Oh yes, sure I know, but that toy usually is used onto you by a human being (which might, but doesn't have to, mean the user themselves). I just don't understand the apeal of being fucked by a machine. Then again, I'm not into sex toys either, so what do I know. Propably, it's the remote control idea, the machine as an equal partner, that is so beyond me, or something.

Sex bots. They are damn good at feeling human and will never say no to anything, no mattter how ... interesting. Or for that matter, age physically. And can be adjusted according to fashions much more easily than your wife.

I can definitely see sex bots being at least somewhat effective for those using them (I guess some people wouldn't miss the more "human" elements of sex), but how feasible would they be? Sexing it up in VR is one thing since there isn't an accompanying physical/mechanical component, but I imagine that a full on, convincing sex bot with faux-flesh and all the bells 'n whistles would cost some serious nuyen, not to mention required space and maintenance. I would be pretty scared for my unmentionable bits if I had an unmaintained sex bot.

Yes. Remember, you have to maintain your slaves too. Otomos come reasonably cheap, require no additional surgeries, they're a lot less dependent on complicated nourishment (recharge batteries versus food), generate close to zero waste, don't have to be thoroughly cleaned at least once daily not to smell like, well, shit, and abusing one is both legal and won't cause the conscience most people still have even in SR to bother them about doing horrifying things to your fellow humans. Of course, that doesn't cover the odd flesh fetish dom types, but those are bound to be a lot rarer than lonely corpers wanting a custom made shag.
