Bullet Storm loves explosions, the trids and 2d flatscreen action movies he grew up on were always filled with them. Because he love explosions he has always been attracted to grenades. Seeing heroes being able to blind-toss thermite grenades over their shoulder through the partially open window of a moving car made little O'Conner's blood race. Unfortunately, the Barrens never had a plethora of grenades to practice with, so he never developed any skill with parabolic arcs and backspins that would have made him an effective grenadier, nor did it give him a real sense of the strength needed to accurately throw a grenade the required distance to a target, and no more.

These thoughts passed through his mind as he saw his tear gas grenade arc to the right and explode harmlessly in the open lot beyond the orcs he was throwing at.

(long range throw, -5 to skill pool, 0 hits remaining)

Most of the orcs did notice him throw the grenade though and decided to shoot him instead of the car.

Combat Round 1 - Initiative Pass 2
While disappointed with the result of his toss, it did get the opposition's attention. He weaved through the majority of it, but did take a hit to the solar plexus. His armor held, but frag did that hurt. He decided to attribute the hit to the background count mucking up his abilities rather than credit it to enemy skill. He commed the slow pokes on his team, <"Got the competition's attention. Check the van for the target.">

O'Connor aimed for the most exposed target.

Combat Round 1 - Initiative Pass 4
He switched to the second most exposed target. Usually he only switched targets after confirming the kill, but figured that screaming wounded may be a benefit at this junction.

Round 1, IP2

Seeing that O'Connor was okay for now, Sammy decided to use caution and moved so she could see who was behind the van (and hopefully get there without being exposed later).
Crossbow
Starlet and Torley do their level best to get an angle where they can see who or what is hiding behind the van that is only reminiscent of white at this point with all of the bullet holes and small flames, but the angle is just not there. To be able to see that they will have to actually enter the killzone and be subject to automatic fire.

Lil Homie reaches the corner and performs what could be called suppression fire only under the most generous of definitions. He stuck the AK around the corner completely blindly and cut loose, most of the shots carrying well over anyones head.

O'Conners first shots dropped the mook with the temerity to actually cause him blood loss, he is screaming but still alive behind his cover, but the second set all hit a pickup that several of them are using for their hiding place.

Combat Round 2 - Initiative Pass 1
O'Connor noted Lil' Homie had good instincts, but lacked the experience to be effective in this instance. Not that he had room to judge given his own grenade toss. He flipped his rifle's selector switch to full auto and also laid down suppressive fire. Maybe they'd get lucky and Lil' Homie's ill aimed fire would embolden the enemy to run into his more accurate volley. He called into his comm, <"Laying down suppressive fire, move up to the target.">

Knowing that she wasn't good at dodging, Sammy decided to go the other way. So with a few gestures she made herself invisible. And with all the gunfire, she didn't need to worry about being heard. Only then did she start moving. And while she knew that an invisibility spell could be broken, she hoped those shooters were too busy shooting at each other to notice.

Torley takes the opportunity to sprint for the van. He comes around the corner and sees a blur of white around a BIG FREAKING PISTOL.

Unless reduced to 0 Test Body+Willpower+1/2 impact[3]

The blur leans past him and fires again, missing Starlet, but not by much and then races into the darkness of Surulere.

(OOC: Starlet can still use her movement to carry her to the van or not. Bullet Storm can take remaining actions.)

O'Connor smiled as the idiots exposed themselves to incoming fire and paid the price for it. His smile widened as he effortlessly weaved through their return assault.

Starlet will run towards the van, as it will give some cover from some of the fire. Better than staying in the open.

He slapped a fresh mag in his rifle and fired at a different dumbass.

Torley is curled up in a ball, wondering about his life choices. A twitch here, a wiggle there, he slowly comes out of the shock.

'At his first chance' isn't coming any time soon.
Crossbow
That's 2 effectively down hurt and two more a little bloody. Bullet Storm has everybody's attention as they all stay close to cover and change fire modes. There is a lot of talk that O'Conner doesn't understand the words of, but "Kill that FRAGGER!!" sounds suprisingly similar in any language.

Top of the order.
Necrogigas
Combat Round 3 - Initiative Pass 1
O'Connor knew he was about to be lit the frag up. Suppressive fire only worked when the enemy was smart enough to have self preservation instincts. He opted instead to pop smoke on his current position. He then pulled back and repositioned closer to the van. He commed Lil' Homie, "Stay low and position yourself off center to the van. Hopefully they rush through the smoke and we can catch them in a crossfire."

round 3, IP1

Still invisible (that was sustained by her sustaining focus), Starlet looked around the van and further down the street from the other side as where they were coming from, she conjured up a trio of Orcs in full milspec armour who seemed to have dropped out of invisibility and who started shooting at the area boys from the other side (missing of course, but being very threatening nevertheless. This was an illusion she had used before, although not yet in Lagos. She did feel an headache coming up from the casting, probably due to the poor mana pool here.
<<Those guys are my illusion>>, she sent to the rest of the team so they knew.

[ Spoiler ]
Crossbow
With Bullet Storm's hot smoke in the way, it is difficult to tell if Starlet's illusion is having any real effect. The Area Boys seem much more concerned with the shadowrunner that dropped 2 of theirs.

combat round 3, IP2

Seeing as she was keeping up a spell and it took quite a lot of concentration, she wasn't about to add more spells into the mix in this environment. So she grabbed her pistol, looked around the van and shot at one of the area boys.

Combat Round 3 - Initiative Pass 3
Con was wishing for the umpteenth time that he had Clem and Snow over Torley and Starlet at his back. He and Clem would already have cut down most of this mob of drekstains, and Snow would have stims on hand to keep them going. The two that were here needed to stop fragging around get eyes on the target already. He was not going to be able to hold the tide back for much longer. Plus, he was already using up more ammo than he wanted at this point. He aimed at a cluster of ganger in the smoke.

Combat Round 3 - Initiative Pass 4

One of the orks tries to flank Bullet Storm, unfortunately for him he picked the corner that Lil Homie was hiding behind.

The poor fragger was stitched from foot to face and the street kid was SHOWERED in blood. That makes three dead or dying.

Bullet Storm also scored significant wounds on the last two uninjured Area Boys.

O'Connor commed his team, "Status?" His focus so far had been dedicated to the gangers, with a bit spared to keep an eye on Lil' Homie. Speaking of whom, the kid had just made an impressive mess of one of the orks. He wondered if that was the kid's first kill. Something to talk about with him later.

He fired at one of the gangers, really hoping this group would take a fragging hint already.

The Area Boy you were shooting at makes a near miraculous defense and still takes a hit. The two of you lock eyes for a second through parting of the smoke caused by the gunfire, you don't know him from Adam, but as the shoulder that most of the hit comes down he clearly recognizes you.

The Area Boy being shot at makes a near miraculous defense and still takes a hit. Bullet storm locks eyes for a second through parting of the smoke caused by the gunfire. While he doesn't know the ebony metahuman from Adam, as the shoulder that took most of the hit comes down, the African clearly recognizes him.

"Ọ bụ mmụọ ekwensu, GBAA ỌSỌ!"

There is no return fire as the orks who can, make a run for it.

Bullet Storm spares a glance for Lil Homie and he does not look good. The weapon is falling from his hands as he covers his mouth.

Necrogigas
O'Connor didn't have Torley's ear for languages but he remembered Little Buddy's local name. Personally, he thought the ganger was being a bit melodramatic calling him a demon. His performance in this fight had been rather poor. The guy seemed to recognize him, probably from that tussle Frosty started the other day. Maybe the Area Boys would get a clue and steer clear.

So clearly that was Lil' Homie's first kill. He walked over and knelt in front of him. He placed his hand on the kid's shoulder, "It's okay. You're okay. Breath, just breath. In... one... two... three. Out... one... two... three. Take a moment, but we have to move soon. You did great in that fight. Welcome to the Shadows."

Lil' Homie could probably use a bit more in way of comforting words, but there wasn't a good speech or pretty words that could make it all better. The kid took a life, and he was going to have to process that. He'd sit the kid down and really talk about it once the job was done.

Con scrounged through Lil' Homie's kill looking for ammo, stims, and the like. He sat on the hood of a car to catch his breath and reloaded his spent magazines. The others may have found it morbid, or beneath them, but Con was glad he'd been scrounging ammo off the dead since they got to this continent. He effectively ran out of explosive ammo for his rifle, minus a few rounds, in the fight at the compound. He had two magazines of APDS rounds, but he really wanted to save that for someone important, like those Aztech guys they'd lost track of.
Crossbow
"I think I swallowed some."

That was all Lil Homie said for a bit, but he responded to O'Conner instructions.

Once the runner started searching bodies, the kid got it together and when to check any Area Bo(d)ys left.
pbangarth
Torley's brain still swirls, and words come out more like grunts. "Aaat wy," and he points in the direction the white robe ran.
farothel
Sammy dismisses the illusion spells, but keeps the 'go faster' spell up for the moment. She first has a quick look in the van for anything that might be of interest, before looking in the direction Torley pointed, she then at O'Connor.
"That way apparently," she said, "let's go."
Necrogigas
O'Connor hopped off the car, and grimaced. He had not come out of that fight nearly as well as he usually did. He called to the others, "You two get through that skirmish alright? There was a lot of lead flying." He'd have to play things far more tactically from here on out. Unfortunately the terrain probably wouldn't allow him to hang back and play marksman. The other problem was that the only one here he trusted to pull their weight in a fight was Lil' Homie. Speaking of whom, he eyed the kid, checking if he was actually holding it together or was disassociating.
Crossbow
Lil Homie is definitely disassociating, but he is also a tough kid.

However, when he sees Starlet pointing into Surulere the facade cracks, "NO, no way, not going that way! No one goes into Surulere!"

Before you can really get into it, Frosty comms. No word on who the Area Boys are working for, but the drone feed I have hitched on is still following Medjay, he is moving through that dark area faster than drek through a goose. You can't catch him on foot, but you might be able to cut him off in a vehicle going around."
Necrogigas
"Copy that, Frosty. Moving out." He took the wheel of the vehicle that seemed least damaged from the skirmish, "Lil' Homie, you got shotgun. Let's go!"
farothel
Sammy followed O'Connor. She could drive, provided there was gridlink, so she wasn't going to try over here.
pbangarth
Torley, clumsily, jumps in with the rest.
Crossbow
With all four of you seated and secure, Bullet Storm lays down rubber as he turn the old sedan in a tight circle and barrels down Western Avenue. Almost immediately, just out of sight of the intersection in fact, you see an expensive looking military pouch hanging from a street sign. it is swinging slightly, as if it were just put there, but there is not a metahuman to be found.
pbangarth
Torley pipes up, "Oh! That is either a trap or something nice. Check it out?"
Necrogigas
O'Connor stopped outside of the potential blast radius, "Could be an IED. Starlet can you get a spirit to check it out?"
farothel
"Yeah, just a moment, the mana is really screwed up in this place," Sammy said as she switched side to the astral to call up a spirit of air. It took some doing but in the end a small spirit showed up.
"I would like you to manifest on the material and check out what's in that sack and inform me of its contents," Sammy said to the spirit.

[ Spoiler ]
Crossbow
The spirit, another little dude with an African mask, flew up to the device and manipulated it in a way you can't see, then it returned.

"It is a pouch with a lot of smaller packages and a computerized device. The pouch has a prominent red cross on it."
Necrogigas
O'Connor eyed the pouch skeptically, "I mean, I could really use a medkit and stims at the moment." He motioned to his tac-vest that had several, several, bullets lodged in it, "But this is rather too convenient, right?" Even though he expressed doubt, there really wasn't time to dither about, "Frag it. Lil' Homie, take the wheel and back up in case it explodes. If I die, pour one out for me after succeeding in your first shadowrun." He got out and went to retrieve the dubious identified medkit.
Crossbow
It isn't dubious at all, you can see it more clearly as the combat medkits you have heard are carried in the Corp Wars by real soldiers. It is not fully stocked, but the suppiies will be good for 2, maybe 3 uses, and the Autodoc is top notch.

In addition to the regular medical supplies, you find a R6 Stim patch, a Trama patch and 1 dose each of Jazz, Kamikazi and Nitro, all clearly marked packaged with all of the warning labels and legal jargon, primarily in Sperethiel, but English is the first alternate language.
Crossbow

Necrogigas
O'Connor pocketed the stim patch, planning on using it at the start of the next fight. He held out the popper of Jazz to Torley, "This'll put a bit of vigor in you next time we throw down. High chance the other combat drugs flatline us, but good for last stands." He started fiddling with the medkit, "Anyone trained on how to use this?"
pbangarth
Torley raises his eyebrows at O'Connor's comments, but pockets the drug. "Anybody can use one of those things, even if they don't have a clue. The machine just does it's thing. Probably should be used by someone who isn't hurt.

"I think it can be used before magic is applied to the wounds. Is that right, Sammy?"
farothel
"I've seen them a few times when I was still doing backstage work," Sammy said, "as Torley said, it's quite easy to use. And I think you can use it in conjunction with magic, but my magic doesn't work on bruises and such, only on more serious wounds. I have no idea why, but that's just how things work."
Necrogigas
O'Connor directed Lil' Homie and Torley to get in the front, and to get a move on before they fell too far behind. He got in the back with Starlet so that she could assist him with the medkit.
farothel
Sammy took a bit of time to check out this particular model. They all had similar functions, but companies always put buttons and things in slightly different positions.
"Well, you hook it up to the patient like this...," she started while she did so, "I'll not use too many drugs if you don't need to, as those can be addictive and we certainly don't want that."
She continued to set the machine to get it to take the edge of O'Connor's wounds.

[ Spoiler ]
Necrogigas
O'Connor packed up the first aid kit when Starlet finished. He felt a bit better. Between that and the stim patch, he'd be able to fight well enough. He nodded to Starlet, "Thank you." He really didn't get along with the mage, but he wasn't ungrateful for the assistance. He turned his attention to Lil' Homie, "I want you to hold on to the medkit. If any of us take bad hits, be sensible and no heroics. The kit is worthless if you go down trying to get it to us."
Crossbow
Lil Homie took the pouch and strapped it around his chest, making sure it was snug. He had had a bit of a look of hurt when O'Conner had passed the combat drug to Torley, but had said nothing. Now he acted as if he had been presented the Crown Jowels for safekeeping.

The delay caused by the aquisition of the medkit and it's subsequent use have definitely put you behind. As the car rumbles through the night, skirting the edge of Surulere, Jane reports that Medjay has crossed the district and is returning to expressway traffic in Mushin.

Lil Homie looks at Starlet worriedly, "Mushin is controlled by Awori, they are strict adherants to Sharia Law. You should cover yourself or we may be interfered with, Miss." He looks embarassed as he delivers the instruction.
pbangarth
Torley smiles at Sammy. "When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Especially if the Romans are uncompromising fanatics. " He's a little hesitant about the popper of Jazz. He's heard of some weird drek that happens if you use it a lot.
farothel
Sammy's first thought was to tell them to go fuck themselves, but then she realised that this wasn't professional. And the gods knew she had to do a lot worse things during her movie career. So she took a shawl and put it over her head as a headscarf, hoping that this would be enough.
