Was going to post after Edana and the new member of the hunt have met up. That way she can vouch for him when we arrive.

He has one piece of cyberware, a datajack behind his right ear (Essence either 5.9 or 6.0.. Not sure since his datajack is kinda special with his Otuka/Technomancer status) and the fact that he is an Otuka/Spike-Technomancer.

So is the thought to move to a more private location now? I think Fenris and I are doing the once over, kick the tire thing with the new character.

Yeah, that was my intent. New location, somewhere a bit more private, probably the building we were originally gathering in when all this started.

Yea, Red is definitely out of his element. Given the magic within the party, I decided to play him up as having the complete sum total of his knowledge of magic from trids... He will definitely be the odd man out.

I don't think we ever worked out Red's motivation for joining the team.... I think that would help me with my next series of posts... Was the team offering some sort of payment? Is he somehow in opposition to the Templars? Other ideas?

Ah, my assumption is that the character would have had some sort of personal beef with the Templars. That's pretty much why we're all here. I think any cash/gear we acquired during the run is split equally, but we're all here to take down the Templars.

Bishop - Did we ever identify what the wood chip floating in oil actually was in terms of game mechanics?

Fenris--I don't recall any rolls for that. Did you keep it or give it to Dorian? If you kept it, roll some dice, if you gave it to Dorian I'll make a few rolls.

The question of whether we turned it over will actually depend more on what it is ;D

I assume you're just looking for an assensing roll to identify the object, right? Since we sort of speed timed it, just rolling with the old char. Let me know if you'd prefer something with the new character instead ^.^

We are currently in the IC interaction portion of our adventure. If people have questions for me, please let me know.

I know that shadowrunners can't survive on moral conviction alone, so there will be money and gear made available to you. Approaching individuals who have something to gain or lose from your actions could be a good place to start if you need immediate funds.

Red--We can work out a reason that is as simple or complicated as you would like. Some of the people have had their entire upbringings erased and trained to do nothing bt hunt the enemies of the Tir, others have a personal stake in it like Revenge or a need for information. Depending on how much connection you feel to the Otaku community, there are church operatives killing Otaku which could lead you to a desire to lash out at the Templars. Conversely if you want to keep it strictly professional, we can go that way, where you kept on a retainer and paid by Mission.

I think I will take the path of Red looking to get involved because of his girlfriend and her effect on him. Something like the following: Normally he takes jobs that he can do from a safe location rather than getting directly involved, but with this one being a little more personal he is willing to get directly involved. Since she is an Otaku Techno-Shaman she takes a maternal interest in other Otaku. With his feelings for her, his conscience is kicking in for him to come out of his lofty lifestyle and get personally involved.

Bishop - What exactly do you mean when you say Templar aspected? Does that mean it's only useable by templars, or to summon templar spirits, or what? And what class of foci is it? I.E., power, summoning, etc? According to the assensing table I should get that at two successes.

Fenris--Sorry, I misremembered the table, I thought 1 success had a different entry than 2 successes. It is a power focus. By Templar aspected, you must follow the path of the Templar (Christian Magic) for it to be usable.

Additionally, we need a list of at least a couple of the Templar sympathizers that Ulrik gave us.

Because a full list would take some time, I'm going to break this into chunks and you tell me what you are focussing on.

Extortion: Small Time, Large (Criminal), Large (Political), Large (Private)
Sympathizers: Information, Financial, Logistical

Small time extortion is for cases like a local butcher who is being pressured to not testify against certain people. Large scale involves the moving annually of 10,000+ nuyen in cash and supplies.

Sympathizers are self-evident, these are people who because of their ties to the Catholic Church and the Templars, provide tangible benefit to the organization.

Ulick had been leaning heavily on several lieutenants within the Yakuza who run the prostitution rings throughout Seattle's wealthier areas. These lieutenants have certain bad habits that their superiors would not appreciate. Each of them is also responsible for the exploitation and kidnapping of young Catholic teenagers.

The deepest hook Ulick had was in Yamato Kenshi. Yamato was responsible for introducing Dawn Morgan to a life of prostitution and has two illegitimate heirs who were begotten from meta-human mothers.

Political
On the other side of the coin, Ulick has been extorting Chief George Lodgepole of the Tsimshian government (DoD). Tsimshian Rangers were implicated in several attacks throughout Tsimshian and Salishe-Sidhe territory, which sparked a new wave of agression between the two groups. Ulick had information which could prove that the Tsimshian were not responsible for the attack, and has given glimpses of the information in exchange for funding and actions elsewhere. There was to be an exchange in three days time in Tsimshian territory for the data. Upon receipt of the data, Tsimshian Rangers will execute certain orders against civillian targets in the Salish-Sidhe and Athabaskan regions.

And what exactly is he getting from Kenshi for keeping this info quiet?

@ All - Thoughts are this, so far:

Yamato - Find out how much it's worth to him to have Ulik and Ulik's information disappear, then collect shortly there after with no additional work needed. Also, I'd be willing to provide a warranty that says something like, "If anyone else claims to have Ulik's info and wants something else, we'll take care of it." This removes hopefully a flow of detainees from the Templars recruiting lists, and has the additional benefit that he might let us know if another Templar agent surfaces in town and starts trying to pick up the strings Ulik left behind.

Lodgepole - Provide the information, but swap for gear or cash instead of the military action. This has the double benefit of halting some action that was going to be beneficial to the Templars, and removing the information from their hands as a barginning chip.

In Chasing the Prize, Edana's Descent into the Shadows began when she assensed the scene of murder by Ballefour (a ghoul) who sexually tortured women to feed his deviant sexual and physical appetites. Dawn Morgan was the girl.

Edana's probably gonna want to take a strip of hide out of this Yamato guy.

Sparky--Cruel, perhaps, but if you recall, she wore a small cross and just after her death was the first time you met Ulick.

Fenris--Ulick is getting money and information from Yamato. Yes, you have the information.

At this point I'll shift us back to an IC conversation, assuming the information he gave us has been disseminated.

Sorry Redjack, Edana's been in this since the beginning... coming up on 3 OOC years (!!!) ago. And Fenris and Buddha more than a year.

I know how hard it can be to join a long-standing campaign so do speak up if we lose you. And, as Fenris did, we'll clarify.

Short-version. Edana came to the UCAS after a personal tragedy back home in Tir na nOg. She didn't know what else to do with herself and took a job bountyhunting a man, Ballefour. Ballefour was not a nice character and was cutting his losses in the States. He fled to Switzerland (Switzerland? Or was it France?). Ballefour was also being tracked by a strange man (Ulik, from game just prior to this one).

The team followed Ballefour overseas (illegally) and snuck into Switzerland (also illegally) and then, as they closed in on the Chateau where Ballefour was hiding out, interlopers (later discovered to be Templars) swept ahead of them, gassed the entire Chateau to death except a Marquis and Ballefour. Then, when the team braced the Templars, the Templars excuted both men and escaped, leaving the team to take the blame. Some of the PCs had already been killed, some were incarcerated and some, like Edana, wriggled through loopholes and did minimal time back in the States.

A year later, one of the surviving teammates, Bishop, calls Edana and others together to discuss the Templars (in the warehouse we're standing in IC). Things Go Awry. The OOC-year-long thread covered about 3 days of IC time in which the new team (Edana, Gellawyn and Kraxus) learned an awful lot about Templar activities, tracked down Ulik and handed him over to the 'authorities.' Not the police.

And that brings us to Today.
