No worries Slip, you didn't know I had anything planned. Either you or Scrap are free to respond to Finn.

Sedna- Letting you know I posted a reply for you, cause it's a little post that got buried under several other posts I put up back to back to back, just in case you didn't see it.

WR1-
Good IC post! Of course, I'm biased as it was mainly focused on John, but still. I'll have something up later, or respond to Slip if he beats me to it. After that, we'll move downstairs for the meet.

And not to change the subject, but I've been working on SR4 Scrapheap. I shouldn't have written in all of those contacts IC! eek.gif They're not so easy on the BP, that's for sure.

Also, as far as Qualities go, are we doing custom qualities or just sticking with SR4 canon? I ask for things such as dependents, phobia, etc.

-S

Slipshade
Scrap - I time dated my last post a bit later to allow you to finish your conversation before Max speaks.

And I noticed that with Max too. He has a large number of buddy level contacts that I was just not able to get to the same level in SR4. I guess they have started to shy away from him a bit, now that he has started running the shadows. smile.gif

Slip
Scrapheap
You have it worse; aside from the contacts you have to worry about that fancy lifestyle! Of course, if we aren't careful IC, maybe not for too much longer...

-S
Slipshade
Scrap - High lifestyle actually wasn't to bad in SR4, being that a lot of items actually cost less and Max doesn't have a lot of gear.

Yeah I would guess that there arn't to many high class prison cells in Shadowrun. smile.gif

General Announcement/Reminder To All Players

With respects to the SR 4 conversion, don’t forget that remaking your character in strict SR 4 canon is only Step 1.

Step 2 is providing your GM with a list of things you feel is necessary to be consistent with the character.

We don’t want anyone to be ‘de-powered’ just by a switch in the system, or having contacts vanish into thin air because you couldn’t afford them, or <insert bad change here>. The point of creating your character from scratch is only to give you and us a template to work from. You will find your GMs (mostly) reasonable about discussing ways and compromises to keep your character pretty much the same as they are at the time of conversion.

Will there be changes? Yes. If you have a Lv. 1 contact you haven’t talked to, used, or otherwise interacted with by now, maybe putting extra BP into the contacts that are significant to your character as opposed to the contacts you never speak to is a good idea. Will the changes totally alter your character? No! A close buddy contact, such as Finn for Scrapheap, or Sybersnake for Dragon, should NOT suddenly become a 3/3 contact.

(Side note: Is anyone else having flashbacks to M:TG when they see that format/notation?)

If there are qualities that are a huge part of your character (e.g. dependent for Scrapheap), then discuss it with your GM. That’s the point of giving everyone almost 2 months to change their characters, to deal with all the character specific issues that will arise in the course of conversion. Creating a straight SR 4 character is (or should be) the easy part.

Remember, at the end of the process, the ultimate goal is to have your SR 4 character resemble your SR 3 character as closely as possible at the time of conversion. We realize that a lot of discussion and dialogue will be necessary, so please, feel free to step up and initiate discussions with us, because if you don’t, we have no way of knowing what you’re thinking.

(Does that answer those SR 4 related comments/questions?)
Slipshade
WR1 - Sure does. I was just trying to give you a little time to look over our characters before bombarding you with questions. smile.gif
WinterRat1
Actually, giving it to me all at once is better. Then I can go over your whole character once instead of having to go over it, then go over it with the changes in mind. If you've got it, email it to me.
Slipshade
I'll take a look at everything again and send you something.
Slipshade
WR1 - Nothing else from me before the meet. I will just astrally project and keep an eye out for any awakened entering the bar. I will also check back periodically, so Scrap knows I am still around, or I miss someone that is masking.
WinterRat1
Sedna- Slip and Scrap are all yours, feel free to take it from here. Let me know if you need anything.

Slip, Scrap- As the preceding message shows, Sedna will be running this meet, so

EDIT: Your worthless souls are under her complete and utter control for the time being. Happy Slip? sarcastic.gif
Shadow
Well that answers alot of questions. I was thinking Ivan was going to be impossible in SR4, maybe I will give it another go around.

Also, where's this building at?

Slip/WR1/Sedna-
Edited my last post and added another to better fit in with Slip's latest.

Sedna-
If John and Max are interupted by the contact, no problem. Just trying to add some color.

It's difficult, given that he doesn't wear any insignia nor has he stated an affiliation, but you get the impression that he's used to dealing with the vast and overarching bureaucracy of a megacorp, probably one of the Japanacorps.

Ok, what's this place look like? Very quick is ok (I'm guessing multiple levels by the description).
grendel
Actually, it's a single story but rather large layout, covering about 1600 square meters. Map will be forthcoming, but in general there's an entrance hall that opens up into a waiting area, several offices, an operating theater, recovery room, and large storage area in back. Three entrances: main, rear, and fire exit.

For the record, I'll be reviewing my SR4 sheet again after that roll.

Heh, oh I so love coming up with derogatory names for shadowrunners.

I mean, it's not like Eyes is one himself or anything, so it's perfectly fine to hold them in distain. biggrin.gif

Just wait until he is, and word gets around what he's been saying about his co-workers...

And they will find out, because you know, they are paranoid criminal whackjobs... wink.gif
The_Eyes
Oh it'd be wasted if they didn't. grinbig.gif

Don't forget, Grendel is your usual GM, which means he's going to be the one deciding what twisted, horrible end will come of your comments, not me. Think about that one for a while. ork.gif

Oh, he's not so bad .. just misunderstood. Yes, misunderstood....

Come back to us, Eyes, I promise it won't hurt any more than you want it to. biggrin.gif

And I didn't even have to pay her to say that.
The_Eyes
Oh you know you did. nyahnyah.gif

Er, besides, I thought they were proud of being paranoid criminal whackjobs? Yeah, that's it. smile.gif

(Lord knows everyone on the SR discussion forum seems to be proud of their level of paranoia)

Hell I pleaded with the LITS crowd to let me play under Grendel, but he had lame excuses like,

"I have to many players *whine whine*"

ha!
The_Eyes
Morgannah alone is almost too many players. I know I wouldn't be able to handle Cosmo. smile.gif

Of course you know I mean that in the nicest possible way (pleasedon'tkillme...you know, I really need that as an icon of some sort.)
Morgannah
Of course you do. *half-smiles and pats the cushion beside her*

Come, .. sit beside me a while. I won't bite .. much.

Hey, if Cosmo/Morgannah beckons, who am I to refuse? I'm on my way! love.gif

On second thought, maybe I should just leave the whole couch for Eyes. I'm sure handling Cosmo would definitely help his bad memory. wink.gif

Note to self: Do not participate in grudge run. Especially a grudge run GMed by Grendel. eek.gif

Oh come on, you know it'll be fun. Dragon's a fighter type. He'd be the perfect back up for Ivan against the Vory when they make a power play for the BTL trade into Seattle via Vladivostok. I mean, really, who wouldn't have a good time trading fully automatic fire with Russian mobsters along the docks of Tacoma? The big guns wouldn't come out until the final showdown, anyway. I could be the first one in LitS to use mortars.
WinterRat1
Hmm...Ivan and Dragon would make a pretty fun team...and trading fully automatic fire does sound tempting. And Daedalus could get into the act as well. Riggers are always fun for combat. Heck, Virgil's a combat mage, let's get him involved.

Except... in his short stay since arriving in Seattle, Dragon's been accumulating enemies like a kid accumulates candy on Halloween. Maybe he should lay low for a while. Sigh, decisions, decisions.

Maybe we should make that an official contest. Which of the GMs can pull out the biggest guns in the most creative way that actually makes sense within the context of the story. GMs, what do you think? wink.gif

Horrible idea. Let's just forget you even brought it up.

*nods firmly*
grendel
I think it's a great idea. The Azzie border guards just to the South of LA patrol the border in LAVs armed with Relampagio medium rail guns. I could work that in to a storyline.

Note to self #2: Avoid any out-of-town runs for the duration of the contest. Maybe even find a place to lay low for a while.

Addendum to note #2: Check with Cosmo to see if spot on couch is still open.
WinterRat1
*Following up on Addendum to Note to Self #2*

So Morgannah, tell me, is that spot on the couch still open?
Morgannah
A small, mischevious smile curls across Cosmo's lips as she lightly pats a soft white cushion beside her. Her eyes remain haunted, of course, as she knows that some higher power is toying with her, batting her around like a ball of yarn and watching, waiting for the proper time to pounce..

biggrin.gif

Of course, come on over. You'd better bring that riot shield while you're at it, though ....

Om my gosh, you did NOT JUST SAY THAT!!!

Woohoo!!!

Game on man, GAME ON!!

I have the best idea. To bad I am only running one game for LitS. Looks like ASVW is going to be my play ground!
WinterRat1
Unfortunately, Dragon does not have a riot shield. He does however, wear lots of armor that he'd be happy to layer around Cosmo as well. lick.gif

And of course, he himself is pretty heavily armored. He is constantly referred to in ASVW as the 'big samurai'. wink.gif
