Who are the Denairatsas?
hyzmarca
Back in the Fourth World a dragon broke the no humping humans rule and had many half-mortal children. Most of those children were eaten by another dragon and the offender was exiled. The one surviving child grew up and became a very powerful and skilled magician. He the befriended the dragon that ate his siblings, worming his way into her confidence, until she was so comfortable with him that she let him near her hatchings unescorted. This was a mistake.
The vengeful and perverse dragonkin wizard kidnapped several of the baby dragons and took them to some place more convenient, where he use an Alter Life spell to fuse them into a single monstrous entity that became known as the Hydra. As the hydra was made from both male and female dragons it was hermaphroditic but unable to self-fertilize. He corrected this problem by using Create Life to make an identical twin of the hydra and forcing them to mate with each other, spawning even more identical hydra which then mated with each other and so on and so fourth. Because the hydra reached sexual maturity very quickly, they soon spread throughout Barsaive. The distraught dragon, upon seeing the monstrosity he children had been transformed into, committed suicide by impaling herself on a very sharp mountain.

This, of course, is where the old draconic saying "Never deal with a Metahuman" comes from. Needless to say, if the downcycle hunting and the destruction of their Second World empires weren't enough reasons to continue with the ban, this did not help the cause of draconic miscegenation.

The fun thing about a new baby is shopping for age-appropriate sex-toys. While Sex Puppets toys are popular the companies that manufacture them spend more money on the license than they spend on quality control.

Warning to all players. This is what happens when you leave issues of Transmetropolitan around your GM.

Thane your one twisted fragger. But I very much like that idea.

But you can even go one better. If your friend the party mage can whip up a harmless low level spirit or two. The monster then is not virtual. But infact very 'real'. Just give them instructions to the effect of harmlessly spooking the kid. You'd have to be very specific, and I'd throw in either "Make sure no harm comes to him." or more to the point so they dont suddenly be seen as a 'friendly monster' "Do not allow your actions to bring the child to harm."

and "Do not stray beyond this closet"

Have em kick around for a few days, after that you just need it 'reinforced' every so often.

Blame it on the folks. When I was little kid, like 5 or so, I saw part of "Poltergeist," the clown doll scene in particular. That scared the hell out of me (and the rest of us kiddies). Shortly there after, my father brings home a clown doll, rather expensive one but looked a lot like the one from the movie, but with shorter limbs. You can guess how much I liked that. So, they put it in a closet to keep me out of it (being an adventurous kid I was always getting in places and finding things like presents and guns that I shouldn't be). I eventually got over it and when I was about 16, took it to a friend's farm and shot the hell out of it. They didn't appreciate that very much, but then I didn't either.

Using spirits is an idea. Bind one to guard a certain area and limit it to using its fear power. I probably wouldn't do that to my own kids, but I would to other people's kids and animals. Got a dog that barks all the time? Well, summon a spirit and have it use its fear power on the dog every time it barked. The thing would be a quivering wreck after the first night. Kids like to vandalize your place? Have the spirit scare them off.

For the other things, make your own ally spirit with the Silence ability. Things get too noisy, have it make your own little bubble of peace and quiet. I have a couple of other ideas, but I don't think I'll mentioned them. Been reading too much HP Lovecraft lately.

But apparently not long enough for them to actually read it.

It helps if you don't read the material that you are blatantly ripping off. This provides plausible deniability for any resultant lawsuits.

That would explain a lot of SR4.

Wow. You might want to read the entire train of conversation as to what I was replying to, and not just whatever you made up in your head.

Our Drone Rigger as had her baby now it is the funniest thing watching her cope with motherhood and being a shadowrunner

We've got a char w/ kids in one of our games. Finding a sitter on a runner's schedule is a pain. biggrin.gif

Does your runner have healthcare? How they doing all the Well-Baby check ups?
fool
Personally, i think it's a great character concept. A change from the usual runners who don't even have parents let alone children. The only problem is that it gives the gm more ways to fuck with the character. The more background, the more hooks, but the better role playing.
laughingowl
Hmm in the game I am currently playing in.

My character and her wife, have just started the process of having a kid. (Gene spliced eggs, for a 'true' daughter of them).

My character and her husband are trying, (well not actively avoiding the possiblity, though not actually bothering to see if the time is right, etc. more just have talked about it want one, and are seriously enjoying working towards having one).

(Yes, the relationships are a little wierd but AI is very lucky to have two people whom hold her heart, and are willing to share her.).

Luckily for AI (Alice Inside), she is not quite a normal runner. They have started to go legitimate, and ahve the fragement shards of a fallen megacorp. So the mother(s) might not have to make too many runs (the one is NPC, the other my character) and even if/when my character gets hampered, she is a TM so can provide 90% of what she does from the safety of the base.
Ravor
Hmm, how is you DM planning on handling the stress from Fading/Dumpshock?

Just curious...
laughingowl
Hmm havent really discussed it.

Then again given my spouses (and a few of my friends) and their radically over-protecive nature, they probably will be painting my room with Wi-Fi inhabitor paint, and then putting a few dozen junk commlinks to make background noise to keep me from going stir crazy.

Ravor
*chuckles* Aye, I've been called 'radically over-protective' a couple of times in my day as well.

Anyways, sounds like you are in for some fun times, so good luck and remember that good old fashion hidden cables can't be blocked or jammed. wink.gif
laughingowl
Lol,

Don't really think they would cut me off totally.

Probably Wi-Fi inhibit paint the room, and then when supervised open the door smile.gif if it looks like I even begin to sweat probably shut the door and turn on the jammer.

Just hope peeps are smart enough not to mess with the kid.

Figure while Alice has friends that could make people's life pretty miserable, she could probably tolerate something happening to her spouses as 'occupational hazard' but definatly snap and go to the dark side if somebody messes with the kid(s).

(The kind of snap that makes Dues Ex look like a loving Sunday school teacher)

What happens if an elf gets pregnant with a dragons bady

Take Daddy Dragon to court for child support.
Possibly even loss if income.
Ravor
And then get eaten afterwards.... devil.gif
laughingowl
Well it happened... smile.gif

Morning sickness begins, and confirmed Alice is going to be a mother.... now just to see how soon until the rest of the team locks her up.

I had a girl in two or three of the SR games I played with my (short-lived) SR group. She left shortly thereafter and I've no idea why. indifferent.gif

I doubt I can help with the topic of this thread.

I asked this question along time ago( SR 1) at a convention to Dowd. My elven wolf shaman was pregnant and her husband (adept) is human. He said that the child would be the same race as the mother, therefore any of their children would be elven.

Meri was mostly retired by that time and was used when the runners needed healing or a warm meal.

Our group is now multigenerational as our kids (3 families) have joined in starting at age 12

Now that it's 2070 I and my husband play offspring of the original team.

A player in my group had twins with another PC character. Both characters were elves, and one of them was a full mage (other a rigger of all things). The mother(rigger) was killed in a bombing along with one of the twins. The surviving one (Dante) was heavily burned. The father, the mage doted heavily on the now dead son (Gabriel), because he showed early signs of the talent, where Dante was raised mostly by the mother.

Now it's just the two of them, the father is not a very good father, and the son Dante is being raised mostly by another female PC who's in the mafia. So the kids 7 years old, his Dad liked his dead brother better, no trace of the talent, his twin and mother are dead because of one of his father's mistakes, and he's being raised in the mob. To top it all of, the father is wanted by Lonestar as a cop killer, and they're getting closer. So he could end up in the slam soon.

All in all, I think the son Dante (last name Sinner) is going to be a better character than either of the parents. Now we just have to wait for him to grow up. The mafiaso is alreayd teaching him how to shoot. ork.gif

eww Organlegging and abortion all wrapped up into one. So not what I want to see in a campaign.

Well just for the record, it was finally that time.

Alice Inside has two health daughters....

Now I guess the real fun begins.

Luckily the game is slipping a ways from normal 'shadowun' into more of a political game, with shadowrunning filling in the cracks.

Though all I have to say is hope the lord has mercy, since there is sure to be a world of hurt open up on who or whatever, hurts the twins.
Meriss
Heck, geek em all and let God sort em out.

@Alice Inside: Congrats now comes the fun part, raising em.

Have they gotten their first datajacks, yet? You can never start the cyber-augmentation too young. Implanted matrix access devices give them a significant educational advantage.

"Keep your bloody scapels away from my kids!", Alice screams as she randomly shoots her predator in hyzmarca direction. (firearms 1). (gunnery 5 though)

Well consdering on kid is already showing sings of being a TM like mom (atleast I hope thats why random WiFi chirping was emitting from my kid, and the other is defaintly (and confirmed) showing signs of being a mage, no cyber for them .....

Meriss: Trust already thought along those lines, and a little quick geomtry pretty much already told me there aint a spot on the earth that isn't in a 'radnom computer glitch away' of the flight path of semi-orbital flights. Face to face Alice aint much besides spunky smile.gif but lord help you if you aint in her face and she knows you are the enemy...

The electrons can reach anybody these days...

>>>>> Congrats Alice, although I can't offer any advice on your budding Technomancer, I can offer some basic instruction in the ways of a Wizard, plus the following advice. Once your daughter's skull has stopped growing take her to whichever doc you trust and get her some nice tricked out cybereyes. Believe me, she'll thank you later. <<<<< - Bot

IF she wants them when she gets older, she will have the best.... but until she choses she stay pure.
