HeySparky
I do, and have a passing familiarity with Pito. Will that be a big feature of the game?
BishopMcQ
Pito(P2.0) will have some role in the game. The check was more to make sure that if the plan calls for a parachute jump into El Infierne for 3,000 nuyen.gif everyone has a grasp of what that entails. Likewise the aspects of pervasive corporate culture, neighborhoods recovering from floods and quakes, are all going to be a little different from Seattle. I was gauging how many support materials to supply.

Most people IRL know things like "Avoid South Central LA" but San Bernadino and other neighborhoods have drasticaly changed.
Redjack
What is our start date?
Redjack
Is there a cost to starting with P2.0?
HeySparky
Curious about answers to both those questions.
BishopMcQ
We start 48 hours after I get finalized characters.

P2.0 is included as a Middle+ Lifestyle entertainment option. (Your rating will be based on in game actions)
Redjack
Mikey is submitted... Anybody else in and ready yet?
BishopMcQ
Fenris and Buddha have contacted me about characters. Current plan is for them to have them finished by Friday.

Sparky?

Team--Do you want to have your characters communally posted or keep your stats hidden from each other?
HeySparky
I have no preference.

Also, working on a Latent Awakening concept.
Buddha72
I wouldn't mind a storage option that would let me access my character sheet when I am away from the hard copy or even so the GM can puppet me if needed (make die rolls, etc) so the game doesn't bog down. I know in other games McQuillan has made a link for that purpose for characters in the game, was that what you were referring to?

Fenris and I are planning to submit characters this Friday so we can start the thread on the following Monday if that works.
HeySparky
Current version of Smoke. Might know of Mikey.
Redjack
Additional history:
Several months back, Mikey decided to break ranks with his gang. He needed to break ranks clean, but needed to live through it as well. He made some inquiries and a had an extraction all set with a gang known as the Spiders. Plans being what they are, his gang, the Loco Bananas, ended up in a turf war with the Los Verdugos and they lost. Lost big time.

The Spiders managed to get them out, but Mikey's sole living brother was messed up pretty good. The duo moved to the San Bernardino neighborhood ran by the Spiders and to pay the gang back, Mikey worked with Smoke. He has steered clear of offers to join the gang however, paying for protection rather than getting drug back down into the gang lifestyle.
Buddha72
Ok so I dived into the guts of my character today and I would like to attach my character to other characters in the thread. Being a pixie I'm pretty cut off/out of most things so I think to be a little more viable I need to hook up with someone more connected to the modern world. I was thinking maybe with the technomancer, I could live in a tree at your place or a tricked out doll house or something. In exchange you would have a mage to watch your back or provide spirit help. I'm going for the bad urban fairy angle with everything I do being done through magic. Also attaching my character to another character would make me behave with everyone since they've passed the "testing" phase of my behavior.

McQuillan - I'm getting ready to buy gear and I assume I will be paying 50% more for mundane gear (armor, etc) or are you wanting to handle it another way? I also want to create contacts to help me with further gear needs and I also wanted to design a tradition around the Unseelie which I know I am going to need a little help with. biggrin.gif

As a character D'zan is all about magic both in active and knowledge skills - if I need to do something it will involve magic as a solution. grinbig.gif

Buddha: That will be great. Having recently moved to San Bernadino. Here is his lifestyle.
Life Style (2,000 nuyen.gif) +10% (dependent: Brother)
- Comfort = Squatter (1)
- Entertainment = Squatter (1)
- Necessities = Low(2)
- Neighborhood = Low(2)
- Security = Middle (3)
- - Qualities: Free Access +1

We can update any of those you want, add another 10% and split it down the middle. biggrin.gif
BishopMcQ
No P2.0 subscription feeds for you...unless you are hacking your entertainment section. =(

Buddha--Will you have bought off the Uneducated trait? Increasing gear cost by 50% and broad doses of common sense should be fine. (They don't really make working rifles for Barbie. A custom leather jacket, yes.)
BishopMcQ
I've posted the first of a couple tone pieces for the new game. This next story will be called Market Forces. I will post more tone pieces as I have time and we are on schedule to begin on Monday.
Buddha72
I will still have the weakness, this character is a sort of magical gutter punk. D'zan has gremlins rating 4 so he and tech don't really mix. The most hi-tech thing he's going to have is his armor and that's about it. No commlink (hence needing to be connected to another character).

And for the record I'm bigger than that bitch Barbie. spin.gif I'm almost 18 inches tall I'l have you know.
HeySparky
Purchasing gear.

Any must-haves? Gecko-gloves seem important. Going with Zoe SecondSkin... what's this BodyCling stuff? Is it so SOTA that plebs like Smoke won't even have access to it, or is it in a book I don't have?

HeySparky
Maybe we could all have an apartment? biggrin.gif Making a crash-pad would be pretty fun. And it'd have a retro-Real World vibe if we go all pito. Though... thinking... maybe pito isn't a good bet for newbs like us. biggrin.gif

I can't believe I just suggested that.
Redjack
Well, if the GM is amiable.... We could have a group lifestyle, buy up the proper aspects and start with P2.0.... I've been wanting to ham it up... devil.gif
Fenris
Well, despite not really being technical, Argent will definitely be obsessed with Pito. Since there's not really a way to start with Pito according to the book, I had planned on making getting invited onto the network a prime focus at the beginning of the game ;D

Unless some had plans to have cut deals with one of the crews that run the live action stuff =P

Fenris - You interested in a meshed history and shared lifestyle (assuming McQ oks it)?

McQ - Of course, the question will be not only can we have a shared lifestyle, but can we also all get p2.0 if we buy up the entertainment on that shared lifestyle?

Proposed Shared Lifestyle
Life Style (5,000 nuyen.gif) +40% (Mikey + Mikey's Brother + Smoke + D'Zan + Argent) = 7,000 nuyen.gif = 1,400 nuyen.gif each (Double for Mikey)
- Comfort = Middle (3)
- Entertainment = Middle (3)
- Necessities = Middle(3)
- Neighborhood = Low(2)
- Security = Middle (3)
- - Qualities: Free Access +1
BishopMcQ
I'm fine with people meshing their backgrounds. Shared lifestyles are also available. (Do remember that the rent comes due either way, and if one of you doesn't pay someone else has to.)

Body-Cling is a SOTA designer Second Skin. Same armor values, double the cost. If you have to be on the bleeding edge of armor fashion, I will gladly drain your nuyen.

RE: P2.0--You can transmit your own feed anytime you want, and with the appropriate lifestyle subscribe to feeds. For a Horizon contract like Tal and her crew, you will need to do something in game. As I mentioned earlier, your P2.0 scores will be based on IC actions.
HeySparky
I sure hope Smoke is cooler than I am. biggrin.gif
Buddha72
I dig the idea of a shared roost and I know Fenris is keen on it as well, he's going to post some ideas for the lifestyle later today or early tomorrow. He's more math-able than I am. twirl.gif
Redjack
Coolness. Just an FYI, Mikey is tapped out. If the cost goes higher, he won't be able to shoulder the burden since he has is picking up two shares (his and his dependent brother).
BishopMcQ
IIRC, there was an option to start out in debt to someone or something...will look for rules. vegm.gif

Err, I probably shouldn't use the Evil GM smiley...
Redjack
Why yes. Yes there is. There is a new quality just to that effect. I was thinking more along the lines that if we have a roommate upgrading our lifestyle... we've not too much pride to mooch!! nyahnyah.gif
HeySparky
Do we want to be set up for more than 1 month? Or do we want to be living right on the edge? I'm gonna be maxing (or close to maxing out Resources) so I could foot more than my share.
Redjack
I don't think I'm gonna get sucked into 50%+ interest to buy up lifestyle.. nyahnyah.gif
Fenris
My thought about the housing was just to increase us one more increment in Entertainment. I wanted it to be somewhere where we would have access to enough interesting stuff to make a go at playing at being "Prime Runners", or whatever. I.E., the video feed from out place should look interesting wink.gif I was planning on going into a lot more of the qualities with mine, like having privacy issues with the large windows and having a "star-pen" (mafia brothel with persona-chipped and body modded workers) next door, and a lax landlord.

Obviously we can keep it simpler if people want, I just wanted to toss out my ideas ;D My thought at this point would be just one more point for Entertainment, and I'll pick up the slack for two weeks. I have a point or two left over I don't know what to do with.
Buddha72
Ok so here's my idea and some one with math skills will have to figure it out and let me know if it's even feasible. My thought is some sort of multi-floor building or house. We all share a certain level of cost but each person could upgrade their floor or apartment for their needs and they foot the bill for the upgrades. Does that make sense?

Only way I could see to do it would be to calculate the base number of LP (Lifestyle Points) for things that we have to share, like Necessities, Neighborhood, etc. with the extra people in the group. Then figure each person's actual LP by doing (Base LP) + (LP for your floor). We'd want to avoid any ridiculous extremes, but that's the best way I can think of on short notice to do what Buddha's talking about.

Bought time for a new OOC also, right?

Also, I posted up a 'getting to know Mikey' post. Hope that was ok? embarrassed.gif
BishopMcQ
It's fine. OOC thread is up. Housing was approved.

The Rowan Building (check lofts on the lower left-hand side)

Once a cutting edge ultra hip set of loft spaces on 5th & Spring in the Old Bank District, The Fall has left the area in San Bernadino nearly abandoned, and definitely not longer "the" place to live. The landlords were willing to give you a break, since the group of you were talking about renting the top 4 floors as one big unit, and frankly, there's not alot of people fighting over the space.

Proposed Shared Lifestyle

Shared Components:
- Necessities = Middle(3) - There are indeed four walls, and power and water is on most of the time. The loft spaces are large and open, so it's left to the individual to fill in the four brick walls. Most of the Lofts have balconies and second story mezzanines.
- Neighborhood = Low(2) - As typical in the sort of sprawl buildings that have enough residents, the people in the Rowan building have banded together to create their own community. Nobodies best friends or anything, but residents will watch your back, and the Mafia presence on the 6th floor keeps alot of the riff-raff away.
- - Qualities: Free Access +1 - Somebody nearby doesn't know how to secure their access point...
- - Easy-going Landlord +1 - With the Mafia renting out an entire floor, the landlord's less concerned with the smaller, individual residents, assuming you're not causing trouble.
- - No Privacy -1 - Back when the building was created, dozens of full sized windows along every wall would have been considered chic and helped to brighten up the place. Now they're more like open doors...
- - Worse Neighbors -1 - The upshots to having the Mafia renting one of the floors is more then balanced out by the noises and occasional violence when someone gets a little too "hands-on" with one of their persona-chipped, body-sculpted fake sim-stars.

Total base is 5 LP (Squatter Lifestyle, 500:nuyen: x 1.40 for extra people, / 5 gives you 140 nuyen.gif each, plus your own little kicks). Last three categories are up to you wink.gif

For Argent's floor:

- Comfort = Low (2) - Why bother with alot of expensive furnishings when you're going to be out every night among LA's elite?
- Entertainment = Middle (4) - Gotta grease the wheels and buy the threads that get you in the doors. Having the best possible entertainment center is key to impressing the people that run in the higher circles, and having that sought-after standing reservation in the new chic restaurant s worth eating soy at home, right? Besides, who wants to stay at home.
- Security = Low (2) - Just enough on the doors and windows to keep out the stupid street kids. Who's gonna hit a whole apartment building, right? It looks awful outside, that should be enough to deter most people wink.gif

So, 13 points total, minus the 5 points already counted up and divided, gives me 8 points for 1,400 nuyen.gif plus the 140 from before, for a total of 1,540.
