Luckily Vera does not need 8 hours of sleep a day and can survive on 3 hours every 48 hours.

Should I challenge Dartha to a pillow fight at ten paces then?

You're damn right, he is! And with good reason, don't you think? One can kill you from kilometers away, another one can do so, and will take insane pleasure while inflicting as much pain as she can, and the third plans to hide her pistol where no such thing should go.

Had a request to jump the time-line to the hotel, if no one has any objections the team will be heading there to finish off the first day of the adventure after this initial meetup scene with members of the Igbo tribe. Angel and his men can be either very dangerous enemies or very powerful allies, depending on how the team plays it.
Jane will be exhausted and want to spent the rest of the day resting and touching base with her contacts at the hotel. The runners are free to explore the city (Go with at least one other person), pick up supplies (see previous comment), touch base with their contacts and interact amongst the team. Karma will also be awarded by the end of the night.
Once the R&R phase has went through, the team will continue their search for the missing artifact and Samriel Lockwood.

I never got a(n) (In Character) reply from Jane. Does she have a contact that can point me towards a supplier for some glasses, maybe some other gear?
I have no objection to your plan. Dartha is set to "passive", and somebody else, literally, is driving.
We'll have to work out "going out" amongst ourselves, after we hit the hotel.

I have a bunch of short question for ya:
-Does each room have window or windows?
-How thick are the walls of the rooms, and what are they made of?
-How many access to the top floor is there? Stairs? Emergency stairs? Elevator? Fire Escapes?
-Is there a fire suppression system in the building? Or any sort of fire fighting gear?

There. I edited it so the message is to everyone. Hodder is going to lay low in the hotel to heal, but maybe strike up a conversation with someone over a couple of beers and gain a language. Don't know. The original plan was to wander, learn and pick things up, but he is really hurt and had no chance to heal on the flight because of the assassin.

If she were texting, I would say yes. What level is your Edit program? She didn't invest heavily in that. I can't see a low level Edit program being able to sub live speech that way. She's got the team names in her HUD instead.

Its not fun if the player has to keep notes of who is what letter of the NATO alphabet. Besides which level 3 is the equivalent of a standard system. If we can think words into text, then it certainly can do all kinds of things seamlessly.

Ah, but there's a line between THINKING words into text, where the computer is doing the interpretation anyhow, and SUBVOCALIZATION into substitute speech (Violet, per the first post SincereAgape put up, which is what we've all been using) requires it to run on a delay and listen in, then convert, then retransmit (in our voice, no less) what we MEANT.
No, I don't see that one being easy.

@Dexter
1. Three of the seven rooms have windows. Feel free to assign whom gets what room. Each window has a view of the market and the slums in the distance.
2. Thickness of the walls is equal to the average thickness of a Holiday Inn Motel Walls or a College Dorm. It is made out of a sturdier version of dry and plaster wall. Armor Rating 5, Structure Rating 6.
3. Two primary. One elevator of the rusty variety which shakes as if the cable wire is on its last days. And one stair case which is at the end of the west hall.
4. No fire alarms. There is a sole fire extinguisher in the hallways of each floor.
@Dartha
Background count is at a -1. Due to the hotel's history and proximity to the Lagos Lagoon/downtown area where a lot of people died of VITAS over the years, the mana surrounding the hotel area is not easily as assessable to magic users. It's like bench pressing after working out for an hour. You'll be able to do it, but there is a slight strain.

@SincereAgape
Questions:
-Are both the elevator and the stairs at the same end of the corridor?
-Dexter will double check if the extinguisher seems full. If it turns out it isn't, he'll swap it for one from another floor.
-Is there any way to block the elevator's door on the 3rd floor so that they can't open? And would doing so prevent the elevator from working at all?

1. They are on opposite ends. The stairs are in the center of the hallway, the elevator opens up towards the end.
2. The fire extinguisher is not full, the pressure is outside of the green or satisfactory area. When Dexter checks the other floor, all of the extinguishers are worse.
3. There is a way to form a barricade in front of the elevator, it will take some work in the matrix to shut down the system and for it not to stop on the 3rd floor. The hotel staff will not be pleased if you do not seek their permission first. Your party are the only guests on the third floor.

Here is what Dexter does: -Places Jane at far as possible from both entry/exit. Take the room next to hers.
-Go and place one micro motion sensor in both the elevator (directly inside the cabin) and the stairs (between the 2
nd and 3
rd level). He’ll place another motion sensor on each of the three windows.
-Grab a chair either from his room, or he’ll ask the front desk, and post himself in the hallway, near the stairs. If the reception desks as any sort of magazines or newspapers, he’ll grab some also.
-Set down the fire extinguisher next to the stairs.
-Put his chair a few feet away from the stairs, sit down, and start reading a magazine
Current gear: Dexter changes out into his BDU pants. He still has his short sleeve jacket on, but he’ll slip on his tac vest as well, and strap his drop leg holster (right) and drop pouch (left). He’ll have his rifle next to his chair.

Hi guys.
The Lagos market scene was just posted. If you have specific items that you would like purchased, let me know.
@Dartha - There was no magical items for sale in this particular market. The market which sells magical items (Name escapes me at the moment) is in the northern end of the city and Kofi was unable to take you to that location before nightfall.
For supplies for the entire team I am going to charge 75 nuyen per person for the entire week. So Vera, Dartha, Jack, and Kofi were able to get food and water for the entire team at a cost of 450 nuyen.
Game plan from here.
1. Night fall in the hotel and resting. There will be a time period of character interaction. I'll be playing Jane as well as Peaceful, and Kofi if anyone is interested in roleplaying anything.
After this has finished
2. The next day will commence, and by mid-day the team will be spending time in a palace of royalty....think the Indian Palace in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Hey all, sorry I've been quiet lately. I've had several reports to write and tests to do lately, and just haven't had a ton of spare time. I should have some time to go over everything either today to tomorrow and finally get back into the action. Sorry again for having virtually vanished like that, but it was one of those cases where I kept thinking "Oh, I'll have some time tomorrow, no point spending time posting that I'll post."
But now I have some catchup to do and know I've not done anything for a week or two, so figured I should post to say I haven't just dropped the game cold turkey (Because I have been keeping up with two other threads in what time I did have)

@Dartha. In the Leventis Open Market (Which is near the hotel and the market Kofi Vera, Jack, and Dartha too) you area able to purchase pistols with Availability of 6 or lower, at 25% under book price.
You are also able to get regular glasses with optical image magnification at 25% above book price.
Anything more exotic such as pistols with a 7 or greater availability and the Glasses with Optical Image Magnification and a smartgun link will have to be purchased at the Dudu Dudu Oja Arms Market (Agege District) which is on the other side of the city.
@Hodder: Kofi tells you that there is a talismonger in Leventis, but she does not carry foci on hand in the shop. She does buy foci and can get items for you but it will take time. There is a Amulet market in the center of the city, in the Oshodi-Isolo district.

GM Note: Something you'll have to do the next day, unless you are willing to sacrifice the ability to heal tonight. Learning another language can be a tiring task.
