Cedric Rolfsson
Nah, I rolled them last night at home, (I use the Irony Game Server roller) and it took forever to do all the necessary rolls. I'll just leave it where it is.
Tashio
Yea probably a good idea to discuss things relating to the team that are not related to issues going on directly in the main threads.

At what stage of the negotiations are we coming in at. From what I see its basicaly the begining which technicaly means we're taking a huge risk flying everything in for something that "might" not happen. Hope they can afford us, something like this would probably cost a couple mil smile.gif
Fenris
Basically, a contract has been laid out, and you guys are being flown in to negotiate the deal first hand, hopefully with more information. I assume Drake is usually your front man.

Your company has it on a reputation that it trusts that the deal is solid and legit, at least as much as any shadow deal can be.

You also know your team comes highly recommended.
Aku
that makes me think, are we even ALL going to the meet? or are we just sending the face in to get the details? if we all go in, i would still suggest a one man voice, unless directly questioned. I know it's going to make a boring meet for most of us, but i think its the way it'd be
gobogen
I agree with Aku on this one.
Cedric Rolfsson
I assumed the team leader and one other man would go to the meeting. I like the idea of working in pairs for safety. The rest of the team should spend the time setting up the base, maintaining vehicles, weapons, all that other military stuff.

I would suggest that Styx and Drake go to the meeting. I think the rest of the team should prep the base of operations and vehicles.
Cedric Rolfsson
Sparky has 6 months of high lifestyle for us as a "base" unless anyone objects I'm going to suggest that "base" be a small warehouse in Issaquah off Sunset Drive. The reason I'd suggest that is because it is east of Lake Washington which is easily closed down by Lone Star, easy access to I-90 and just a short drive to the SSC border. The warehouse can have accomodations for 8 easily enough and we'd be able to stash our vehilces in there without causing any real comment. Also, according to SR2 the Acid Rain biker gang uses a similar set up and the authorites can't find them.

If the team prefers we can call it a brownstone three story abandoned apartment building in Redmond which has been quietly upgraded to a High lifestyle standard. Underground parking area etc. and we can have the whole building to ourselves.

Unless anyone objects, I'm spending 130,000 nuyen for 10 vidlink/microcam units which we can use for surviellance and security.

Is everyone okay with Styx as Element Leader, Drake as Second in Command? Taxi, Boomer, Indi, and Brithan have volunteered for Squad member jobs which leaves Carnes and Foxfire as Squad leaders correct? Frosty if you want the Element Leader spot its yours, I'll take either a Squad Leader or Second in Command job if you do.

Since we only have until tomorrow to produce the final price list I'm going to suggest we take Taisho's list:

MPUVs(2) after SI = 3,436,400
UAV Drones(5) = 726,600
Ammo per list = 820,000
Subtotal = 4, 983,000

Added to my list with Med Military armor: 4,216,800

4,983,000 + 4,216,800 = 9,199,800

We have 800,200 left to spend if those are accepted minus the 130,000 for vidlink/microcam units I proposed above.

Taisho, did your list include the weapons etc on the vehicles and drones? If not we need to include those immediately and we'll revise the rest of the spending.
Tashio
I have the LMG's for the UAV's.

That MPUV is a very large APC smile.gif

Missiles for the APC's would be taken from the pool I had listed same for drones. . I need either 2 auto cannons or 2 assault cannon's not sure which would be prefered.

Sparky needs some drones as well not sure whether she has bought them or not or still needs to. We can probably take one APC each.
HeySparky
I got a handful of drones with my starting cash. Just needs guns and ammo for them. Will get a better list - they won't be armed with anything TOO ridiculous.
Cedric Rolfsson
2 Vigiliant Rotary Autocannons after SI 5 = 900,000

We'll need to reduce spending somewhere for those autocannons, which I consider a priority. I think we can make a few minor mods, like on ammo and stuff and fit it in pretty easy.

Fenris, with some minor mods on the ammo spending to fit in the Autocannons, we can't afford the assault cannons, that should cover the basic spending.
Fenris
Sounds good wink.gif Hope you guys got all the goodies you wanted wink.gif
gobogen
There's about 50,000 more to spend since instead of the military grade armor and helmet, my character would rather have his full equipped Heavy sec suited with the ruthenium I mentionned before. That saves about 50k.
Cedric Rolfsson
Okay, we'll take out one set of mil armor and go with your sec armor for you then, we need to modify the spending to allow for 900K for hte cannons, but that shouldn't be terribly hard, we'll just cut the fat a little here and there. I allocated 100,000 on my list for spare clips, ammo etc. that we can easily use to make up the diff.

Anyone have any medical gear or repair facilities?

Do we have an acknowledged team set up here?

Styx- Element Leader
Drake - 2nd Command
Firefox/Carnes Squad leaders
Boomer, Taxi, Brithian, and Indiana as Squad Members.

Aku
Re:team

That sounds fine to me for a general scope, but do we need/want to decide who is going to be specialist leaders? For instance, if we need to blow a couple of somethings up all simultaneously, do we want to nominate specialists for those roles now, or worry about it if it comes up? I know I Boomer has extensive knowledge of engineering, and so MIGHT fit that well, but i'm not sure who/what other experience other demo's might have
gobogen
Indiana has very limited knowledge in Civil Engineering (2) and a decent skill level in Commercial Explosives Demolition (6). As a team, you know that he's not necessarily as good at demolition as he should be. While he shows good skills, he seems to often make stupid mistakes which reduce the effect of his intended demolition.
Cedric Rolfsson
Reality is that most of the time the specialist is going to state what they need to get the job done and then Drake is going to figure out how to make that happen is how I envision things. I'll supervise smile.gif
FrostyNSO
Drake has no problem being SIC.

Anybody got prices for that junk on my list? I can't get the stinking program to get running on this computer for some reason.
Fenris
Alright guys, I'm hoping for a little more action from the 8 of you wink.gif What's everybody doing before the meet?
Aku
I've stated my afternoon, although, i released after i left IC, that the details of who was going to the meet wasnt determined while i was there. I think we're agreeing that only the leader, and and face (and 2nd in command, if those happen to be the same person), but that was all an ooc convo here in this thread, so if someone could be considerate enough to give me a call with those details, otherwise i'll be uninvitingly showing up at the meet
Cedric Rolfsson
FrostyNCO price list:

EX Explosive Ammo 60 per 10 rounds

I found no price for custom grips.
Fenris
Cedric - That's because it's not a flat cost. Personalized Grips are custom modification and follow the rules for modifying weapons in CC p.80. If you don't have a weapon smith contact, you can assume the work is done by a gunsmith with a skill of 4, and pay the appropriate costs for time worked and parts.
FrostyNSO
I wish we had those choppers so we could run a more fluid operation and take this guy down in transit, but we have to play the hand dealt us, so too bad.

Hopefully we can get those blueprints and a real picture of the area, but until then we'll have to wing it a bit. The good news is that the compound has that 100 meter kill-zone surrounding it with buildings beyond that. These will provide great cover for our team, while keeping them from getting anywhere without us being a position to interdict. We will have the initiative and it will be hard to shift.

Firstly, I want drone coverage to watch our backs and keep an eye out for Lone Star response, as well as an observer to keep airial observation during the op.

We can assault the place from beyond the "clear-zone" using long-range weaponry, where we will undoubtably outclass them due to the nature of the terrain. If they keep coming, just keep killing, but I'm expecting they will eventually fall into the compound and try to hunker down. While we maintain cover, the extraction team can go in, hopefully with drone support from us.

For our demo guys: Will you need to be onsite for this operation, and follow the extraction team in? Or did you have something else in mind? A large enough rocket strike may be able to do the trick.

This is just a tenative plan, so hopefully we'll get some more information and be able to refine it (or completely rework it!).

Anybody else have some input?
Aku
i'd like to take a gander at any sort of prints we might be able to get first, and see just how many of these buildings we have to modify... if it's only one, eh, rockets might not be too bad... if it's multiple, i would suggest we go in and wire something on site.

Another alternative, with more punch than off the shelf rockets, might be to jury rick our own mobile explosives, something we can fire off during a fire fight, hopefully making any external resistance think they're duds, and then explode them as neccessary. This is going to have a downside of needing ALOT of extra explosives to make sure theres enough incse they dont land at exact the right spots.
FrostyNSO
Lone Star is going to be a problem. I was thinking we need something to invoke massive law-enforcement response elsewhere. The first thing that comes to mind is a big big bang. I'd rather not risk any of our team on a distraction op unless it's totally neccessary.

Aku, what kind of delivery system did you have in mind for those "dummies"?
Tashio
The 5 UAV's are armed with 4 Missiles each + LMG's.

Spark has a number of recon drones + combat drones and should be able to infiltrate their CCSS network and get ahold of theirs.

I've still got the stuff for the T-Bird but that would cost us 9Mil which we don't have. Chopper would cost around 6-7. And trying to get fly rights into a area like that is damn hard specialy with all that armourment.

Well we have about 100 missiles of sorts so let me know what you need.
Aku
Hmmm, i think drones, if we've got any to spare, might be a good delivery system, now that i think about it, if we have any that are capable of delivering say, 25 kilos or so.

Offsite explosions are definately a good idea. Can we find out if this particular corp has holdings anywhere else within seattle?
FrostyNSO
Eh....it's just a hit appearantly...I hadn't caught that. I thought they were making an unwilling extraction...time for new plans smile.gif
FrostyNSO
Aku, how much explosives do you think it will take to take down one of those buildings...we could always try to purchase a few nightglider ultralites and remote them. Instead of an 80 kg pilot, they'd have an 80kg payload in the cockpit.
Aku
thats something i think that would take a roll for me to know for my character to know, as i'm not really a demo expert smile.gif
Fenris
Aku - Feel free to roll your demolitions.

And just so you know, it's not a corp wink.gif

Any thing else that might work would be a demolitions background, civil engineering.
Fenris
Aku - You know you would need multiple charges. Unless you were specifically going into the building and setting shaped charges, you'll need four, and you have a good idea of exactly what four points on the building you'd need to apply the explosives to to cause the desired effect. Unfortunately, to take out a building that size without being able to shape and place the explosives, it will require approximately 25k of explosives for each of the four tagets.
Aku
just to make sure i can get my jaw off the ground fenris, did you mean 25 Kilo's of explosives, or 25 thousand nuyen worth? because at 80 nuyen a kilo, that'd be ~300 kilos PER spot....

granted, i'm NOT a real demo person, but that seems...high, even if it's not a shaped charge...
Fenris
25 kilo's wink.gif
Aku
psh, thats cake smile.gif

hell, technically, the 25 thousand nuyen worth is ALMOST cake.. i already have 80K worth lol, but i thought i should be able to being down more than 1 building with all of that.

So, do we have enough, or can we accquire enough drones, with ~30-35 kilos of carrying capacity, the ability to stop quickly, and are cheap enough for us to consider them disposable... although, that may not nessecarily be true, IF theres some way the drones could be rigged to open a hatch that drops the package...

That might even let us do it with one drone, but that might be a bit easier to spot, as we're then looking for something at closer to 150K carrying capacity.
BishopMcQ
Buddha and I have worked out a diversion to keep Lonestar otherwise occupied--you just need to drop an IC hint to us.
Aku
I'm just waiting for the official ic arrival and greetings, i dont think anyone's answered my door knocking yet.
Cedric Rolfsson
I'm stuck, I'm not sure we're going to post or Fenris or what, we need direction from our fearless GM I think.
BishopMcQ
Aku--I think that's Sparky...

Cedric--If we are feeling bold, we can just push on to the apartment...as long as we don't screw with time or overwrite reality...we should be ok.

**Ducks his head to make sure his impudence is not swiftly and severely punished**
Tashio
Sparky is currently on holiday with limited access last I heard, might want to just post and carry on.
Fenris
Hmm. I'd say assume for the moment that the safehouse is a rental building, 1 floor, large open space, probably limited amenities, basic luxuries. She's a rigger, after all.

Let's just work within those criteria and post on. If Sparky needs to correct something later we can handle that then. After all, it's not like I'm planning on ambushing you guys here or anything, you're just getting together to discuss the details of your nerfarious plot wink.gif
HeySparky
Alan likes his luxuries - though his idea of luxury may differ from most. Rest assured there's really good security and food. Decent comforts. Good storage area for gear and vehicles, gun safes and the like.

Facility used to be a taxidermists (specializing in para-critters), so there's lots of creepy stuff around still, I'm sure.

Also note that Alan is a news junkie, so there's probably a well equipped media room - to supplement the portable media center in his head. smile.gif

He'd know the team's quirks/requirements (anyone he knew was coming anyway) and would have made arrangements for them as well.
Fenris
Welcome back from your holiday Sparky!

Thank you for filling us in wink.gif
Toptomcat
You folks probably ought to stop using the Recruitment thread and start using an OOC one. I thought another game was starting.
Fenris
Actually, I told them to keep using it if they wanted for private communications just among the team. I don't think it's really a problem, as it's obvious when you read just the last page what's going on.

Thanks though! wink.gif
Aku
sorry toptom... i think the reason we keep using this one is because we're seperate from the main group (which is actually hiring us mercs, so we're still having some discussions seperate from the main group ooc...
Fenris
Anything you guys (the mercs) need that I can get for you?
