Well the Stillwater column is probably still out-gunned by the Azzies here, that's why you lot have been sent in advance to soften them up! This is a military installation, the Stillwater lot are a bunch of hippie transhumanists who happen to have squirrelled away (no pun intended nyahnyah.gif) a stash of milspec kit, mostly older stuff with a few mechas from somewhere...

As an aside, I'm considering starting a new recruitment thread for another Emerging chapter along very different lines to this one. Apart from the fact that you'd both be very welcome to join that one, please don't think that means I am abandoning this game completely, but as I said before I will wind things up a bit over the next few months as it's a bit difficult to sustain this game at the moment. Nobody's fault, just one of those things I guess. And the concept probably would work better face to face, or I hesitate to say it, as a computer game nyahnyah.gif

Hmmm, not sure an AI would fit into the Eurpean Nobles scene without some shoe horning. He/She/It would probably be better off holding out for a subsequent Emerging chapter - there will be more!

He/She/It could conceivably be one of the secondary NPCs I suppose but I think a new central protagonist would be required - but please feel free to try and convince me otherwise smile.gif ...or to make a new character for that thread!

Funny you should mention that...when/if you try and log out, you find that you can't!

I'll give you some stats for the metal golum you are currently inhabiting soon...it will balance with the Mecha that Tris is inside (in addition to the milspec armour he owns already!)

Well you are both free to post - you are currently hurtling towards the jungle in the grip of a spell - the last thing you remember are nasty tentically things!!! You both made your composure tests though so you've staved off insanity for now ork.gif

Mal is a Voodoo spirit, so he's throwin in some voodoo-vocab.

Bokor: evil spellcaster. Tris doesn't follow the path (voodoo), so he's not "good".
Loa: good voodoo spirit. Mal.
Petro: evil voodoo spirit.

This is all from about 2 minutes of googling, so I could be using it terribly incorrectly. Apologies to any Voodoo practitioners I might offend with this.

Note: I don’ think spirits can usually use foci but this one is contrary to RAW and has been woven into the fibre of the body so that you can access it while you possess the body. I am assuming you don’t have any firearms skill but I couldn’t locate your sheet offhand nyahnyah.gif

Hopefully that seems to be about equal bonus for the two of you - call it hard work pay smile.gif Feel free to comment if you want any modifications to these, open to suggestions...

check your e-mail. I see no notation of karma earned, so I'm thinking I don't have any. sad day. Plus I didn't have a chance to forge any pacts with Redshirts. Double-sad day. I'll shift the focus to my one spell: Healing! Health focus, go!

This'll teach me to build a support character... >_>

Oh, you get 1 karma and 2500 credits for 2 IC posts. It's the same rule as in the 2072 thread. smile.gif By now, you should have enough for some spells. ^_^

1) can I spend some of that cash to upgrade the homunculus? if so, should I use vehicle upgrades, armor upgrades, or cyberware?
2) are the other stats for the homunculus equal to the one in Street Magic (Ag: F-1, R: F-1)?

1 - It's based on the same vehicle chasis that Tris is in so I think vehicle upgrades would be ok...
2 - Sounds reasonable, I find the possession rules make my head hurt so unless you find anything to counter that then that sounds fine to me!

I found your cha sheet in a sub folder so at least I can track that now nyahnyah.gif You're right, you're not an amazing caster but your spirit powers are nasty so that's ok - in the homunculous you'll be physically impressive too!

You want more armour?!? That's 18 already with your force!!! I honestly can't remember how I built the original vehicle but you can probably increase that with corresponding reductions in speed etc...

12 reg and ITNW (must do at least 12 damage before I even roll against it. total of 24 armor.) ^_^

But you can always have more armor! 'Specially since I need the "Big Guns"

Self-Repair: 9000 nuyen { if <7 damage done to me, repair 1 in a minute.}
Nitrous Injection: 2500 nuyen {running acceleration +20}

Speed Engine Customization: 1620 nuyen {bump speed up to 64.8. bumps ram damage to 18-enemy, 6-me.}
total: 17420 nuyen

how much of a speed reduction would 14 normal armor impose? I'd rather not drop my max-speed below 61, so I'll reduce the armor amount to allow that.

That stuff on the mecha looks good to me. I don't know what half of it means, but it reads deadly. nyahnyah.gif

I took a little liberty with the IC post. I'm not sure if Tris notices the sudden change in existence at first based on a failed perception check earlier. Also, did Tris' spirits disappear when we changed scenes? It's no biggie, I'm just curious before I start writing for them. smile.gif

Hi all

I am new to play by forum, although I have played quite a lot of shadowrun using pen and paper.

I read in the Circles of Power game that you were looking for more players for this game.

If there is any space how would I join in? and what sort of character would be the most helpful?

A few character creation questions: I am reading the introductory section in which the Mecha are described. Given the above response a super heavy mecha looks like a good start. I've only played with mechas in steam-punk before, it sounds cool to use them in shadowrun. The stats of a BAE Titan Super Heavy Mecha [H 3, Ac 3/14, Sp 54, P 4, B 10, A 20, S 6]. I'm guessing thats Handing 3, Body 10, Armor 20! . I'm not sure what other other stats mean.
  • Is the mecha effectively a drone that you are inside, or are you wearing it?
  • In other words do I really want to to design a rigger type of character who can jump in / captains chair, or are we just treating them as armor which you wear and use your own attributes with?
  • Do we use gunnery or heavy weapons to target the ranged weapons?

The mechas here are vehicles, so a rigger jumped-in was how I visualised them. As such gunnery is your skill of choice. You might find a link to the one other player who played a hvy mecha at the beginning of the thread and use that as a starting point if you like?
H=Handling
Ac=Acceleration
Sp=Speed
P=Pilot
B=Body
A=Armour
S=Sensors (worth looking up sensor targetted gunnery in the main rule book!)

Haruko was originally a member of the Renraku Red Samurai. During an attack on the Seattle Arcology, by eco-terrorists lead by the Greewar eco-terrorists, Haruko was crippled by an unpleasant bio-toxin. Radical experimental surgury failed to save her, so she was offered three choices: Death, Cyber-Zombie or Brain in a Superheavy Mecha.

Now little more than a head and a torso, Haruko makes the most of her current position. She gets to frag things, make friends, and life is one big video game. Perhaps the reality of her position hasn't become clear to her, or perhaps its all those anti-depressants, but Haruko is determined to make the most of her second chance at life.

You'd need to double all prices as I maxed out the mod slots building these beasties! And no, you can't have a ram plate on a mecha smile.gif

Each armour rating in body ratings lowers speed so probably 2 factors in this case?!? Without checking the rules too thoroughly we'll say if you buy the turbo charger you can offset the speed reduction...

And becuase I'm feeling manic on this wet Monday morning I'll say that your mech is equipped with a flamer ork.gif You can't use any kind of targetting but it doesn't take much skill to the pull the trigger on this thing when it's pointing the right direction!

Thanks Aria, I've posted.

I'm not sure how perception works for in a mecha. I am currently hot rigged

My perception is about 19 die I think. There might also be a tacnet bonus. I'm including the numbers, although I am not enough of a shadowrun expert to know if they are all relevant.
  • Sensor's: 6
  • Hot Sim: 2
  • Perception: 4
  • Perceptive Quality: 1
  • Vision Enhancement: 3
  • Attention coprocessors: 3


I'm going to spend a few moments Observing in Detail in order to make sense of what is going on, while I wait for a sitrep. Do I roll perception tests, or do I get you to?

Roll 10 for yourself and then I will randomise between them so you don't know which one will be applied ork.gif Same goes for the others.

Can I also have an initiative roll from each of you (and two from JxJxA - one for Tris and one for the mecha - if you can look up self controlled drones for that one...? If not I'll look it up for you later)
