
Iblis (my furry decker character) was managing it but then she hit a jack pot in
Fenris's thread and was able to buy a permanent home for the club. Then
McQuillan (who use to play with my regular table top group before he moved) wanted to use the localein the SR4 thread and he mentioned that the club has undergone some changes since the old SR3 world so I know about as much of the club as the rest of you at this point.
But I am extremely jazzed that homebrewed content (locale and characters) has made it into someone else's game world.

Ok folks--
General info on Fixx presuming you have done your homework or have him as a contact
[ Spoiler ]
Former-runner, he got started as a combat-oriented Face. Strong ties to Club Extassis, Fixx has a good relationship with the known manager Stephan. A little of five years ago, Fixx transitioned from shadowrunner to fixer. He started by contracting work through runners that he had personally worked with, and began a grassroots expansion through the shadow and corporate world using his connections inside Extassis to be put in touch with the largely corporate clientele and his own career in the shadows.
He is meta-friendly with a "big brother" approach to the Changeling community. Known to have an awakened lover who is also a shadowrunner. Most of his jobs are clean of the entanglements that come with syndicate work.
Rumors abound about some level of phys-ad ability to regenerate, though all assensing tests have come back as mundane.
The Looking Glass is a changeling night club and rave spot. There is a subterranean parking level and the ground floor is the main party floor.
2 hits on Data Search or attending a few raves
[ Spoiler ]
The 2nd floor is a crash pad where the staff drops attendees who have over-indulged themselves on their candies of choice. Occasionally attendees will go there voluntarily to sleep everything off until the next morning or later.
4 hits on Data Search or attending several raves
[ Spoiler ]
The day to day management of the club is run by a young Changeling male named Izzy. His head of security is an imposing Simian (troll variant?) called Mr. Bobo who carries two small handcannons (Respect and Courtesy) wherever he goes.
6 hits on Data Search or a regular at the raves
[ Spoiler ]
The third floor is a long-term living area setup like a youth hostel. Small rooms with communal living areas and utilities. (Equivalent of Low lifestyle accomodations) Living there seems to be by invitation only from Management.

HeySparky
Feb 2 2006, 05:35 AM
I have Fixx. We're tight.
I've got Fixx rtoo now. Just business, and PU is only recently taking runner work (few months), but has probably been in touch with Fixx as a street doc for a while longer. If you have spent much time with the gangs in Redmond PU probably knows of you by name at least as well.
Edit:
Would it be possible to look the other team members for cyber? I think it was intuition+cyberwares kill (part of biotech group) but I'll check, that would be dice pool of 9.

Heya Tash - I wrote BW's entrance into my latest post - which she hasn't quite done IC yet - I'll alter as needed. I figured she'd show up sooner or later... hope you don't mind the liberty. And (in case anyone is wondering) it's not something I make a habit of doing.

I'll stop meddling now.

Feb 3 2006, 07:07 AM
Yea she was onsite around an hour before the meeting. I would have posted earlier and been seated when the meeting started but unfortunatly I was out of the office during the day and got home late so had to explain why she was not there as it started otherwise she would have been.

I only meant a quip about someone possibly needing medical attention. If my post still doesn't fit I'll remove it, like I've said to Sparky this is my first time roleplaying.

I think I need a new dice roller app...
TAO
[ Spoiler ]
2 1 4 5 4 1 3 5 1
A little better, but my dice roller app still seems to dislike me.
I don't mind if you rule that I can't use the AR image of the TAO for a cyberware check, or if you apply a penalty.
Edited because I screwed up the spoiler tags.
BishopMcQ
Feb 6 2006, 05:57 PM
CX2--TAO is a corporate program not a person. If you're looking at Finn, then he has a datajack.
For the team, 1 success will notice obvious cyberware such as datajacks and eye covers. (both Black Widow and Copperhead have obvious datajacks.)
I meant Finn, sorry. I wasn't expecting much, just hoping I might have been able to glean something more about his capabilities. Doesn't matter, they're probably bioware anyway.

Feb 7 2006, 06:03 AM
We are in a booth open to the club right, not a closed room?
Buddha72
Feb 7 2006, 06:04 AM
I think so which is why I threw out the post suggesting going upstairs to somewhere more private.
lol Buddha72, you make it sound like something really wierd...
Just kidding. As far as I can tell from the posts we're still in Fixx's booth, I guess how comfortable you are depends on how well you know Fixx (or trust him), how paranoid you are (very, extraordinarily, or should-be-locked-up), and how concerned you are about people in the club.
I do think moving it somewhere else is a good idea, but I don't think PU would have a preference. He's not paranoid to the point of wanting a white noise generator for everything, but I wouldn't be surprised if some characters would be.
BishopMcQ
Feb 7 2006, 04:29 PM
For general reference, anyone bringing in firearms/explosives or weapons that deal physical damage would be asked to take them back to their vehicles or check them.
Patch-Up was the only one I saw mentioning weapons. If you want to attempt to smuggle them in let me know and I will make the tests to detect them.
CX2--The best way to scan people for cyberware is to use a handheld cyberware scanner (will detect weapons and cyberware) or micronized sensor pack.
HeySparky
Feb 7 2006, 04:41 PM
I made a mention of concealed weapons because I didn't realize the policies. (Vadeux would know).
I will edit my intro post accordingly. How reputable is the gun/coat check?
I just thought the SR4 rules said the Sting was immune to detectors because of its construction. I could see them picking up my cyber though. I didn't mean anything by my post, that's why I just made it sound like the security was really good.
