Good point. Just grasping at straws, I guess wink.gif
grendel
It's not paranoia when they really are out to get you.
grendel
DireRadiant: roll me some perception for Litany. Also, if she's scanning for networks I need a Scan plus EW roll.

Which reminds me...

I'm still just getting a feel for this posting IC, so please let me know if there particular start and stop points I need to be aware of before posting. Also if you want me to OOC post my intended actions so you can plan ahead a bit.

On the other hand keeping everything mysterious and spontaneous can be good too.
grendel
Typically, the best places to stop posts are when NPC reactions are required as well as when perceiving areas that might contain threats or objects which will affect the character. Lastly, unless prearranged, posts should stop at the point where a character makes a test to allow the GM to determine the outcome of the test based on the success threshold.

Yeah, but which they are we talking about? wink.gif
WinterRat1
OK I've got rolls and actions for everyone involved in IP 2 except for Scrapheap. Scrap, just letting you know we're waiting on you.

Bandit and Ronin - Respond in the ASVW thread for BC's benefit so we can keep moving please.

You're saying that as if there is only one group out to get you. Haven't you figured out yet that they're ALL out to get you? grinbig.gif

Litany Doing something technical that doesn't involve a gun? Pish posh! That's what the guardian angel/agent is for!

[ Spoiler ]
grendel
Actually, you can forget about the EW roll since that functionality hasn't been implemented yet. smile.gif
DireRadiant
Amusing timing. So what is behind the doors?
grendel
The apartment doors are sealed using synthetic gaiters around the edges as both a safety and privacy measure. Not even micro drones would be able to infiltrate a door closed with the material, less a minidrone which is substantially larger. There isn't an answer to the buzzer.
bclements
Any light switches in the apartment that can be seen from the hallway? Also, any sounds coming from it?
grendel
There are a pair of light switches on the right side, just before the closet. No, the apartment appears to be silent and deserted.

Darn, guess I'll discover what's behind the doors later then. Ah well. The iBall drone was in case the door opens, possibly sneak a peek into the rest of the apartment without sticking my own head in. Anything from exterior windows visible to the flyspy? For example lights going on? And I might leave the iBall in the hallway under the planter tables as a surveillance device.
grendel
The apartment windows are mirror tinted to prevent visual surveillance. This is almost universally common in Shadowrun in an effort to prevent the casual mage from casting on people visible through windows.
DireRadiant
Damned awakened for raising privacy awareness! Now how do I get my voyueristic kicks?
grendel
Why do you think simsense was developed?
DireRadiant
Yet another piece of standard gear I don't think of making/buyng till you actually need it.

RFID or Micro sensor with microphone or camera. So you can plant a bug...

Assuming that buzzing again won't get a response, are the end of the hallway camera SR4 wireless hackable? I'm thinking my agent Gabriel won't be able to hack the cameras, but of course I could with the right toolkits and skills, none of which Litany has.

iBall will make an expensive bug.
grendel
No, both cameras are hardwired to the system.
WinterRat1
Vegas - Go ahead and reply, and while you're at it, it's dumb luck time.

Pick one: Odd or Even

Perception check, if needed:

[ Spoiler ]
bclements
Hmm, there's no light on in the room I take it? Any other light switches besides the lamp? And how close is it (the lamp or the switch, or both if they are there) to the door?
Vegas
WinterRat1 - Even.

Sorry.. having a bit of issues finding time to post in between getting to and from work without a car. Stupid thieves. frown.gif
bclements
Damn. Just...Damn frown.gif
grendel
No, no light on in the room. There's probably a light switch somewhere, but from where he's standing Tony doesn't see it.

QUOTE (WinterRat1)
Before any other actions you take, roll Agility + Climbing to see if you lose your balance and fall as a result of the shelf being rocked by the Powerball.

If you wish to continue to climb the shelf, you have two choices:

a) Climb as much as you can this IP and then jump in an attempt to grab the floor of the catwalk.

You will obviously face a penalty for what is essentially two skill uses this phase (Climbing and Gymnastics), not to mention a penalty for probably having to jump a fairly high distance to grab on to the floor of the catwalk. Additionally, if you miss, you will be consider to be jumping off a several meter high object, with all the problems that potentially entails.

However, on the plus side, since you go first, you'll be able to get up there before anyone can do anything if you succeed.

OR

b) Climb as much as you can this IP, and then jump in an attempt to grab the floor of the catwalk during your Phase in IP 3, right before the shelf collapses.

The downside to this is that if anyone so much as breathes on this shelf (i.e. damages it for 1 more box of damage) it will collapse before you can jump...unless I'm feeling generous and give you an opportunity to jump and you make an absolutely MONSTER roll to jump off in time and grab the catwalk. I would not feel good about betting on this possibility, just so you know.

The upside to this is that you are much more likely to succeed in climbing to the catwalk, as you'll have an entire action (with no/very little penalty) to climb the shelf this IP and then another entire action to make a Gymnastics roll (with no/very little penalty) to jump to the catwalk.

Warehouse people-
Sorry for the delay. I'm not receiving email notices and have been too busy at work (when I usually post...productivity at its finest) to check the threads.

WR1- My actions are below.

My players- Again, sorry for the LONG delay. I haven't forgotten about anyone.

[ Spoiler ]
grendel
Roll me some perception for Tony, please.
bclements
Here ya go:

[ Spoiler ]
grendel
Tony hears someone at the door to the apartment, sliding a passkey through the lock.
bclements
This was going too easily anyway. Ok, the main door to the apartment opens into the apartment, right? Which side are the hinges on?
grendel
Yes, the main door opens into the apartment. From where Tony is standing now the hinges are on the right hand side of the door.
WinterRat1
Warehouse People - OK, everyone go ahead and post your actions for IP 2 IC.
grendel
Roll me some infiltration there, Tony. Then initiative.
bclements
I knew it.

Here we go:
Infiltration

[ Spoiler ]

Initiative

Also:

[ Spoiler ]

That is, only if the battle is worthy, o wielder of railguns smile.gif
grendel
No, not really. Plus initiation is 10 + grade * 3, no 10 * grade * 3.
bclements
Fixed. I did pass math in high school. Really, I did.

There's no shame in it.
bclements
grendel: Tony's not yet in combat, right?
grendel
He should be rolling initiative right...about...now. smile.gif
bclements
Glitch! smile.gif

Want me to post now, or wait on you?
grendel
Uh.

Huh.

This suddenly became more complex than I anticipated.
bclements
Is this guy suicidal? And did he get Reign?
grendel
No data. And, no, Tony doesn't think Reign was hit.
bclements
Options, options, options...

Let's go for what looks like a sure thing:

[ Spoiler ]

Let's see if that calms this joker down.
grendel
Colt Manhunters come equipped with a laser sight, giving you an additional die in your dice pool.
bclements
Just rolled a couple of dice, nothing to report (a 3 and a 2, nothing adding to the rolls above). I'll add them in with the next rolls, if more shots are required.
bclements
Perception to frisk this guy and check his pockets.

[ Spoiler ]
grendel
All he has on him are his commlink, a lighter and pack of cigarettes, a pack of gum, and a pocket knife.
