DD briefly glances over the results of her quick search. Nothing but a vague reference to UCAS & US Production Buildings and the production facility.

That will require more legwork, and more specific digging.

The Scientist's schedule has better results: 0700 to 1500 hours she is in the classroom. 1600 to 2359 she's at the production facility.

Maybe they'll snipe her on the way home...

DD delivers the data she got to the team network, then mulls the question over again. She's not too fond of wetwork, but as Jake said, it's part of shdaowrunning, and it would not be professional to drop the job for that. Besides, she'll not pull the trigger, just provide matrix cover.

Team Chat Channel:
<<Someone has to cover the 'it team, or we all might pay for it if it goes wrong. So, I can do that.>>

DD keeps her attention on Mr. Johnson while sending this message out, avoiding Charlie's eyes.

Private message to Jake and Charlie:
<<It's not as if this is not one run anyway, just with two objectives. Matrix cover is matrix cover.>>

DD's more talking to herself here.

DD almost loses her composure at the latest news.

A Drake? Oh my god... that would be killer ratings in L.A.! If we could get him to shift...

DD stares at Mr. Johnson, seeing him in an all-new light. The thought that this most likely means a Dragon is involved doesn't cross her mind right now, curiosity and some paparazzi impulse overriding most of her impusles.

Chat Channel to Jake and Charlie:
<<A Drake! I never saw or met one! That would be a gold mine in L.A.>>

"Someone have a boat, or are we bullshitting our way over the border? And, more importantly, are we taking the job so he'll give us the rest of the information we need?"

<<Both have to be done at the same time otherwise the security on the other is going to go up, and I don't doubt that with forewarning the UCAS military just might be able to put something into place that could stop 100 runners cold, let alone 6 or 7 of us. Please just relax for a bit...once the Johnson leaves, we can start planning out how we will do the data steal, once thats planned it will give you a timeline for when you should start your end of things.>>

<<I actually had a thought for getting to the island. We hire a smuggler, I'm sure between all of our contacts they can get us a smuggler in short order if the price is right. I think 4k is probably about right for one night's work, but I'll leave that to those with a bit more knowledge in such things. Since Dancing Eye's and I are both going to be on the data steal crew we can summon up some spirits to keep the boat magically hidden, and speed it up if neccessary. There shouldn't be anything alive that could catch a speed boat being sped up by Spirit.

<<Now, I'm not really skilled at binding spirits, but with a full 48 hours to complete the run I'm hoping that Dancing Eyes and Noowan could bind a spirit or two to send with us for some extra fire power if we need it, we are talikng the UCAS army after all, regardless of what the Johnson said. Having one or two spirits up our sleeves to call on without taxing ourselves could make things go a lot smoother.>>
Fuchs
--Friday April 11th, 2070 at 0015 - Dante's Inferno, Seattle--

DD nods. As she suspected, if the woman was any use to the Johnson alive, they'd have ordered her extraction. Just like in "Triple Cross".

"This is acceptable."

DD continues to study the drake, out of curiosity mostly, while the other runners make their decisions. The sheer novelty of seeing a drake - even if he looks like a modelling human - has pushed her lingering uneasy feeling over wetwork aside.

Yes they must be done at the same time, and time is a great consern.as for fire power that is why I sugjested that the data team be the larger of the two and all I take on the hit team is a driver and real good shot at range to watch my back, as for sprits just what did you have in mind?

Almost forgot to say it.

"Yeah. I'm in."

"Do we want to do this tonight or tomorrow night? Waiting until tomorrow gives us the luxury of trickling onto the island on the ferries over the course of the day, then going to ground there, and coming home with the tourists on Saturday. On the downside, it means we have to account for what ever our lab rat likes to do in her free time after her brutal hours are over. If we go tonight, we hustle to get over to the island, but she's way more likely to be home in bed and easy to find since she's got a lecture on campus in the morning. Or we do this tomorrow evening, when she's already at the site, so that we don't have to split up. In twenty-two minutes and....9 seconds, I'll be on station to support both ends if we decide to go forward right now."

<<You make a good point about not waiting, and I agree wth it, but we also need time to do some legwork first like getting a smuggler with one of those speed boats, and summoning some spirits now so that we have time to recover from the strain before the run. I think we should plan to do it in 24 hours so tonight at midnight, or a bit after to give her time to get back home. If we run into problems with the legwork we can just postpone it to tomorrow night.>>

<<Noowan, as far as spirits, I was thinking we could use a bound water spirit. We'd use it to maintain concealment over the boat to make it really hard to pick up. Going in, we wouldn't need a spirit to speed the boat up, and on the way out, if its neccessary I can just summon a spirit, or use a spirit I've already summoned to boost the boats speed up. The reason we'd need a bound spirit to conceal the craft is that we'd want the craft concealed the entire time, not just while we are on the boat going to and from. I think an Earth Spirit or Fire spirit held in reserve as an ace up our sleeves wouldn't go amiss either.>>

That split sounds reasonable. I would prefer if the data-steal time were further sub-divided into an infiltration team and a support team.

He begins plotting out a mental checklist of what could get FUBAR...

Spirits...Charlie?
Mages...No clue...
Drones...No clue...
Mechs...No clue...
Soldiers...No clue...
Base Lockdown...No clue...
IC? Shit.

With DD helping the others, if she was going to give him backup, it'd be undependable. So he has to do the Matrix lifting alone. Fine...better than that team of 8 Awakened he did that job with.

I've seen jobs go smooth, but it's rare, and I'd like to know who I need to shout at to get certain problems solved with the quickness. <<Tom, I was hoping you'd be in on the data steal because we'll need the bigger guns there the stealthier the better. I think that with a bit of back up from DD and possibly Truth we can get the wet work down with only a 3 man team so we'd have 6 for the harder job. Once they are done on that side Truth and DD can shift over to backing the rest of us up.

<<I have a sleep spell that can do for anyone but a mage and it works on an area, Spirits shouldn't be a problem either. Against spell casters I'd suggest a more physical approach, so either you, Tom, Ralph, or Gecko would need to just shoot them, preferably with some shot guns, or other big stuff. You'd have me and Dancing Eyes to do counterspelling on the 6 of us, more than adequate. I think between the two of us we should be able to deal with drones and mechs by spirits if not spells, though I'd prefer it if everyone were willing to contribute to it a bit. If we get locked in the base...I could throw all I have into summoning up a big old earth spirit to bust us out that'd pretty much laugh at anything they could throw at it, but it really is a last resort since it could put me in a bad way, a real bad way.>>

I agree it would be safer to capture her and hold on to her until the data-steal is done. DD would need to keep any trackers and bio-monitors spoofed until after the data team has successfully exfil-ed.

As to relays I have that covered. I can string a discrete Laser relay system about 5 miles into the most secure areas no sweat. I also have tools for detecting a Telematics infrastructure that would let you neutralize it long before it would spot our comms.

Skills? My personal best time for an undetected ascent of the Space Needle is one minute nine seconds and unassisted descent is 40 seconds dead. There is nowhere that is connected to the ground I can't get to if I've got a Hacker to open the locks for me.

As to violence, I prefer not to kill anyone that doesn't need to be killed, but if I can reach it, it's dead, endof. I also pack a custom Ingram that is loaded with gel or capsule rounds with Narcoject or Pepper Punch for distance work.

Kidnapping? And holding her, then killing her? That's cold - and complicated. Everyone knows kidnapped victims are likely to be saved...

She doesn't really want to pass too much time watching a doomed woman, much less being so close to her to spoof the tags and beacons and commlinks.

Team Chat Channel
<<Far be it from me to oppose an exciting ploy that would garner a 'ip audience rating, but I think this time it would be better to get in position, then do the deed once the data steal is done. Kidnapping is too much of a risk, in my 'onest opinion, for too less gain.>>
