Which reminds me...
I'm still just getting a feel for this posting IC, so please let me know if there particular start and stop points I need to be aware of before posting. Also if you want me to OOC post my intended actions so you can plan ahead a bit.
On the other hand keeping everything mysterious and spontaneous can be good too.

Typically, the best places to stop posts are when NPC reactions are required as well as when perceiving areas that might contain threats or objects which will affect the character. Lastly, unless prearranged, posts should stop at the point where a character makes a test to allow the GM to determine the outcome of the test based on the success threshold.

Litany Doing something technical that doesn't involve a gun? Pish posh! That's what the guardian angel/agent is for!
[ Spoiler ]
Mix and Match results and adjust as you wish.
Int 2 + Perception 4 + Visual 3 = 9
6 5 6 4 1 1 6 2 4 = 3(4) Hits
Int 2 + Perception 4 + Audio 3 = 9
4 3 6 5 6 3 6 1 5 = 3(5) Hits
Gabriel, my poor agent... Why do agents get Computer, Cybercombat, Data Search, and Hacking skills = Pilot but not EW? I can understand the Hardware and Software skills being left out. I suppose I should load Gabriel with a EW autosoft someday.
Scan 4 + EW Skill (0) + default (-2) = 2 (is this a default as well? something to think about, by default all commlinks come with scan 1 built in, but if you don't have EW, and default at -2, can anyone ever scan anything?)
5 1 1 5 = 1 Hit and a Glitch, or 2 Hits and A Glitch, I just hope it isn't a Pirate VR Lesbian Troll Porn node.
EDIT: Defualt is minus 1, which may mena a critical glitch, if in fact default applies in this case. It's not defaulting to an attribute really.

Amusing timing. So what is behind the doors?
grendel
Aug 24 2006, 09:28 PM
The apartment doors are sealed using synthetic gaiters around the edges as both a safety and privacy measure. Not even micro drones would be able to infiltrate a door closed with the material, less a minidrone which is substantially larger. There isn't an answer to the buzzer.

Aug 24 2006, 09:30 PM
Any light switches in the apartment that can be seen from the hallway? Also, any sounds coming from it?
grendel
Aug 24 2006, 09:33 PM
There are a pair of light switches on the right side, just before the closet. No, the apartment appears to be silent and deserted.

Darn, guess I'll discover what's behind the doors later then. Ah well. The iBall drone was in case the door opens, possibly sneak a peek into the rest of the apartment without sticking my own head in. Anything from exterior windows visible to the flyspy? For example lights going on? And I might leave the iBall in the hallway under the planter tables as a surveillance device.
grendel
Aug 24 2006, 09:39 PM
The apartment windows are mirror tinted to prevent visual surveillance. This is almost universally common in Shadowrun in an effort to prevent the casual mage from casting on people visible through windows.

Yet another piece of standard gear I don't think of making/buyng till you actually need it.
RFID or Micro sensor with microphone or camera. So you can plant a bug...
Assuming that buzzing again won't get a response, are the end of the hallway camera SR4 wireless hackable? I'm thinking my agent Gabriel won't be able to hack the cameras, but of course I could with the right toolkits and skills, none of which Litany has.
iBall will make an expensive bug.

QUOTE (WinterRat1) |
Before any other actions you take, roll Agility + Climbing to see if you lose your balance and fall as a result of the shelf being rocked by the Powerball.
If you wish to continue to climb the shelf, you have two choices:
a) Climb as much as you can this IP and then jump in an attempt to grab the floor of the catwalk.
You will obviously face a penalty for what is essentially two skill uses this phase (Climbing and Gymnastics), not to mention a penalty for probably having to jump a fairly high distance to grab on to the floor of the catwalk. Additionally, if you miss, you will be consider to be jumping off a several meter high object, with all the problems that potentially entails.
However, on the plus side, since you go first, you'll be able to get up there before anyone can do anything if you succeed.
OR
b) Climb as much as you can this IP, and then jump in an attempt to grab the floor of the catwalk during your Phase in IP 3, right before the shelf collapses.
The downside to this is that if anyone so much as breathes on this shelf (i.e. damages it for 1 more box of damage) it will collapse before you can jump...unless I'm feeling generous and give you an opportunity to jump and you make an absolutely MONSTER roll to jump off in time and grab the catwalk. I would not feel good about betting on this possibility, just so you know.
The upside to this is that you are much more likely to succeed in climbing to the catwalk, as you'll have an entire action (with no/very little penalty) to climb the shelf this IP and then another entire action to make a Gymnastics roll (with no/very little penalty) to jump to the catwalk. |
Warehouse people-
Sorry for the delay. I'm not receiving email notices and have been too busy at work (when I usually post...productivity at its finest) to check the threads.
WR1- My actions are below.
My players- Again, sorry for the LONG delay. I haven't forgotten about anyone.
[ Spoiler ]
Agility + Climbing: 5 dice
06 05 04 04 02 = 2 hits
If that keeps me on the shelving, my plan is to climb to the top, however long it takes, then leap to the catwalk. I will burn one of John's Edge for a success on the leap itself. Even so, John will probably have to reach for the bottom of the walk and pull himself up and over.
Climbing for this pass: 6 dice (avg str + climbing +1 for easily climbable)
06 05 05 05 04 01 = 4 hits

Also:
[ Spoiler ]
If the opponant is "worthy" enough (meaning, if he/she doesn't fold when Tony puts the gun barrell against the back of their neck and puts up a good fight), I'm going to use this as a Combat Ordeal to initiate Tony.
Base cost= 10 + (Grade (1) * 3) = 13
Ordeal reduction= 13 * .2 = 2.6
Karma used to initiate= 13-2 = 11
That is, only if the battle is worthy, o wielder of railguns
