You know, I have allways taken this skill at one degree or another. But I have never been in a situation where I got to use it.

Don't worry, I had already thought of it.
I mean, Invae. C'mon. |
I dunno what Invae means.
What, should it be obvious?
I don't know Spanish.

From the translation that you are fed, you determine that there are either Ant or Termite spirits.
And I had already thought of this.
This is the real fight, not those piddling little smugglers
That emoticon has never been more true.
EDIT: Invae= ED term for Bugs

Oh.
I don't play Earthdawn, so I dunno that.
Oh man this is gonna kick ass....

Dec 9 2003, 03:05 AM
That's it. Somebody radio it to me so I can kill them all.
Oh, and get your hoops out of there.
I really, really hate Ant Spirits.
A lot.

Kill them with what? Your incredable charm?

Dec 9 2003, 03:07 AM
No, with my... Uh... My... Uh...
Shut up!
I can still kill their meat bodies.
The only good bug is the one that's been blown up by my LMG.

last question first- To determine that the smuggle was telling you that there were indeed bug spirits.
Your watcher... is still out.

Cub.
Drain:
TN 5(M)Willpower 6, Spell Pool 4

No drain.
He now has a +1 to TN's for sustaining a spell. (Focused Concentration)

Would Wolf know you have the Mind Probe spell?

If not, I'm pretty sure he'd know the resident chemist has some gamma-scopolamine, though I doubt if he wants to wait an hour for it to kick in.
TinkerGnome
Dec 9 2003, 06:05 PM
Given that we're a set team, and that it's so useful in this type of application, yes, I'm sure Wolf is aware of his spell array

I'd like to make a Chemistry and Parabotany test to see if I spotted anything in the area that can be used to create an insecticide or similar agent that will be more effective against bugs should the need arise, including how much time it would take to prepare them if there is. Especially if I can use it to either replace or blend it in with my Splash Grenades (Neuro Stun X).
Chemistry: 22 9 7 5 5 4 4 3 2 2 1 1
Parabotany Complimentary: 13 8 5 4 4 1
I'll also prepare a hypospray with three doses of DMSO/Spirit Strength, just in case we need the extra firepower. I'd also like to make a Parazoology test to see what I know about bug spirits (defaulting to it if you don't think it's entirely appropriate; +2 TN).
Parazoology: 11 5 3 3 2 2

Casting mind probe (sorcery(spellcasting) 7, power focus 1, spell pool 4) force 5, TN is willpower:
02 05 03 05 01 05 04 01 04 01 01 14
1 1 1 1 2 3 4 4 5 5 5 14
Drain check vs. 2S (willpower 6, spell pool 2):
04 01 11 04 10 05 02 01
Looks like no drain.

HVAR, check! Shotgun, check! Panther, check! Savalette, check! ATGM, in the T-bird. Barret, same. HMG, same. Packing no EX Ex this time, though. Explosives bad.
Oh, and, full armor stuffs. Like last time.
Note to self: Get Ares Squirt.

Dec 9 2003, 10:13 PM
Capsule rounds are more effective than Supersquirts in these cases. Squirts are only good if you need silence.
Tanka
Dec 9 2003, 10:15 PM
This is true.
Anybody got capsule rounds?
Ol' Scratch
Dec 9 2003, 10:17 PM
Nope. But it's going to be easier to get Command to send a bucketload of that than a bunch of Squirts.
Grey
Dec 9 2003, 10:19 PM

Dec 9 2003, 10:49 PM
Well, mindprobe results.
His team got the Sioux forces on their tail and got into a running gun fight, before falling back to here and holing up, hoping for a miracle.
Late two nights ago, the team rigger disappeared and their magic user died suddenly. The group fell back to the west wing of the building and holed up there. Bug spirts broke down their defenses and dragged off the rest of the group. He was outside trying to get the sentry guns working again when it happened. One of the flesh-form spirits tried to kill him, but he managed to fight it off.

Did he mention what kind they were or could he only tell they were bugs?

Only could tell they were bugs. Remember, you have it whittled down to ant or termites from his other information though.

You want me to change canon?
EDIT: Sorry Dr. Funk. I tend to answer the first one I read. And you were second.
Anyways, they do have 3 Ares Supersquirts with full insecticide tanks. They also have twelve magazines of insecticide rounds.
Anyways, it is about 1700

Dec 9 2003, 11:28 PM
I think he would like it if you'd answer his questions. You kinda keep skipping over him...
I'd also like an answer to my questions about gear that we'll be able to get.
Grey
Dec 11 2003, 04:08 PM
Are we gunna be able to get Insecticide rounds, or just APDS?
Ol' Scratch
Dec 11 2003, 04:11 PM
What would really be cool is if we could have insecticide "tracer rounds." Basically, being allowed to throw in an insecticide capsule round amidst the APDS. But somehow I don't think that'll work well.
I never did get why there's an actual
rule that says you can't mix ammo types in a clip. It should have just been a recommendation that stated the reason as being one of bookkeeping purposes. But I won't rant about that any further.

I sware I remember reading rules for doing that somewhere... I don't know if it was 3rd ed. Maybe it was Fields of Fire or something, I can't recall.

Dec 11 2003, 06:08 PM
Well, it don't apply in this.
You are just going to have to keep close track of ammo expenditures.

Thats fine, but I'd still like to know what we are getting. Do we have Insecticide rounds?
