This kind of establishment, with it's connections, you could probably do pistols jsut fine. Anything bigger though, and you might be having an unpleasant, one sided conversation with someone named Vito "The Guy That Hits Hard " Spinelli or some such

Kozlowski family - Organization
The Kozlowski family is the head of the three crime families in New Orleans, heading out the Romeros and the Mussinos. At the head of it all is Capa Miriam Kozlowski. Miriam's been Capa sincec her mother passed some years ago. A woman in charge of a family ,much less a city, was unheard of before Miriam's mother Paula. Her huusband Stan Kozlowski did everything with Paula, and helped arrange things so that when he passed on , she was already in place as his successor. Things might have gone a bit different in the succession from Paula to her daughter Miriam, except that Miriam was absolutely ruthless in taking control of her family, then the city.

Miriam is known as La Belle Dame Sans Merci - The Beautiful Woman without Mercy, Or simply le Dame Morte- the Lady of Death. When the first signs of resistance cropped up, Miriam engaged in a short and brutal campaign of murders and assassinations that left her in control of the city.

The only group to challenge her since her asceension was a group of krewes (smaller organized crine syndicates, based off of the Mardi Gras 'krewes') that organized them selves back in '65. In a bloody campaign that lasted twp years, led by Miriam's sottocapo Harry "the Hammer" Rybinski, the Kozlowski family slaughtered all opposition. This became later known as the Krewe Wars, and gained the Kozlwski famliy and even tighter hold on the Crescecnt City.

Shortly after the Krewe Wars, Miriam fell in with a young woman named Mama Bourdon, a voodoun mambo from the city. The mambo appears to be a young mulatto woman, no older than 20, with long black hair and purple eyes. It is known that Bourbon used to be a run as long ago as the '60's, in Denver of all placecs, and that she is also wanted in Seattle for numerous crimes, including killing multiple Lone Star officers.

Some how , Miriam decided to make Mama Bourbon her new Consigliere, and moved Erik Weisler, her current advisor, laterally to a sottocapo position. Weisler, a long time friend of Miriam's father Stan, still remains loyal. Miriam then suprised everyone again by bringing in the infamous magical assassination group the Voodoo Posse in to the family as it's magical arm.

Now the Romero family is vying to get back some of it's operation it lost back in the Krewe Wars, ,and more than a little miffed about Miriam's break in tradition, as she begins following the Voodoo religion. The Massinos seems to have taken a "wait and watch" approach, and some new krewes are popping up to fill the void where the decimated krewes once stood. Miriam is taking noe of this sitting down, and tightening her grip. She made her first move by stealing a shipmen of Ares arms being smuggled in to the Black Throat Krewe, and using those arms to slaughter over a dozen of them.

WIth the return of Jack "Oz" "Ozlowski, Miriam's unncle to the fold, family politics have shifted yet again. Oz is a traditionalist. ALthough he loves his niece dearly, he also believes she's moved away too much from "traditional family values". He has begun teaching Miriam's chosen heir (and rumored illegitimate daughter) Pamela Rodenbush the way of the family business. This could be chancy as well though, as Pamela is a changeling, looking something like a fabled succubus, and has had some time to learn Miriam's way of dealing with adversarys.

Mafia Organization

Capa - Head of a city - The lead Don

Don(Dona) - The head of a family. Boss

Consigliere (Advisor) - outside the chain of command, the Don's advisor

Sottocapo (Underboss) - next step from the Don, the sottocapo do a lot of the running of the organization and over see the Captains, making sure the Don's wishes are carried out.

Caporegime (Captain) -street level administration. The captains work the family's endevors, such as controlling their smuggling, prostitution ,etc. Work directly with the made men, much more hands on than the sottocapo.

Saldato (Soldier) - The Made men of the family are the street level guys that do the familiy's business, work with the street low lifes, handle family business such as extortion, etc. These are the guys that have sworn the oaths and do most of the work.

Associate - Not a made man or sworn to the family yet. Can often be people like accountants or lawyers, people who work with the family often such as mob shadowrunners.

The family works off of the Honor code that spereates it from the common criminal.
The Costra Nostra is literally "this thing of ours". It is never spoken of directly ,never spoken of to outsiders, never even admitted to exist. Hence "wise guuys" talking of "taking care of the thing with the guy". If you're caught, you do your time. The family will take care of your affairs while you're in. If you talk, you die.

Once you're in the family, you're in for life. There is no out.

Update for posting format and game progressing

OK, we all know Deva is now on with us, we'll also be adding in Callidus in to our groups. We're still wating for Wratish 325 to decide for sure whtehr he's going ot be sticking around. I've seen you pop in a few times buddy, but no posts. What's up? In or out man? I know you've got some RL concerns, so if you're on hold at the moment, please let us know. There's always room for you later, but we need to know for IC reasons and to move the game along.

Also, very important. As we now have more players in, and ou guys are not always going to be together in posts, please add the following format concern

Start all posts with which characters are present, beginning with you own, then a date and time stamp. Please put all stamps in military (24hr) time t oavoid any confusion.
Example:
Plan B is posting. Lucky, Sinn, and Rayo are present. Streak is not. It's Tuesday, Aug 14th, in the morning, 930 am.

Lucky/Sinn/Rayo Tues, Aug 14th, 0930

Questions?

been waiting for something to come back to me lol I been sitting at the bar Reading that list so ya
fistandantilus4.0
Well you were requested to be there at 10:30. You've been there. They've been there. They've had their little meeting. I think if you're going to be in on this, this is the time.

If you still have issues going on, I understand that, and it's no problem. If you're not going to be able to post regularly, go ahead and wait until things mellow a bit. But if you're going to be in, I need you to be in.All you really need to do is be able to check/post once or twice a day.
Wraith235
the time stamp thing is going to help a lot ....tho Streak has been at the bar and hasnt been Called in and since Lucky owns the bar thats what hes waiting for .... I check the forums every day 2-3 times but hes not going to just "Walk into the office" unless hes invited to come in especially since Lucky Owns the joint

WANT KARMA!?
Ok, now that I've got your attention, here's what's up.

I've been working on fleshing out the shadow community in New Orleans for a while now. The great thing is that it's pretty unique, especially in comparison to Seattle, that it's goign to have a small, but present Shadow Community. For example, there aren't a lot of corporations in the AAA bracket, since they're all based in Atlanta, the CAS capitol. There's still biz, especially in smuggling, but there's also the mob presence.

So what I want to do is to create a personality for every singel shadow runner in New Orleans. Seattle , as estimated by Synner, can support around 150-200 Shadowrunners. As in real runners, not wannabes. So I figure that a place like New Orleans can support around 30 or so runners that are more or less independant, plus maybe two full time teams. Give or take.

Then there's also the rest of the shadow folk, like fixers, street docks, weapons dealers, etc. So what I'm going to do is put up a couple of lists of contacts and runners I want created. Then people can pick which list they want to do. Then you'll get karma for the ones that you create, amount depending on quality and amount of write up on the contact/runner/whatever.

Once we have the lists, I'll start pulling characters from the lists for reference in the game. You can hire some of the runners, or maybe even run against them. You can go to one of the street docs, or hire one of the hackers for data searches, etc.

Once you've got yours done, post them here in the OOC thread.

This is available for any of my players : Alex, Plan B, SinN, Callidus, Deva, Wraith325, Grinder. If you're not in an SR game, you can get some LP for it. Be creative, be interesting, be useful... uhhh... be house trained!

For BP, you don't have to actually stat the NPCs. Just use them as guidelines for how good they should be.

well the more you write the more you get LPs for. As you're not in this particular game, that's ok. You and Alex are the exceptions. Besides, I know you've got school and freelance crap to write for RB anyways. wouldn't want you to get too much into an SR mind frame when you should be writing ED.
Lady Door
hehehe.. I can see it now. For some reason, the latest Horror constructs all look like Richard Villiers. *ooooh, scary!*

And a lot of other work to do too....
Btw, we're just working on a new adventure, "Burning Desires". Would you be interested in playtest it? I don't know if it's possible, but I wanted to check that with the project leader anyway.

fistandantilus4.0
Yeah, be happy to. Something you want me to do on here? Or table top, or which?

Lemme know if you need anything else drawn. I've really got the itch right now, and not a lot of material to work on besdies some of the NPC sketches I've been doing along the way for IWTF. Also, I will do everyone's character sketches after I get a better feel for their cahracters. I REALLY liek a lot of descriptiveness to work off of.

I draw a lot better when I'm excited about the character. So the more you give me on them, especially in game, the sooner you'll get it.

Felix Mendelson - Prime Runner known as Wraith

Felix is somewhat of an oddity, though in today's world, that is saying something. He is an albino with hair is so blonde it is nearly white and skin the color of milk. Other than that, he is resonably attractive, though a little on the short side. He seems to exude an air of confidence. He always wears long clothing and prefers high end things. His friends never see him during the day.

I would have love to have you as playtesters, but I just got a reply from Dammi (the line developer and questor of dis) stating that there have already been five groups playing the adventure and all coming with the same comments and conclusion, so there's no need for another one.
Sorry for that, next time I'll ask earlier. smile.gif

Next up (after "Burning Desires") is Cathay, iirc.
fistandantilus4.0
Damn. I dont know jack about Cathay. Any suggestions on drawings then?

Oh, and BttF2 has had some developments
Grinder
As far as I know the major part of the book has been sent by some guy over the last years. He finished it and then sends it to RedBrick. We're going to proofread it and start working on the ideas he had and fields he left open.

I can ask Dammi (the line developer) what drawings are needed.

fistandantilus4.0
It's jsut awesome to me that one guy can do sucha big project without any assurances that it's going to go anywhere. That's why I havea lot of respect for Peter Taylor (Synner). He got a bunch of people all over the world together to put together a book he hadn't even pitched yet. Just awesome.

I sent Dammi some pics liek two years ago that didn't make msuter, but I was jsut drawing a bunch of random stuff. Not even stuff i knew if they coudl use or not. So yeah, some guidance on what to work on would be great, thanks.
Grinder
Getting people together to work on a project together is cool, yes. But writing a sourcebook all alone over a few years is more like... freaky, I think. biggrin.gif

I just dropped Dammi an email. We'll see what he says. smile.gif
Lady Door
I wish I had that kind of communication with someone making those kind of books. You want to know why? Drop Bears. Yep. Yep.
Grinder
Dammi is not only from germany, he even grew up 40 miles from where i live now, that helps a lot (it is said that people from north germany have their own... traits... biggrin.gif ).

Drop Bears, yeah that would be awesome. Do they live in China/ Cathay? I think so. biggrin.gif
fistandantilus4.0
Hey, they had to spread prety far from the first Great Dropping, nw didn't they?

That reminds me, I still ahvet odraw the Council for Nezumi
Grinder
I'm sure that the Great Drop has been spread to every country in the world. What about Drop Pandas? I'll post that in the right holy thread.

nezumi is so great, writing that whole stuff was awesome! smile.gif
fistandantilus4.0
that's true, there are canon Drop Pandas

I need to do the pics ,and write up Fortuna's house for him. Not really sure if he's still working on it. I need to get some stuff written up to inspire him again.

Heyhey everyone, sorry about the delay, blinding headache yesterday *8-< anyhoo hopefully I haven't screwed up Lucky's already confusing (from my poor readerness) schedule *8->

No I don't think so. At least I hope not. Plan B has alread gone off twice about how nuts Lucky' s schedule is.
