Been a bit of dead couple of weeks, so this is mostly a re-hash of a few interesting items that remain unsold.

Okay, this is old but there are now two copies of the complete set of Shadowrun manga. Other set.

I was about *this* close to talking my girlfriend into buying this just now...and then I noticed the shipping.

G'damn. If anyone in the community wants to buy it, rip it, and scan it for the good of the community though...

I must admit to being deeply tempted myself. Maybe if there's one still around when I wrap up my thesis.

See if you can get people to chip in towards it? Take up a collection? smile.gif

seeing minis makes me wonder what a 3D printer can be used for. That is, if it can produce small enough details...

Not all that much. Rapid Prototyping is still mostly in the prototyping phase instead of the rapid phase.
And let's not speak about the cost of this stuff. It's usually uni-colour, though people could paint them.
But those 3d-Printers still cost 10k+$ for the most part, if i remember the prices correctly.

HP sells one for around 15000 right now. But there is always the "build it yourself" route:

It's been a while.

First up, another piece of Earl Grier art. This one is a specific image from the classic module Dreamchipper. I had a brief nostalgia-fit when I saw it.

An entire box of Shadowrun Underworld CCG boosters, for what amounts to a reasonable price...so far. Depends on the bidding.

I'm including this one for the WTF factor: SR Clicky figure...or figures? I honestly can't tell if the seller is trying to offload just one or a box of 14 of the same figure. It's a mystery.

Yet another copy of the scarce Japanese Shadowrun video game.

Speaking of video games, anyone who pays $5 + shipping for a manual to a video game I will beat you with a show.

Speaking of EBay, I was planning to acquire a handful of the old edition sourcebooks in time. As a newcomer to Shadowrun (with only 4th Edition experience) I understand that many of the old books still has great information about the world. Not gunning for a big collection, but wish to find a few books that has material that we probably wont see again (at least not for a while).

For example the two NAN books seems to be interesting. The group I play with has been playing a long Western campaign, which awakened an interest for the period in me (Western is a Swedish RPG, http://rollspel.com/western/spelet/w44.htm). Which also transfered to the Shadowrun Native American Nations. :)

Is it a good idea to get a few of the big event books too? Like the Comet ones and Renraku Archology for example.

There's pay-per-piece services that will take your model and mail you back the printed pieces.

For miniature-sized stuff the prices aren't horrible. Not great, but if you're willing to shell out 20-40 bucks for a totaly custom fig, it's doable.

I use http://www.shapeways.com on occasion. They can even print metal pieces.

Jolly good idea. Where would one get the 3D-data?

Always beware buying German SR novels, or at the very least do a quick online translation before you bid. This item, for example, is a German translation of Find Your Own Truth, the third novel in Shadowrun's Secrets of Power trilogy - and which you can get in English for about a buck plus shipping. That said, the Germans have produced their own original and unique Shadowrun novels. Which are all in German.

which, for the most part, suck ass . .

To be fair, there are some real gems among these - the Heintz cycle, the Hallmann sisters books, and - if you like the strange - the Cash books by that crazy Austrian. Der Schattenlehrling deserves a mention as the most stereotypical rape-heavy character background ever. While it sucks as a novel, the parodistic value cannot be denied. Also, Horizon-run child snuff porn BTL ring. Those might be good for translation and release, unless FanPro's demise and the zombie rump company somehow trying to hold onto publishing rights complicates matters too much. Of course, since there are reissuings by another printer, it seems someone headshot the FanPro Zombie ...

Mostly I agree though ... Nordlichter ... D'oh ...

Friend of mine does that the Gutenberg way - he does a negative with Silicon and replicates using Resin. Trickier and less cyberpunk thn the 3D printer, but infinitly cheaper, too. He's made himself everal 40K armies this way. Including tanks and all.

Also, has anything happened on the Manga front?
Stahlseele
i'm sorry, but heitz is more or less the reason why i stopped reading the german produced shadowrun books . .

It's brainless fun. But YMMV. I also enjoy the Smyth books whenever I can blank out what horrible sues he has for main characters. There's far worse among the German books IMO. Die Anfänger, Digitaler Alptraum, Hand am Hort, Böses Erwachen. The other Wiesler books (Altes Eisen, Feuerzauber, Im Namen des Herrn) are okay though. Again, YMMV.
Stahlseele
I liked "Altes Eisen".
And Shelley.
hermit
Shelley, right, forgot that. Hated Boeses Erwachen though. Guy crammed two perfectly fine characters into one and was like LOL Multiple Personalities LOL. Also, Baal the tripod. Was that supposed to be funny? Same penile fixiation as HaJo Alpers. What the hell.

Props for nuking Wurstphalen, though.
Stahlseele
You remember the Character named "Larve" or something like that?
Look at Karl Ruprecht Kroenen . . That's him, right there . .
hermit
Oh my god, the nazi steampunk cyberzombie. Yeah. That's perfect.
Stahlseele
*nods* i thought so

With Baal, I always thought of Mini-Me from the third Austin Powers movie, the "tripod" scene.
