Okay, I'm back now, Redjack do I need to note any additional stun damage from that action?
Are we in a place I can leave my bike? How much is the cost for leaving the bike at the garage we're at? I'd like to ride in the car since I drive for shit and need to rest to clear up the one drain if that's okay.

No stun damage. Spell cast at a low enough power.
You are at
Anytime Parking, a fenced lot with an attendant that is open 24x7. Fees are 3

/hour. Full day passes are 30

/day and weekly parking passes can be had 100

each.

Alright, the Johnson sent us the information of where the pick up point for the package is going to be, but I've been looking through both threads and I can't see where anyone actually slotted the chip with that info on it. Maybe I missed something...

Hell's Kitchen or Tarislar, apparantly. Which of those would Aeryn consider the one where getting through without getting into a fight (using bribes possibly) is more likely? Because I have absolutely no idea.

Saytr is in my table-top group... |
That was hard to miss.

As for the chip with the information... it's pretty obvious, that someone has taken it... Aeryn has at least looked at it and saved the coordinates, since otherwise it would be pretty hard to figure out any routes, I guess.

Here are the most important pieces from the conversation, for convenience's sake:
QUOTE |
"The basics of the job is to pick up a box in Redmond at 05:00 tomorrow and deliver it to my agent at a location in Tir at 22:00 tomorrow night. He will only wait 20 minutes."
"I do have a way that I can double the payout... I have the opportunity to bring out a container of equal size at the same rendezvous. I can have my contact meet you there with that. You bring that back into Seattle, here in the Puyallups, and I will pay you each 3,000 nuyen. How does that sound?"
She sits back in her chair and slides a chip case onto the table, "Included in there is the address to pick up the first case, the GPS coordinates and time for the drop off, the location to drop the second case and an LTG number to call if there are unforeseen issues. I would expect that you would be able to adapt to about every situation though so...."
Review of the map shows several possible border cross points into the Salishe that you are familiar with: - The first requires crossing through Hell's Kitchen. The terrain is horrid, the air worse and the locals just plain mean. On the plus side, its security rating Z and border patrols are minimal. - The second is crossing through Tarislar. Again security rating Z, but dealing with the LASA is a situation all unto itself. - You could always cross Puget Sound and take the long way around, though you are least familiar with. |

I'm pretty sure that Collateral would suggest Hell's Kitchen, because gangers are his scene, not elves, but we do have two elves in the party so that might make the Tarislar route a bit more appealing.
I guess I knew you'd looked at the chip, but I didn't see an actual street address for the pickup point or an approximate destination. It is nice to have all the important information in one place, though.

She lets her voice trail off as she looks around the room before starting again, "I have already transfered the expense money to Kilroy and I'm sure he will be contacting you with your replacement for the overpaid ork. Any other details you require?"
"Kilroy said you might be a straggler, I see you found the meet. Please take a seat. The team has already agreed to a single payment of 8k for up front expenses and fifteen hundred a piece upon delivery. The basics of the job is to pick up a box in Redmond at 05:00 tomorrow and deliver it to my agent at a location in Tir at 22:00 tomorrow night. He will only wait 20 minutes. Interested?"
"That guy would truely be unlucky, since he would have trouble to move with that box attached to his arm..." Aeryn says, smirking, then goes on. "It's a rather big box. 2m by 50cm by 50cm and 45 kg approximately. Oh yeah, and we will have to carry it for a good part of the way."

Kinda a toss up, but Tarislar is probably a route where bribes will be more effective, Hell's Kitchen's residents tend to respond better to brute force. Both are south of your current position and Redmond is north. Time is starting to get tight for making a 5am meet.

Somewhere in Puyallup. I don't know the area at all myself, so it's kinda difficult to give more specifics.

If Redjack says Loveland would be a fitting place, then Aeryn has her flat there.
Problem is, I really can't make any proper estimation how long everything takes...
I have not much of an idea how long it would take to get to Aeryn's flat to drop her bike off there (as I had intended), or how long it takes to get to the meeting point in Redmond from here or from there.

Looks like it's some 50 or 60 km from Puyallup to Redmond. We can probably take the freeway for most of the distance.

Taking the most direct routes via googlemaps, it will take us 7 minutes to get from Anytime Parking to Zion's Doss, and then another 46 minutes to get from Zion's to the pickup point. That's their estimated time using speed limits, etc, so we could shave some time off of it, but realistically we don't have enough time anymore to drop off the bike before getting the package. Going right from anytime to the pickup spot has an estimated time of 47 minutes - right up our alley if we drive fast to shave a bit of time.
RJ - do you think collateral would estimate there's enough room in the back of the van for both the bike and the package?
Redjack
May 25 2007, 04:50 PM
Worse yet, you don't have room for the package and the bike in the back of the vehicle..
Thanee
May 25 2007, 06:20 PM
Perfect planning!

Ok, so there are basically only two options...
1) leave the bike here at Anytime Parking as we'll have to get back there, anyways
2) take the bike to the meeting point and remote the car from there
Doh! Guess we should have started to think about this in more detail the evening before...

Hey RJ, I'd like to make the turn onto stewart avenue, and then stop as abruptly as I can, grab my shotgun off the back of the bike and then hopefully do enough damage to them as they round the corner to scare them off. I'll also use my huge bike as cover.
Driving roll to stop abruptly:

1) Driving the speed limit, just over, way over or foot to the floor?Knowing quite a bit about the area, Aeryn should know what's doable without getting too much attention (as I have no clue

)... probably slightly over the limit to catch up a bit, or within the limit where speed controls might happen or happen regularily.
2) I assume Hwy-167 to I-405 in Renton to Northrup (Bellevue) then Hwy520 to the edge of the Redmond Barrens?Sounds good. Aeryn will try to avoid any obvious checkpoints, though.

3 hits is enough for a reasonable power slide stop.
Make an athletics test, a surprise test (REA + INT) and roll initiative.

Aeryn's smuggling experience in limited mostly to the Puyallups District and crossing the border there. However, she is very knowledgeable about smuggling routes in the area so give me a series of smuggling routes checks. First normal, second at -2, third at -2, fourth at -4.

For the athletics test, default to agility (-1dp)
@Cedric & Satyr
[ Spoiler ]
There is no reason at this time to assume that anything is wrong with Collateral. It has been three minutes and you knew he was going to be following up behind. You can however take this opportunity to connect your coms to your team mates allowing the sharing of locations and providing an established communications network. If you don't have an encryption program for your coms it will be pretty easy for someone to eaves drop and see all your positions as well.
@Thanee
[ Spoiler ]
Aeryn knows from experience that speeding is usually the last thing that the Star is worried about in the Puyallups, so she should be g2g to to go way over the speed limit on Hwy-167 in the Puyallups.
As the 167 runs between Auburn and Tacoma, Police enforcements steps up as you pass by the Pacific neighborhoods of Auburn. Going a little over should be fine.
By the time the 167 reaches the 18 and the Auburn neighborhood of Auburn, it gets a little chancier. Auburn is a AA rated neighborhood. Sometimes enforcement on the 167 is draconian and other times it is simply at elevated levels..
Passing between Renton & Lower Downtown the entire stretch is simply at elevated levels. The various neighborhoods on either side are security rated between A and B.
You "stomping grounds" being the Puyallups and sometimes just north of the Puyallups this far north you are now working from word of mouth rather than experience.
The 167 ends in Renton and you will need to change over to the I-405. Once you pass into Bellevue, you know that there are a number of AAA rated neighborhoods so sticking to the interstate will definitely be in your best interest.
Hwy-520 will take you from Bellevue and into the barrens. Word is that some areas of Bellevue are actually walled off from the Barrens.

Okay, then I'll hook my comm up with Aeryn as she and I are in the vehicle together and then go back to summoning a watcher spirit which had been the plan before Collateral got into trouble. As far as I can tell the summoning should be only one combat turn, so I should be done before we realize that Collateral is in trouble but please let me know when we begin to suspect something is wrong. I'll do a quick astral scout and find him so I can share the data with the team.
Question, I'm hoping to avoid drain but I have 1 box of stun and am going to want to rest at some point before the meeting. Assuming optimal conditions how long is this drive going to take?
