Good Idea. Thanks
Toivoton
Missed you asked.. I'm sort of waiting for him to tell me what I need to roll too: I'm searching the scene (prolly a perception test or 2), looking at some footage (god willing.. doubt a bit that I need to roll anything tho, but who knows..) and Sharp is going to assense a bit at the perimeter, but I have no idea how do you want me to roll.

The time diffrence is annoying - imp always posts when I'm asleep.. frown.gif
Meriss
That's OK Toivoton, Fastball helped me.
So Lord Imp: Bangs Perception Test, Intuition 4 + Perception 4= 8 dice
1d6=3, 1d6=6, 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=5, 1d6=2, 1d6=2 Four sucesses, Not too shabby. And I hit Shift by accident so it reads Firewatch:{Bang nyahnyah.gif
imperialus
Ok. There'll be a new IC post up soon. Just figured I'd poke in to let you guys know I hadn't fogotten about you. Had another exam today though so my brain is in no position to be thinking too hard.

There'll be perception tests all around no matter what part of the scene you are investigating so if you want to post them yourself that's cool otherwise I'll just roll them up and post them when I get to the IC post.
Meriss
No big Lord Imp. Rest your brain, a tired GM is not an effective GM. Do I get Bonus for my negotiation roll for my decker contact?
Toivoton
I wouldn't ask my players to roll for talking to contacts. Unless they don't want to pay as much as the contact is asking. They are after all something the player has paid for. Tho naturally if you are trying to get the contact to do something that he'd prefer not to do, it's diffrent. And even then a big contact might.

I agree by the way that it's better if the GM doesn't try to post overly tired. Unless you already have the things you need to post somewhere and you are just worried how well you can IC it.

Sparky: Might want to roll for the drones. Tho prolly only perception and whatever the one tailing the star uses. Unless the 3 guys are the shadowrunners, I seriously doubt the drones are going to be noticed..

Now since I'm bored and don't have anything useful to do (well ok ok I have, but yet again I'm wasting time instead of doing something smart..), I'll ramble on about stuff here. It was either this or an IC post saying:

"Walker seems terribly bored and after a few unsuccessful attemts to get into the bathroom to check the sink, he starts doing this: this and Sharp materialises wearing only his flamethrower to dance to it, shooting the flamethrower at the ceiling for dramatic effect."

Something for the future (since I'll forget these anyway before the job is done and can IC them..):
Started thinking that we should really start sharing the things that we can so that we all would have more options. For example Casey could really use one of my spirits in case he needs to be able to fight at some point. Also I could use one of Ellies spirits in case I don't have a good thingy for mine to possess (say we stumble into a hive of insect spirits or we are against drones). Was about to suggest that Haeffner should give Bang of of his drones for scouting, but then I started thinking, that perhaps a watcher might be better..?
Also: how many of the little drones do you have Haeffner? If we split up, it might be a good idea to get one or two of them to follow (and take orders from) the ones that aren't closeby.

Also thought a bit about the channeling thingy and went back on the cyberware/simsense thingy (realised Walker would get the the benefits of being a spirit and not being one and that doesn't make sense), but I still think Walker should be able to normally cast and summon. Just with his own attributes. The latter could go both ways by the way the rules are written imo, flawor doesn't really go either way and as I said it's THE thing possession has to balance the flaws comparing to materialisation and you need to blow a metamagic to it so I think it's fair. So unless lord imp has something to say, I'm going with no cyber/simsense and being able to use magic normally.
Meriss
Yeh, Toivoton but I don't have negotiation for Bang, smile.gif (boy I can be silly some times) so I may need to finesse my contact a little. (he's still a off and on runner) So do I just roll Cha+Loyalty? I don't mind paying for the info, but the dance of interaction is important to me and I want to get the feel right.

@Toivoton: Bang will apreciate any help he can get. I will offer to introduce anyone on Charley to any of my unshared contacts (decker, mage and corp), and body guard services, also free weight training and sparring privaleges also the Zen of Ice Cream.
Toivoton
What is the contact like? Why is he Bang's contact? How is their relationship before? Does the contact have some sort of moral code? I still think you shouldn't be forced to roll for it, but if you are there on biz, he would ask for money for it. After all you work for a corp now and most likely have a budjet for this kind of thing. Remember that even Firewatch is still just another employer, it isn't much diffrent from coming to get info on where corp X keeps their new prototype. Now this is naturally assuming he doesn't have something against working for a cop. And that the ones Bang is looking for aren't friends of his. Also remember that the contact likely doesn't know anything if he's just a runner.

If you REALLY want to roll, I would roll a normal etiquette, negotiation or even con or intimidation (+charisma or just charisma -1 if you don't have them) depending on how you are trying to get him to get the info. Using loyality rating as a bonus.

By the book its negotiation+charisma+loyality rating or charisma+loyality rating-1 for uncooperative contacts and the contact can go looking by using charisma+connection rating extended test (1 hour interval) substituting knowledge skill if better and there is a roll to see if the contact already knows, but it's sort of unlikely that he would if he's just a runner. I like just ropeing contacts instead of this however.

You gotta remeber that the loyality 3, contact 5 crime contact can be an oyabun who you have on film with the troll dominatrix Kitty and tho he would cheerfully remove tiny parts from you until you stop breathing, your deaddrop is scary enough that he is willing to give you info and perhaps even do some favors as long as you keep the footage to yourself and maybe do him a favor in return for the bigger thingies. A lot better to throw intimidation+charisma on these. Tho then again the loyality might as well simulate the fear he has of the footage so it might still be fitting to give as a bonus.

I think it's better if we keep our contacts (not that I mechanically have any..). Loyality is afterall to the char that paid for them. And I don't think shadow contacts would appreciate if we paid each of them a visit.. "Hi. This is Firewatch team Charley. Be friends with them."

What I was going for is to always have as many options as possible. If Walker orders a spirit to help Casey, she will always be able to fight his way out of a situation. Well at least better then she can now. Now it's still not something that she would normally even consider if she can help it, but say if she's ambushed, her changes of survival just went way up. Thats the thing possession spirits are good for. Now if Walker was suprised unarmed by drones, he would be MUCH better off with a materialisation spirit. I suggested we should get Bang a watcher or a drone because he can't really be considered subtle and if he notices he is followed, it would be easyer to sic a drone or watcher to go check instead of trying to be stealthy all of the sudden.
HeySparky
To put a fine point on it I don't have all my drones specced out, but I did want a small number, half dozen of little observation drones and a few well decked out combat drones.

I never did get to talking with imp about what sorts of software I could have created in the time it took to get 300 karma... like really slick autosofts and the like. As well as how high Agents could get, the book only lists 1-4, is that the max for non-sentient AI?
Toivoton
I'm almost certain you can get up to 6. Even higher for top of the line military stuff. For example the communications comlink has a rating 5.. cyber.gif

After some looking I can't find where it only lists up to rating 4. I mean the page 228 list has prices up to rating 6..?

By the way I sort of understood that you weren't supposed to buy your equipment? You know stuff that isn't inside you or aren't custom. (Tho in theory most programs would be free too then..)
HeySparky
Yeah, I need to get with Imp on that.

So the Agents at chargen was what I meant... I don't have the book on me, but I have a distinct impression that they only go to 4... though that could very well be the standard chargen availability making 4 the cap.

Thanks for checking, though.
Toivoton
Yeah avail=rating*3.

Lord Imp: Walkers response depends totally on where the cameras point. He goes for the cameras that might point in the direction of the window. It is possible that they came some other way, but thats one way he knows it would be easy to get a picture.

The cameras in the house itself are prolly useless, but the stuffer shack might still be good. If it isn't, he goes to look for cameras in the buildings facing the window.

Assensing for Sharp:
1d6=2, 1d6=2, 1d6=5, 1d6=6, 1d6=4, 1d6=6, 1d6=1, 1d6=5, 1d6=2, 1d6=3, 1d6=6, 1d6=5
= 6 hits. I'm afraid I'm using all the good rolls..
Meriss
@Toivoton: Bang despite his issues, (he's got a skull full like most folks, low logic does not mean low emotion) is fairly upbeat and friendly. Unless you piss him off, then you're just screwed. So he sees the world as one big adventure, so he would introduce the folks on Charley to his contacts in an effort to be friendly. Obviously he would not introduce them as a unit but as "ma teamie" one at a time.

In the interest of trading info, this is how it would work. My contacts are:

"Pops" a fence/pawn shop owner, as long as you don't bust him for the semilegal stuff in his shop. Everyone on Charley could use his shop provided we didn't try to scam Firewatch out of milspec stuff. (that would be a whole other game)

May Summermoon an elf Wicca mage, somehow I see Casey and her clicking, she would be interested in talking with Elenor and Walker(although Walker would have to watch his mouth) about magic.

Slaughter an Ork decker, he'll do almost anything for a price. Provided he can be assured that any information he provides won't come back and bite him.

Mr Smith a mid level corprate exec, when Bang does well, he looks good for having the foresight to hire him. He also plays Johnson for Ares from time to time, so he could be a useful contact.

@Sparky from the Keys of the high lord himself
QUOTE

When it comes to purchasing your own equipment and cyberware you can largely ignore availability. Keep it reasonable and we’ll all be happier. Anything that isn’t outright illegal or mil-spec is available, and I highly recommend purchasing a permit to go with any restricted items you might want. Keep in mind, this isn’t a ban on military weaponry, this is a ban on personal ownership of military weaponry. Each mission will have a budget that you can work with to requisition necessary supplies, that’s when you’ll get access to the mini-guns and assault cannons.
Meriss
@Lord Imp, yup that was who I was looking for. He's a little miffed about Bang going legit on him. (feel free to use soy-bacon, po-po, and other cop names when he speaks)

Edit :
Bang's Negotiation Roll Cha 3 + Loyalty 2 = 5 dice, 1d6=6, 1d6=1, 1d6=1, 1d6=2, 1d6=5 Two succeses. Hmm looks like Slaughter is in a lousy mood today.
imperialus
@ Sparky: As for the program ratings. Assume that you could get pretty much anything you need up to rating 5 and a few important ones at rating 6. I see those ratings as basically being advanced dog brain AI, not self aware but adaptive and relatively smart. Anything higher than that starts to enter the realm of true AI.
Toivoton
Meriss: I think Bang is mechanically as smart as Walker. (log 3, int 4 right?) That was not the point.

Deleted a huge wall of text once I realised I was trying to argue against something you didn't say: "Everybody share contacts." Now I'm against that for the reason I already said. It is however Bang's business what he does with his contacts tho so I don't say anything to that.

Imp: Did I misunderstand that we aren't really supposed to own thingies like drones?

And how do Firewatch officers get upgerades to their personal equipment?
imperialus
The drones would be provided by KE. ES_Sparky was asking what sort of programs she could have either written or have access to. My answer was mostly rating 5 a few at rating 6. For the most part they'll be free of cost to you as long as the total price is reasonable. They simply come out of your budget.
Toivoton
Sort of figured. Tho I assumed that the programs would be BP/karma. That actually makes the techies a bit scary.. cyber.gif Hmm... saaay.. Do I get more skillsofts on KE's bill...? cool.gif

However you didn't really answer how the team's personal equipment is improved. Do we just ask for stuff? I mean stuff that you don't just take from the armory for the mission like you do with unmodified drones, the citymaster and unmodified weapons. Stuff like cyberware and foci.

And how big is our budget and is reusable stuff rented every time or do you buy them? And how if they are? Can you "save" for something more expensive or...?
Fastball
I've got to get some dinner, then I'll place an IC post for my portion of the interview.
Meriss
@Toivoton: Yup thats right. Bang however would not introduce you to his contacts until he was resonably sure he could trust Charley. (or the individual members) May however is a civ and a SINer so he would be happpy to introduce anyone to her (she's almost a big sister in his mind, lord imp I realize she does not have that high of loyalty, but that is her attitude not Bang's)

Edit: IC post is up. Lord Imp, do I need to roll a Cha+Intimidation to get the clerk to answer my questions?

On Initation Again: I reread the first post in the thread and Lord Imp stated that group Iniations are a no-no. Drek, oh well. I guess I'm going to need that astral portal Fastball

QUOTE (imperialus)
I think the idea of forming your own initiation group is a fantastic idea.

@Bang: I believe the no group initiation rule applied only to character creation.

@imperialus:
If Kalanay appears hostile to either Eleanor or Kalanay, Eleanor will attempt to use her meager leadership skills and alumni angle to soften her. I've left the role for you, because I don't know if you want separate rolls for Eleanor and Casey or one roll with friends modifiers.

I also had no idea if Eleanor's astral watch of Kalanay's would require one, multiple, or one extended assensing test, so I left that for you, too.

SyberCat
Warning! Long Post Detected!

Hey folks! Sorry about the delay!

On Initiation: Talked to Lord imp today - he likes the idea of a group initiation. I see it as both a team building exercise, as well as a chance for further character development and an additional roleplaying exercise. All told, I'm looking forward to it!

On Sharing: That's an excellent suggestion, Toivoton, but I personally think it'd be something we'd do once the team was better integrated. After all, if Walker doesn't like Trolls, is he likely to lend any of his spirits to Bang? At least until Bang proves himself worthy? At the moment, the team's on the first run together, and still working out a lot of the kinks, so in a lot of ways, we're still jockeying to see where we all fit. I definitely see your suggestion as something we'll be doing in the near (two missions or so) future, though.

On the Witness Interview: Casey is personally manipulating Kalany with her body language, trying to improve her reaction to us. I'm presuming no modifiers on an Etiquette roll: Etiquette Roll:4+Cha 5+Kinesics 2+First Impression 2=13 (1d6=5, 1d6=4, 1d6=1, 1d6=6, 1d6=4, 1d6=1, 1d6=3, 1d6=5, 1d6=5, 1d6=6, 1d6=4, 1d6=4, 1d6=5) (Six Hits! Beat That, Kalany!).
Once this is done, she's guiding Ellie through the process of manipulating the subject as well, through the "stage directions", as well as other commentary discussions, as listed in the IC thread (post soon!) Casey's roll to assist Ellie is probably a Leadership to match Ellies... which is right here: Leadership: 4+Cha 5+Kinesics 2+First Impression 2+Authority 1+Assistance 1=15 (1d6=4, 1d6=6, 1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=3, 1d6=1, 1d6=4, 1d6=2, 1d6=4, 1d6=3, 1d6=4, 1d6=5, 1d6=2) (Aww, only 4 hits.); As far as I can tell, unless imperialus thinks I have enough hits for more, Ellie is bound to get at one die in bonus for Casey's assistance (or vice versa) ... although you could use the "Ringer" rules, and give Casey the bonus for Ellie, even though Ellie is the "voice". (Basically, I'm reversing the rules for using Social Skills on groups of NPCs for use by PCs. [Pages 120 & 121]). I'm also presuming that we're considered "Obvious figures of authority", and our outfits put us in her social strata. Then presuming our goal is of no significance to her (or at least no negative significance), and she's neutral to us, if not friendly to Ellie. So the roll is... above!
Oh! And to assess what Kalany is telling us, I suppose a Negotiation (Sense Motive) is in order. No external modifiers applied: Negotiation: 4+Cha 5+Kinesics 2+First Impression 2=13 (1d6=5, 1d6=4, 1d6=2, 1d6=1, 1d6=5, 1d6=4, 1d6=3, 1d6=3, 1d6=5, 1d6=2, 1d6=3, 1d6=6, 1d6=5) 5 Hits. Who's an open book now, Kalany, hmm?

On Casey and Combat: I'm actually looking forward to the team's first combat, to see how it pans out... I'm thinking Casey's a bit more survivable than she looks, although she's definitely weak compared to the other members of Firewatch. Her body's not up to snuff, for start, but I like to think her Mystic Armour helps make up some of the difference. And while her automatics are behind, you should see what she can do with her omnipresent hold-out pistol! Thankfully, her ability to heal, and her metabolic control help keep her from dying, in theory. And if, for some emergency reason, she has to do hand-to-hand... well, say hello to her weapon focus, boys and girls! If she gets lucky, though, (which she most certainly is!), she should be alright. I hope. <winks>

On Casey herself: Here's one of the files Firewatch has on Casey. It's provided for flavour, and you're welcome to go through it. Constructive criticism, general thoughts, and other friendly comments appreciated.

Meriss
@Fastball: Ah OK, I missed that.

@Lord Imp, Toivoton, Fastball: How drain consious is your average mage? I mean say Joe Runnermage goes to cast, he's going to think about the drain right?

@Lord Imp: A couple of crime scene questions. How big is the hole in our stiff's head? Big enough to fit a hand? (at this point I'm thinking an Ork with a cyber hand extracted the headware.) Is there a fire escape? I'll check the IC but if there is, there's no point in our fictional runner team levitating into the room (No offense Toivoton) I will be echoing these these in an IC later and rolling for Perception

@Syber: Bang's a meat shield, (even without Mystic Armour) and because of his mommy issues, he will protect any female without hesitation. (so if Casey get into too much trouble, a quick subvocal will bring in the eight hundred pound cavalry) {That goes for the rest of the ladies too}

Edit: Boy I need to learn how to read! grinbig.gif The fire escape would be a Bad Idea for the runners (if it's runners) Toivoton my apologies. Lord Imp the rest of my questions stand. I'm going to check for ev-i-dence on ground level. (perception roll to follow lunch)
Meriss
So as promised rolls:

Bangs Intimidation Roll: Cha 3 + Intimidation(Physical) 6+2= 11 dice, 1d6=1, 1d6=1, 1d6=4, 1d6=3, 1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=2, 1d6=3, 1d6=5, 1d6=4, 1d6=3Hmm two successes, Bang's not as scary as I thought. Rasta Boy keeps his cool.

Bangs Perception Roll Cha 3 + Perception 4 = 7 dice, 1d6=6, 1d6=1, 1d6=3, 1d6=6, 1d6=5, 1d6=3, 1d6=3 Three successes, not bad.
Toivoton
I don't really understand what you mean by drain consious. Naturally one thinks about drain before casting every time. Then again it isn't really critical to get no drain in this edition..

Joe Runnermage is going to have at least 10 drain resistance die if he's any good. That means that he will prolly cast up to DV 3. That means stuff like decent levitate, invis or a force 6 manabolt (or a force 8 stunbolt like most runners should use). Naturally he will get drain even if he tries to keep under DV 3, but he can cast lots of spells before it starts to hurt too bad.

If the force of the spell is higher then his magic, it's physical damage so he will prolly stay under that most of the time. For example Walker wouldn't normally use a force 8 stunbolt since even if he should normally take no damage, if he throws badly on drain resist, he'd be physically hurt. Then again if there are 5 heavily cybered trolls with assault cannons shooting at him in a small room, he'd cheerfully use a force 10 or something stunball to drop them since tho he'd have to resist 6P drain with 13 die, it would be preferrable to having the trolls shoot at him for a couple of turns.

About sharing spirits: Well if I "give" a spirit to someone, I can also just take it back at any time with a thought. Besides I was thinking of giving Bang a watcher and since those are as good from both mages, but Eleanor is better at summoning, it would most likely be her watcher.

About Casey's combat: As I said I didn't exactly memorise his stats, but I do remember that he has agi 3, no extra passes and the rest of the physical abilities are a bit weak too. It is not her thing so I don't really mind, but her enemies are prolly throwing more dice and more often so you do understand why I suggested it?

It is not something I meant for normal use - Usually we should have a SWAT team and that and the rest of us should really be more then sufficient and Casey can just hang back. However if Casey is working his contacts somewhere alone, it might be nice to know to have some help. Don't you agree?

... Just thought of something - Can you "Rig" Skillwires? cyber.gif Tho then again it would prolly only give 2 extra die since Walker can just download the skillsoft so nevermind - not worth it I think.

@Meriss: As I said I'm new to the game, but how is levitating in a bad idea? That CAN be done wrong, but then again it's just as easy to botch entering "the traditional way".
Meriss
@Toivoton: My apologies, I was not as clear as I could have been. My question was if the (fictional at this point) runners had a mage, would said mage want to deal with the drain to levitate himself and two or three companions to the window. (although he/she has prolly had a chance to heal the drain by now) Basically I'm trying to get inside the criminal's heads. And the "traditional way" is alarmed, so levitation is a better way in for our perps.
Toivoton
Ah ok. Just so you know, levitating someone willing is very easy. Well okay a troll is a bit harder, but not that hard still. Just slowly levitating someone has a DV of 1.

If you have to levitate many people at once, it would be harder (tho not because of drain unless you had to do it in the same action). And if you wanted to make them invisible at the same time, it starts to require skill, but just levitating people one at a time isn't hard at all.

And he didn't really need to hide them himself - he most likely used a spirit for consealment while he did that. I'm just hoping he didn't use it before getting to the wall since it would really suck to not get a good photo of the suspects..
Meriss
Agreed Toivoton not getting a good pic would suck.
IC post up
imperialus
next IC in the morning. Sorry, trying to keep as caught up as I can. dead.gif
Meriss
@Lord Imp: My clock says you posted at 3:00 AM. If I have the time difference right you were up to one in the morning local time. SLEEP! we need you fresh for this. smile.gif

@Toivoton: If you go to the Stuffer Shack you want to do a full military hard ass on Rasta boy for me. I demand satisfaction. It just irks me that Bang couldn't scare him.
Toivoton
Walker doesn't use that if he wants to intimidate. It only works if the target already knows he's screwed.

I doubt the rasta has any reason to be uncooperative so I don't think Walker needs to intimidate him, but if he does:

If it starts to look like the rasta isn't going to cooperate, he might start by levitating some food for himself while talking. Then when he actually says no, he will start mentioning things he could likely charge the rasta with. (You know the "you have a busted tail-light"-reason for pulling someone over and smashing it when he asks about it. Tho starting with witholding evidence since the rasta would actually BE guilty of that..) Perhaps even levitating or possessing him or something if he feels it isn't going that well and the rasta needs additional .. encouragement.

Too bad you no longer get bonuses for both wielding obvious magic and being armed..

Tho then again he HAS a reason now..
On to rolling. Using mods only to the making him scared part since I have no idea what mods would be in order for the judge intentions roll:
I'm assuming these mods:
-Walker isn't normally physically imposing, but he is in Firewatch gear so It's at least +1.
-Sharp looks at least as scary with his flamethrower and materialisation so +1 there too.
-Both me and Sharp have used obvious magic. +2
-We outnumber him. (gotta love being able to outnumber someone alone.. cool.gif ) +2
-I'm going with the clerk being "Suspicious" since we are cops. -1
-Just realised in the middle of rolling that you used somesort of ringer thigy for the witness so I'm just gonna take a "looks more scary" bonus of +1 from having Sharp look scary next to him instead of using teamwork (damn - sharp got 5 hits.. frown.gif)

Walker intimidate (cha 7, intimidate 2, mods 5 = 14 dice):
1d6=4, 1d6=6, 1d6=4, 1d6=1, 1d6=4, 1d6=5, 1d6=6, 1d6=6, 1d6=4, 1d6=6, 1d6=2, 1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=1 = 6 hits
Walker judge intention (from the attributes thingy - somehow more intuitive then negotiation. Besides I don't have negotiation.. wink.gif cha 7+int 4 = 11 dice):
1d6=4, 1d6=6, 1d6=4, 1d6=6, 1d6=4, 1d6=3, 1d6=6, 1d6=1, 1d6=4, 1d6=2, 1d6=3 = 3 hits
("Resisted" with Willpower+charisma)
Sharp assensing (int 6, assensing 6 = 12 dice):
1d6=2, 1d6=6, 1d6=1, 1d6=3, 1d6=5, 1d6=1, 1d6=1, 1d6=1, 1d6=2, 1d6=4, 1d6=2, 1d6=1 = 2 hits

Aw crud. Well lets hope he's scared enough to tell the truth since I can't tell if he isn't..
Meriss
Huh, He must have a mystic Ganja (marijuna) shield. Do you get a bonus +1 for Bang's comment on Not eveyone in Firewatch being as pleasent as Bang?

When I said Military hard ass I mean the whole "You WILL cooperate if you know whats good for you" routine. But you're doing fine don't let me stop you. wink.gif
Toivoton
I suck at dealing with people and quite frankly couldn't intimidate a 3-year-old so I'm just guessing, but as I said: I feel that that only works if the target already knows he's screwed.

Now I don't think that you really mean the drillsargeant yelling thingy, but it's imho an exaggerated version of what I think you are getting at and if you think about it, it's actually quite amusing. It's just not that amusing to the ones he's yelling at since they know the sarge can get them in deep shit.

Actually I don't really know what it feels like since I haven't had the pleasure to be yelled at by a drillsargeant, but I've been yelled at by a few nasty lieutenants and that worked like that. The captains didn't need to yell, the ones above that got someone else to yell in their stead and the corporals and sargeants didn't really have the experience to sound scary with the exception of the ones that weren't all "there" and had way too big muscles to be funny.

This from having endured the conscript army of Finland.

I didn't take any bonus from Bang. It would imo depend on how the original intimidation attemt went and I didn't feel like waiting for lord imp before posting.

Thinking a bit more - Do you think you could give a longer example of the "military hardass routine"? (Sort of thinking that I didn't understand you once again...)
Meriss
Basically just generally mean nasty, the occaisonal threat. Think of cop shows that you watch at home, do they have a "bad cop" the mean one not the crooked one. That, only more so. Mentions of possible bad things that happen in jail, etc. Be creative, use you imagination. Heck offer to show him all your black bag moves.

May I assume from your comments that "Toivoton" translates to "toy soldier" in English. (or some thing like that I don't speak Finnish, thats just my inner translator talking)

I sucked at my attempt two successes roling 11 dice! embarrassed.gif
Toivoton
Nope - toy soldier would be lelusotilas. Toivoton is hopeless.

And I was going for that actually. Walker is under a camera all the time and I don't really have anything good to threathen him with since I doubt it's his store. Naturally if he seems to be guilty of something, Walker would say so.

Wonder what's going on with lord imp..
Meriss
@Toivoton: Ah OK cool!
@Lord Imp you OK?
imperialus
still kicking. Don't worry.
Toivoton
Uhm.. If magic was used between 02:24-02:46 on sunday and we are getting signatures on monday 20:45 or so, the force of the effects used would have to be 42. Or am I missing something?
Fastball
Based on imperialus's description, I don't think I got a real signature that would be useful for tracking or recognizing again (It's probably a crow shaman, but I wouldn't be able to make a positive ID if I met five crow shaman).

The image of the crow was simply a strong mental impression that stuck to the window. It's a magic anomaly, but certainly not one that hurt us.
Toivoton
Ah ok. Sort of just assumed that it was a signature.
Meriss
Fastball, Syber are you coming with Bang to look for evidence under the window.

This is sorta one of those occasions where story trumped mechanics. I wanted to give the suggestion that magic was definatly present but the signature has decayed past the point where anything useful could be gained from it. It was still a powerful spell but that's why it was simply a feeling, and a black shadow of a large bird. Elanor thinks it's most likely Crow, but it is also possible that it's Eagle, or another large bird. Basically when I rolled Eleanor's assencing she got 9 sucesses out of 12 dice so I figured a bit of a bonus was an order.
Toivoton
Ah ok. Was starting to worry a bit.. wink.gif

Meriss - whaa? Walker isn't good enough? wink.gif Besides - isn't Bang in the Stuffer Shack atm?

Didn't roll for perception assuming you would have if there was something to be found.
Meriss
Toivoton sorry, Bang is upstairs in front of the apt. he was waiting for Casey and Ellie to finish their interview. Unless Walker asked him to come with. I haven't rolled perception yet cause he's still up there. smile.gif
Toivoton
Ok. (didn't ask)

Imp: Is there anything to see outside the window? (or in other words - do I need to roll something?) And do you want me to roll if Walker sees any likely places to find a camera pointed in the right direction?
Meriss
Everyone OK?
imperialus
Hrm? Double post like 10 hours apart.

Hey folks... sorry for the delay!

I'm posting an IC right now, but I also wanted to send something Lord Imp's way...

There were a few questions contained in Casey's "stage directions" to Ellie that weren't given answers in the most recent IC posting... I'm hoping it's just an oversight, really... which is what I suspect anyhow.

The idea was to get a list of who knew what the research was all about - which would give us another lead to follow beyond the gang angle.

Anywhich - off to an IC post, and here's hoping for a quick turnaround!

Cheers,
-Syber'
