It certainly is on the Dumpshock Scale.

(I could try to make myself look superior now by making up some excuse about how managing to prove some non-existant fact about yourself might prove one's own superiority to oneself, if one is sick and twisted enough to want others to believe one is sadistic. Not that I'd know anything about that sort of thing.)

why would a Corp Weapons designer that never leaves AA or AAA security need a heavy pistol for??

To add my own 2 cents in... I think I remember reading in one of the sourcebooks (the Corp book?) as part of a discussion about how security rules / legality codes differ between corps...

Ares citizens have the right to bear arms on Ares property.

Remember that next time you cause a ruckus on Ares turf. Your mark may be packing. So might the guy next to him. And the secretary. And the janitor down the hall...

But it really doesn't matter. They may be armed, but they're still marks.

Ok The Info on the Extraction Target was that she was a Long time Ares Employee now in the Service of The Knight.  She had deceased Parents and a Deceased Ex-Husband...

Isn't KE a subsidiary of Ares? What's the big deal? Were they supposed to guess her background from the state of her apartment? How about some laminated obituaries in her sock drawer? Pictures?

the Johnson is another former Associate believed to be dead so he hired them to protect her.

This has got to be the stupidest Johnson ever. (Well, maybe not ever.) He is setting them up for failure by witholding information. Is "X" the guys name? Then why not tell the runers who the assasin is? Why not provide them some means to reassure the mark that they are there to help her?

Maybe because the GM was trying to be too clever? Fine, the Johnson doesn't want to give away that he is alive, but he still wants to prevent the woman from dying. Procedd from there. Why are they extracting her in the first place, to make it easier for the assasin to reach her? The runners are more than likely [B]not[B] going to be in a more secure are.

The Johnson could have the runners warn the target and pay them to assist her defense. But no, he has to make up some bulldrek story that puts everyone at more risk. Are you sure Mr J isn't on X's side? Or is he X?
