Cool...just downloaded OpenRPG...when will the server be up?

No password. Shadowrun 4e - Hitting the Streets is the game name, and the server is up now, though I will be out and about

So I'm definetly up for the game and available at the time, but what's the current group composition? I would be happy playing practically anything, so just let me know what would be a helpful role to fill.

In my opinion the group could use a rigger of some sort, possibly a face, or even a second mage.

Well I really want to play a mage I've decided; so many awesome ideas. Still working on defining my concept. It would help to know what the group's current mage can do and specializes in, so I can spread my spell choices to assist that.

I was thinking of Stealth, or the other silence spell, I forget what it is, and either Armor or Physical Barrier. I have also heard that Detect Enemies Presence (I think that's the spell) is an essential one. Or Combat Sense.

Do you guys use some voice chat program with that such as Skype, ventrillo or yahoo voice?

I can't get maptools to work for me. It wont run when I use the .jar file. This is very frustrating.

Make sure you have the newest Java installed. Also, run maplauncher.exe (if you're using Windows...)

Well I got the launched version to work, but now I can't find the server. Goddamnit. I can't find any server.

Yeah, we called it an early night, since we were missing a few players at that point. I'm going to post the maps tonight sometime so everyone can look over them before next weeks session.

Ive never done a hacker but I'd be happy to join in. I can do either a pre-rolled character or I can use the one in 4th Ed book.

Hey is their a spot open for one more? I already have a character ready, a refuge from a dead play-by-post game. A hacker/demolitions expert that goes by the name of Loki. If you are willing to take one more I can give you the backstory and online-character sheet in a link.

I too would be interested in joining, if there's room. I'm somewhat of a noob to Shadowrun (probably played 5-6 sessions of SR4 total) but I've played plenty of DND. I'm scheduled off most Sundays at work, and those that I'm not, I can usually trade away.

I have a few characters ready to go - ones that I've made just for fun and to understand the creation process - but can always make another, if the party needed.

Ex, Lok1 - I received your character sheets. Both look fine, mechanically, though I've only glanced at them.

Just so everyone realizes, we do use Skype as well as Maptools. We've had a few issues recently where new players didn't realize that and couldn't use Skype, so they ended up having to drop, so I thought I'd mention it.

There's a charge involved with Skype, isn't there? What about setting up a Ventrillo server instead?

I already have Maptools, as long as it's the same version.. although I'll need a crash course in how to use it, again

Skype is free, unless you want to make or receive calls from actual phones.
