Lady Door
Oh... MY... FUCKING... GOD!Lucky vents for a moment, seriously wondering if there isn't someone she can whack to get this moving along any faster. Seeing as how she would have to track the person down and waste the ammunition, she settles for paying the 2K and swearing a lot.
If it wasn't for Angelo's soothing hands it's quite possible Lucky would have to go out there and fire someone just on principle.
fistandantilus4.0
Somehow Angelo manages to rise to the occassion and massage harder, even though he's been gogn for two hours. He's sweating. One can only imagine why.
Lady Door
After ten minutes of fuming, Lucky begins to relax. Realizing that Angelo seems to be going through some kind of silent and standing cardiac arrest, she stops him.
Oh, Angelo sweetheart, I'm sorry. Thank you for staying. Why don't you go and grab something to eat or something? Relax those hands.
Lucky smiles and shoos him out the door, turning back to glare at the commlink on her desk.
Picking it up, she waits for some kind of message on just how expedited her service is.
fistandantilus4.0
Thank you. Your Apllication will be processed within 1-2 business days.

Thank you for choosing the New Orleans Police Service.
---- The one Choice. The Only Choice----~
Lady Door
Sighing again, Lucky sits back in her chair and lights a cigarette. Expensive day. Wish tonight was a paying gig... at least I got lunch out of it. Time to give Pounder a call.
Lucky dials Pounder's number and leaves a brief message;
Pounder. It's Luck. I've got biz. Needs done pronto. Call me.
fistandantilus4.0
Pounder calls back within a few minutes.

Hoi there. You know, you could call me occassionally when it isn't an emergency.

Lady Door
Sorry, sweetheart. I know I owe you dinner or something. You have got to see the dogs I just bought... but, right now I need some of the good stuff. Can we meet?
fistandantilus4.0
"Sweet heart"? Lucky, you only talk nice when you want something. Is this a big order?
Lady Door
Lucky winks and sticks her tongue out. Ahh, you know me so well. Not a big order... just a fun one. I'll make it worth your while though. I just got this new guy in, Angelo, ... the man has a gift.
fistandantilus4.0
I like men I don't have to pay for.

Alright, same place then? An hour?
Lady Door
Sounds good. I'll see you then.
Lucky smiles and waits for Pounder to hang up first before snapping shut her own commlink. Pulling out her ledger, she spends the next half an hour reviewing her own budget before heading out to their meeting spot in the bayou.
fistandantilus4.0
Night time meets in the bayou. Not real good for dispelling "rumors" of haunted swamps. After seeing a few possible Will o' the Wisps in the distance, Lucky considers finding another meet spot next time.

Pounder is there when she arrives. Her hover truck is running, lights still on. There's also a HMG on a pop up turret on top scanning the area. Pounder hops out when Lucky arrives.
Lady Door
Where ya at, chica?Lucky hugs Pounder quickly and then backs up, scanning the area... laughing when she sees Pounder do the same thing.
Next time, we pick a nice well lit parking garage. This place gives me the creeps.
fistandantilus4.0
Yeah, I think you're right. Last time I was out here, I swear I saw some people dragging a body. What the frag would you want a body way out here for? There's plenty closer places to dump one.

Sorry about the attitude earlier. Got some flak from some Romero guy said I was selling on his turf earlier. You know anyone calls him self "Johnny Knocks"? Big ugly ork that thinks he's a big good lookin' ork?

Anyway, wadda need chummer?
Lady Door
Lucky shrugs.I don't know. There is that dragon rumor... As for this Johnny guy.. Sorry, chica, haven't heard of em', if I do though... I'll go out of my way to make things difficult for him... I'm looking for gas grenades, chemical weaponry. Combination near fatal and fatal. No explosions, just smoke and gas. Got anything like that?
fistandantilus4.0
I've got a ton of Neuro stun, and a bit of Seven - 7. Which'll ya take? The Seven's a hot item though, so it's pricey.
Lady Door
Give me a rundown on what the Seven-7 does again?
Having mentioned the dragon, Lucky can't help but wish that she had expedited her canine order a little bit more.
fistandantilus4.0
It's milspec stuff ,designed by MTC. It cuts through chem suits. Nasty nasty stuff, but damn effective.Neurostun is just that. Takes 'em down, but not lethal, unless you're exposed to a large amount of it in an unventialted area.
Lady Door
Get me a couple poppers of Neurostun and an Ares Crusader type if you have one. Oh, that reminds me... you got any stick and shock for a Predator handy?
fistandantilus4.0
I've got lots of Ares gear lately. That's no problem. Looking for say... four gas grenades... lemme see
Lady Door
Four would do me. What's it gonna run me?
fistandantilus4.0
Four Neurostun at 200 a piece, gives you 800 for your price tag.
Lady Door
What about the stick n' shock & the Crusader?
fistandantilus4.0
Crusader 'll run ya' $400, and another 100 for a couple of mags of the fun stuff.
Lady Door
Done. Hate to deal and run but I gotta jet. Business calls. What have you got on hand now?
fistandantilus4.0
Yeah I got all that on hand. Give me a sec to dig it out. You'd have had to wait if you wanted the Seven-7 though.

Pounder climbs in to her hover truck and begins goign through crates and boxes. Everything is all in proper order inside the truck. A place for everything. Pounder places Lucky's things in side a balck duffle bag and hands it over.

Happy hunting. wink.gif
Lady Door
Lucky smiles and nods to Pounder heading for her own truck. Lucky slips the box holding the weapons and ammunition into a smuggling compartment rigged behind the drivers seat.
Heading out, she checks the time. Better head for the 'Kitten. It's getting to be that time.Lucky sets the auto-pilot feature and changes in her cab as the truck speeds down the highway. By the time she pulls into the parking lot, she's wearing a pair of black slacks, black fitted t-shirt, her black lined coat, black boots and black gloves. Her hair is up in a ponytail.
Spotting Barney's truck pulling into the lot, she waves and waits for him at the entrance.
fistandantilus4.0
Barnie and Anna wait in their big white truck. Mancuso soon appears, wearing a jacket, no doubt armored, also with a pair of gloves on. He climbs in to Lucky's truck, and quickly forwards the address from his commlink to the autopilot.

Are you all set?
Lady Door
Lucky pats the smugglers compartment and nods.
All set... so, why don't you fill me in on what exactly we're looking for here. We taking anything or just doing a smash up?
fistandantilus4.0
There's supposed to be some fiber optic cable bundles. Hence the trucks. Other than that, the basic breaking noses and legs should do. A little arson if they put up too much of a fight. Feel free to use a taser if you feel inclined. I brought along some shock gloves.
Lady Door
Got myself some stick and shock... and a few little chemical bangs. Should be fun.Lucky winks.
fistandantilus4.0
It's just a short drive onver to the consturction site. It's a strip mall set up, with about 200 meters up buildings in various stages of "built". There are also a number of mobile trailers for the "offices", one of which has the lights on. Driving by, four men can be seen sitting out side at a table playing cards in front of the office trailer.

Mancuso takes the time to point out the cable bundles when he spots them. He also points out a few of the men he recognizes.

The ork there is Sal Valentino. He's augmented, and probably about to 'roid rage on one of the others. Watch for him, he'll be trouble. The human with the shoulder length hair tied back, that's Alonzo. He'll draw given the chance. I'd rather not have there being any bodies. Especially any of ours.

Barnie and Anna respond that they recieved his message on their AR as Lucky nods.

Go ahead and pull in here Lucky. I want them to see us coming. Might as well put the headlights on them.
Lady Door
You got it.
Gunning it, Lucky swerves towards the men sitting at the table, hitting her brights as she does so.

fistandantilus4.0
The big truck screeches to a stop just short of the men at the table, 2 of them already diving a way, thinking that the truck had perhaps just a bit less stopping power. All four are shielding their eyes from the bright lights.

Mancuso ops out just ast he truck comes to a stop. He walks straight up to the first man still standing at the table. There's some shouting and the man in the brights makes some attempts at intimidating Mancuso, who simply cold cocks him, knocking the man to the ground with a right hook, and immediately going for the man still stnading next to him.

Barnie and Anna jump out of their truck.

Roll Initiative 11
Lady Door
Taking her time to review the situation, Lucky opens her car door and leans out, pulling her Ares out and checking the clip, doublechecking that she still has the stick and shock Bennett gave her chambered.
Initiative = 15

Scanning the area, Lucky looks for the other three men that went running.

fistandantilus4.0
One of them is engaging Mancuso in a fist fight. The second, which appears to be the ork, is moving to Mancuso's right flank, wit hBarnie moving to intercept him. The last, to Lucky's left and clear of the head lights, is the brown haried man who is indeed drawing a pistol.
Lady Door
Well, hello there sweetness.Lucky smiles, aims and fires at the unlucky man drawing his pistol.

The quick and accurate shot takes the man right in the throat. He can't scream because of it, but it takes him down at least. Kicking and ... well, he's kicking.
Lady Door
Damn... ooookay..Lucky's eyes track back to the man attempting to take Mancuso's side. Noting how close Barney is to the man it doesn't look like she would be able to get a shot in in time.
Time for some fun.Lucky grins and slides out of the truck, taking the Ares Crusader and the grenades with her. Sliding the regular ammo into the Crusader, Lucky hightails it for the in-progress strip mall. Picking up several good sized bricks, Lucky lobs them at the windows in the newly finished sections. Hearing the glass shatter, Lucky pops a pin and sends one of the chemical grenades after the brick.

*crash*
*bang*
*poof*

The sounds of brwaling are heard behind Lucky. The sound like an aluminum baseball bat hitting something are heard as well. Looking back, Anna is wailing away at the man Mancuso first downed. it ain't no Lousiville slugger, but it's sure getting the job done. Barnie and Mancuso are each still slugging it out with a Romero thug.
Lady Door
Well, they seem just fine.
*crash*
*bang*
*poof*
Repeat. Until all the windows are broken or the grenades are gone, whichever comes first. Then hightail it back to the truck and take a moment to survey the scene again.
fistandantilus4.0
By the time Lucky arrives back at the melee, Barnie has his foot on the head of the man Mancuso was fighting, and Anna is finishing off the other knee cap of the man Barnie was fighting, the big ork.

mancuso directs barnie to start loading cable spools. Barnie gives the man a kick for good measure then moves off to do as he's told.
Mancuso crouches down next to the injured man, who's ear is bleeding heavily now.

I'll say this once, as you've really only got one good ear left for hearing anyway. The Prince knows damn good and well which operations are ours, and which he can play with. If he, or any of his soldiers, make another move against any of Miriam's holdings, there will be a blood bath. Are we clear?

He's holding the man's head up by his hair as he speaks. When he finishes, he shoves his head back off the ground, bouncing it off the pavement. Taking a good look at Mancuso's gloves ,they're thicker than they should be. They look like the type car thiefs wear, with iron shavings in the back and knuckles beneath another layer of leather. They're usually used to break windows. Apparently Mancuso uses them for heads,

Lucky, Anna, we're done here. Get the rest of the spools loaded, then we're out of here.

Mancuso walks up to the office trailer, taking the Rmoeri mens bottle of J.D. with him. He takes a small bottle of lighter fluid from his ocket, and srpays it all around in side, then uses the whiskey to finish it , then lights it with his lighter. He takes his time walking back, stepping over Romero men. Everything is loaded by the time he climbs back in Lucky's truck. He sends over a new address for a warehouse.
Lady Door
Lucky nods and tosses the Crusader into the compartment, sliding it shut with her foot. Backing up, she "accidentally" takes out the shopping centers new development sign and six feet of fencing before reversing and heading towards the warehouse.
Damn, I love this truck.
Taking a look at Julian, Lucky smiles.
Damn, Julian... you definitely got game.
fistandantilus4.0
You're going to need a paint job. I'll put you in touch with someone.

I fel bad for wasting good whiskey though.

He's quite for the rest of the drive over to the warehouse. Not withdrawn, just seems to be enjoying the night over again.

After everything is unloaded, Barnie and Anna head home, with pats for mancuso and Lucky. Mancuso heads towards his car.

Lucky, be up on time tomorrow. You're meeting me at the gym. You and I are working out with Erik Weisler and Oz tomorrow. So don't be late.

He smiles and throws her a wink as he gets in to his car,
Lady Door
Lucky frowns for a moment in confusion but then just nods and gets into her truck.
The gym? Wait.. what did he mean a new paint job? Oh, frag it all to hell, Lucky!
Lucky sits in irritated silence for the rest of the ride home.

Lucky spends the day with Mancuso, Weisler, and Oz, managing to score an invitation to a poker game at Weisler's home. The invite is exclusive, and the buy in is $25,000. By the next night, she's got some more cash in hand, some more contacts made, and her life is perhaps just a bit more interesting, nad a bit more dangerous.

The most valuable thing she birngs home however, is Cynthia Vicenete's private support for her ying for a Captain's position, and her suggestiong that perhaps Blake Lawson is the captain that she should replace.
Lady Door
Appreciating Cynthia's support, Lucky is nevertheless cautious about the idea of taking any current capo's spot. Suspicious of Cynthia's true motives, Lucky simply smiles and nods and comments that "sometimes new blood is needed to clean the body of disease."
Returning home after her eye-opening lunch with Cynthia, Lucky begins making a few phone calls. Calling in favors from a few made men she knows, men that were unlucky one to many times at her tables. She begins gathering information on the current capo's, keeping the questions subtle and always asking another man about a different capo/capa. The promise of future forgiven debts or an inside track on a hot bet seems to keep the mens' tongues loose.

Lucky's House
An older home, the facade is done in faded red brick and pine. The inside consists of three stories; a cellar, the main floor and a second story. Both the main and second story are very open, with high ceilings and large windows. The floor is all pine paneled hardwood, worn to a very mellow golden shine. The main floor consists of a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and a guest bedroom/office. The second floor holds the master bedroom and bath, a second guest bedroom and an additional bath.
While the house itself is beautiful, the grounds are even more so. Whoever owned the house previously obviously put a lot of love into the gardens. Gardenias and Magnolia trees abound along with some creeping wisteria and jasmine on the wrought iron gate. The house itself sits back some 20 feet from the sidewalk, offering some privacy behind the hedges. The backyard consists of a small brick patio covered by a wooden arbor and a large flagstone pool. Since moving in, Lucky has modernized the pool pump and lighting in and around the pool, preferring to swim at night.

Quirks
In a house this old, one has to be prepared to deal with a houses' "personality"... something this house has in spades. Lucky believes that the house is haunted, by what, she doesn't know although she has come to believe that whatever it is lives on the second floor... at least that's where she hears the footsteps.
[ Spoiler ]

Lucky's Neighbors
Lucky's neighbor to her left is a widowed woman in her late 70's. She's a little kooky, believing that her late husband lives in Lucky's pool and therefore constantly visits. Oftentimes, Lucky will find her sitting in the backyard, having tea and talking to the pool. After escorting her back home and relocking the gate, Lucky has often found a plate of cookies from the woman on her front porch. It's strange, but something Lucky has come to live with.
[ Spoiler ]

Lucky's neighbor to her right is another story entirely. Unbeknownst to Lucky, the man is a psychopath, content to watch Lucky's (and the woman on the other side from him) every move from behind his blinds. When the man's not at work (he works as a Sanitation Engineer for the city... which is useful when it comes to collecting souvenirs from the women he stalks) he spends most of his time in a pair of boxers holding onto a pair of very expensive binoculars. His walls are plastered with pictures of various women, among them pictures of Lucky. He's unaware of her "family" affiliation and wouldn't care even if he was. No one is really sure of what his next move is, least of all him.

Lucky is sitting in her office at the Lucky Strike Friday night, when Roberto buzzes her from the outer office. It's almost 2200.

Miss lucky , there's a Julian Mancuso here to see you. He says it's important.

From the bar cam, Julain is indeed in the Strike, looking rather relaxed for someone calling on "something impostant."
