Skip is skippering the van from the drivers seat, where he is belted in and jacked in to the van and a remote control deck. He is wearing a helmet and sun glasses as well as an armored jacket. Though he is confused and injured, he is not unconscious, which kind of contradicts your IC post. Sylphs are wind spirits usually appearing as whirlwinds or small tornados. Gnomes are ground spirits appearing as mud or rock or even humanoid stone figures. You can describe their attacks too, if you like.

Skip is soaking damage like a sponge.

Getting the Initiative up front so people can declare their actions.

There is a member of the opposition team, that just came to light, on the roof across from where most everyone is. There is a Confused, but otherwise fine troll in the back of the van. There is an injured rigger in the driver's seat. The Ripper is still lying where he fell. Howl is unconscious atop a roof.

We have a new player joining the game, Generic_PC. He'll be running Rob until Ears rejoins us, or there is an opportunity to work a new PC into the game.

Perception to see Mistress Howl TN4 +/- a few modifiers = TN4 (Not including a -2mod for an actual Simple Action to Perceive)

I made that more complex than needed. Just trying to point you, the new guy, to where Rob is in the initiative by using the different color.

I try to put people in the correct descending intiative order. You would go first based on a higher Reaction.

The people highlighted in yellow are still waiting to go in the first round.

As slow as things have been going, I am inclined to let others declare actions, and maybe wait to post IC until others have finally gone, or I get tired of waiting. People in Yellow have had at least 2 days to post as of my posting this. The problem is, RL is no doubt demanding their time.

My suggestion for Rob is declare action, let me know dice allocation (used 3 Combat Pool 1st pass, iirc), and I'll roll. If no one has decleared by then, go ahead and post IC based on dice results.

Greetings to Generic_PC!

Not entirely sure what Troy's LOS takes in from his position.

Action intention is to put the predator in offhand (free action?), quickdraw the browning max power (which is loaded with gel rounds) from it's holster and start plugging the other concious opposition runners - looking for clear shots, nothing confused with melee, which I guess means Mr Troll?

Will chuck a couple of points of combat pool onto each shot.


Will it just make him mad? Will he just get large® and green(er)? smile.gif

I'm also slightly confused about where I'm facing. From what I can tell:

Lil' Buddy is down.
Troll is unconcious, inside the truck.
the Drone is down, but might still be functioning.
THe Skip, Howl, and the Movie star I'm confused about. Mrs' Howl is on a rooftop. The perfessor is confused, and apparently the movie star is a city spirit?

I guess my action, assuming I can see either the skip or Howl, would be to shoot a gel round at either one, but probably the more tough looking one.

Troy used his last action moving, so can get to about anywhere around the runner's van along the sidewalk. Its drivers door is closed, tinted windows.

The rear doors and the doors on the passenger/right hand [street] side are wide open. Rob is in front of Rocky's car (parked diagonally behind van) and at the rear of the van. [The van is parked on the wrong side of the street - for the US. I guess they didn't care about a parking ticket when they followed The Ripper.]

Knuckles may be in the street and at an angle to see Mistress Howl on the roof across the street (same building which had the courtyard. (I am imagining him moving pretty much on a line from the building on the SE corner of Grant and Kirkwood {same building with Mrs. Howl on roof} to the right/passenger side rear of the runner's van. This will take him down the right/passenger side of Rocky's car and in line with Li'l Buddy.)

Terry is inside the runner's van, toward the front, somewhat between the front seats.

All opposition runners are confused.
Perfessor is troll, wounded but conscious.
Skip is in driver's seat of van, confused, hurt but conscious.
Mary Ann is unconscious toward back passenger side of runner's van.
Li'l Buddy is near the back of the runner's van on the passenger side (US for passenger and driver's side, meaning left hand drive - don't tell me this is the confusion. smile.gif), unconscious.
Movie Star is Possessed by spirit controlled by Rocky and has raised hands in show of surrender.

Steel Lynx is tipped on side, currently not operating.
The Ripper is half on sidewalk half in street in growing blood pool, looking dead.
A City Spirit is sitting on curb beside The Ripper, confused.

Howl is unconscious on roof to west.

Mistress Howl on the roof across the street (same building which had the courtyard.) Just avoided an accident.

From where you blocked the runner's van, and the way RV doors usually only open to the rh/passenger side, you would likely go down the sidewalk to approach the van. You would reach the front of it first. The only door on that side is the driver's door and it is closed. All the van's windows are tinted.

You have movement to easily walk to the driver's door, the rear doors of the van are at the extreme edge of your walking range. Trotting at some point gets you there easily, passing right by The Ripper and steel lynx.

Correct, only LOS to him is rear or right hand doors.

Troll/Perfessor is @ 9 boxes stun, iirc and is directly in front of you in the rear of the van.
Correct about Li'l Buddy and steel lynx.
You have LOS to Skip, but there's a lot of people in between, plus would have cover from seat.
Howl is Mr. Howl, is unconscious on roof to the west.
Movie Star is possessed by city spirit and currently has raised hands signaliing surrender.
Mary Ann is back of van unconscious.
Mistress Howl is across the street on the rooftop about 20m from edge near street, you probably have LOS, but it is pretty far for a pistol shot.

I guess I'll hit the perfessor with a shot. That should be simple action, with... I'll go 2 from the combat pool, so that I have three for any returning shots. I'll pass on the last simple action.

I'm assuming this next shot is still a gel round. if not...

Thanks very much for the clarifications there.

Sounds like Rob has the perfessor well in hand.

Troy will take that trot to get to the back door of the RV, from there, will take the shot at the perfessor if he's still up. If Rob has him down already, then it'll be a shot at Skip - presuming the only blockages are cover in the van - no friendlies? Second shot if there's time/conciousness. 2 points into each shot.

Thought about the drivers door, but who knows what kind of crazy electrocuting anti theft measures these riggers use? smile.gif

Okay, since Skip is still conscious, I edited my post to reflect such.
When the next round comes around, I'm going to see how this MF damage-soaker handles dumpshock when I pull his jack from the rigger port.

Carrie in the mean time should be back in her meat now, and will drive the VW van near Howl's position and will levitate up to the roof to bring him back down.

Personally I'm in favour of stealing their stuff. Mostly because I'd like a van full of drone racks and a cute little tin can robot with a machine gun.

On the runners themselves... do we drop them off somewhere? There's that nice wholesome as apple pie UB chapterhouse just down the road?

When there is time, like no more initiative, I plan on having the possessing spirit inform me of what is going on with this team. Are they just staking out what looked like working girls in the right area, poaching our Ripper as in knowing we had put out the "bait" and going for the rewards concerning these possibilities. If so, it doesn't make sense to shoot to kill the Ripper if the Star wants to arrest and convict to collect that big reward. That means they were bagging him for some other reason, likely paying better than the Star's reward.

I agree, it looks like they have some nice equipment, and I wouldn't want them coming after us to get it back.

Does anyone have a weapon that can reasonably hit something 50 yards away? Like Mistress Howl (I keep seeing a dominatrix in leather with chains) on the roof a ways away. I guess the spirits should be arriving either the last pass or the first pass of another initiative roll. I can get back in my body and try Stun Bolting, but that's going to be after another intiative roll.

The only weapons in our van, which Carrie should be starting to drive next round of combat, is a crossbow. The twins don't like firearms.

Sounds doable. It is Rocky's car, but he let someone else drive while he was astrally projecting - turned out to be Rob. Both are about the same distance, Troy's RV probably has more space. Rocky's is a GM-Nissan 3220 sports car.

How difficult would it be to co-opt Skip's van and drones? Do I just need the control chips from his RC deck or his whole deck? Guessing I want to get a mechanic to look the whole rig over for security devices/other issues?

On another note, Troy is up for learning a skill with something larger than pistols - I was thinking either assault rifles, rifles or heavy weapons - and the latter 2 seem to be round here - if nobody wants one of those things then I'd like a steal - frankly feel everyone else gets first pick on that stuff though.

I never thought about just taking his deck. Well, I did, but not then having easy access to everything he was rigging. Would you have your deck password protected or some other type security? (Can you tell I have not ever played a rigger and seldom have riggers in the group?) Let's decide what would make sense with a veteran team, and implement those ideas. Usually, the rigger has a bunch of security on his vehicle, but you didn't on yours, so I didn't want to load it up. And you caught them with their pants down, or his doors open, so I don't think he would have all the security active (not wanting to upset a troll with an assault cannon.) And he is plugged into the running deck, so it would be like coming across someone who was logged onto their computer, so I think you have access at the moment.

Having it looked over is probably a good idea, and what we decide would be regular and cost effective precautions can be found.

When I play tabletop, I don't use training times, but just limit raising a skill by one point per session. Chance wanted to raise a specialization and I misunderstood at first and by the time I figured out what he was wanting decided to just let it go.

If you want a new skill - can get it at 1. If it is similar to another skill you have - can get it to 2. (still start at 1 then raise)

If you want to raise a skill or attribute - 1 point per scene. If the skill is similar and less than another you have - can go 2 points a scene. If you are using that skill in a significant way, or length of time (subjective) - can raise it up to 3 points. I think this is pretty lenient and more than fair.

What is the plan for leaving the scene of the crime? Who/what are you taking in which vehicle? I figured you hit the steel lynx hard enough to overturn it. I know you said something about running it over, but I didn't have the collision even damage your Bison or it. I had it positioned in the street next to the curb. You hit it and it overturned as it hit the curb sideways. This prevented the turret. with weapon mounted, from fully turning and unable to aim at most targets.

Come up with the logistics of it, and we'll get going to the next scene.

Sounds like we need to try some first aid to a few people. I have a Savior Medkit 6 which gives a -2TN on First Aid tests, along with +6D6. I have a 3 in First Aid if someone is better qualified to use it. (I could use it on the Deadly wounded to stabilize, then someone with better skill could use it to heal some damage. smile.gif ) In any case, we need to check for DocWagon bracelets and do something to keep from getting tracked again.

On divvying up the loot, I just remembered I still have a looted F2 spirit focus I was going to give to Sphinx, but never heard back. I am figuring some time between meeting the twins that I got it sold and bought elemental conjuring materials and watcher conjuring materials.

I'd like the ArmTech MGL6, smartgoggles if no one wants them, and the sunglasses. If I wind up with smartgoggles, then any smartlinked pistols a human or ork had. The only armor that might fit me is Skip's, and that looks like my armor list. wink.gif In other words, I have the exact same armor, so it would just be back-up for me. I'll only take it if no else can use it. I'm sure I'll need some in the future.

I can't use the cyberdeck, troll modified weapons, dwarf modified weapons, ork/troll/dwarf size armor, probably not much of the human female armor. Pistols is my only weapon skill, so that rules out most of the weapons. (I plan on defaulting to Intelligence 6 to fire the MGL6 as close only counts...)

I'd like the possessed shaman riding with me. We can start debriefing along the ride. My car is rigger equipped and remote modified. I figure some time in last few days I told Troy and got subscribed, so he could drive it remotely if it matters.

Once Skip is removed from his driver seat, Terry can drive the van if it has a manual override, otherwise will leave the driving to her cousin who can jack in. She's going to start with the tape and binding anyone that can recover and offer resistance if she's not driving. We're going to need to move out of the scene as soon as possible, and by alternate routes. Anyone have a suggestion for a gathering point? If we go by Tinker's last message, I suppose the street doc's place would be the most appropriate... unless anyone else can heal the possible Ripper before he dies.

I guess the big question would be, what to do with the opposing runners? We'll need to get to a place we can question them. Once questioned, do we let them live? Do we let them keep their gear? Are they going to want to get back at us for trumping them? I suppose the more of their gear we keep, the more they'll want it back.... but I'll let you guys decide on that.

I suggest that we divvy up their cash on the credsticks. The keys are most likely for their vehicles, though who knows where they're parked. Unless we learn where they've parked their vehicles, we might as well leave them with their keys.
We should probably liquidate/fence any weapons and gear not being claimed - unless we want to start a stockpile someplace... anyone have a hideout they can store hot gear?

I kind of agree with Dranem, about taking stuff. I like the idea of free stuff, but having people wanting to take it back isn't too free. Killing in cold blood doesn't seem so great either (we should have killed them during the action, damnit! smile.gif )

I think we take them and everything for now. Start questioning on way. Going to ask the spirit what's up IC now.

The Ripper
needs to go to Sarah and Tinker for whatever that leads to. I think if we get the opposing runners medical attention it needs to be somewhere else. From questions being asked by PM, the new PC is a Street Doc contact of someones and this is the way to bring them in. So to make it easier for the GM, we take Ripper to one and the other team to the new doc.

Maybe wait to lay claim to a majority of stuff until we find out what is up with this team. (Say we forgot/were afraid to pick up the steel lynx, and/or any other sweet little piece of gear that may have gotten dropped.)

I think the bike that got wheeled away took S or D damage, so it may not be running or in its last leg. It could get loaded in a van if it comes to that. Still leaves 1 more vehicle than we came in, but Terry says she can drive, or Troy could drive and remote control his RV and my car.

I'm also dismissing the F8 Manitou and conjuring another. F8, Conjuring 6, Willpower 7, Centering 6 (drain), Charisma 8 (M Stun Drain), Power Focus 2 for succ.

Dranem and G.E.M. - both raise escellent points and plans... think the gear could well be more trouble than it's worth and killing these guys while KO'd is just wrong to me. On the flipside, 'not collecting' the bits that were outdoors sounds quite reasonable.

I'd like to grab Misteress Howl's Walther rifle - figuring it's outside. Plus load the lynx into the bison - poor little thing did get forgotten! (I do hope the scout drone rack falls off in transit - but that might be too much to hope for!)

Troy knows an excellent street doc who we could use. Amanda Hoi - we can give her a ring and think she'd be the right person for this task. Kinda curious about what exactly these runners were up too...

On the security, my thinking was that the rigged networks are really tough to hack without the chips from the control deck. Although you're right - on balance that deck would probably be the shadowrun equivalent of password locked. Troy will check it out and see - perhaps it's 'unlocked' at the moment as Skip was using it. Or it might be a job for Tinker!


In the way of skill training then, I'd like to work on the rifles skill - get some longer range. I'd think it's similar to pistols, as it's handling a firearm - so would like to pump for a couple of points!

Knuckles would be hauling the ripper back to Rocky's car, then since it is similar distance and I remember having an obligation to move his meatsack back to Sarah's. Also leave more room for loading up Troy's van with phats if people are looting.

I guess its a bonus that he has a medkit on hand there, we might be able to treat him (I think I am not carrying any of my patches that arent loaded in auto-injectors, so that wont help stabilize him either).

Would go in for the Ork's pistols, but realistically he wouldnt be looting if he was attending to the Ripper.

*raises hand* I'm still alive, wow the past few weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster. When Tinker was placed in the hospital, it caused me to (with more real life bs than I care to think about) put my involvement on the back burner. I think I've got the main pieces of my life (family, employment, school) organized to the point were I can bring my attention back to the game.

If you guys (and gals) will have me back, I would like to take over running Tinker again once the Ripper is brought into Sara's clinic where he's been staying the past few days.

Righty, if it's ready to use, then I'll take the suggestion about leaving a vehicle here.

Troy will take their van and drive it over to Amanda's Hoi's place. This has the advantage of not needing to move most of the opposing runners (particularly the troll) into another vehicle.

He will throw some items into his own Bison - the Steel Lynx, that sniper rifle and the pistols that Knuckles wanted. Plus anything anyone else wants. Then remotely move the van to off a couple of blocks and park it, order it to change colours (something shabby), change plates and alert him if anyone touches it! I'd have it drive back to his storage facility instead, but not sure how good the navicomp is/how legal that is?

Could I get someone as a rider in the runners van - keep a gun trained on them. Fighting and driving at the same time really has to be asking for trouble?
