@Gobogen: I can answer that one for you....as far as you know, there are no weapons concealed on my actual person in anyway that could be easily reached. My messenger bag has some slight odd bulging, but there would be no way to tell what is in there since it is packed fairly tight and I don't think they have an x-ray vision mod yet. You can check out the Character Sketch I posted on the first OOC page if you want to see what Tigger looks like....since that is how he looks now. Ain't really much of any place to hide a weapon.

Yeah I figured from the info you posted on the first page of the OOC. I have already checked the drawings too (good work mate). I'm just trying to pretend I didn't know what you carry.

I'm all up for an unarmed fight between us btw

I honestly wonder who would win.

Unarmed? I don't know, I wonder as well...but with any sort of weaponry you would probably wipe the floor with me.

Ok, time for the GM to provide the players some details:
The next planned event is at 20:00. For reasons not yet known to the players, there will be no contact from Kilroy. Fixers and Johnsons always call according to their schedule, not the beck and call of runners, so this is nothing knew to any of you. Please advance your characters towards that time frame. Not all of you will be included in the planned event for that time yet, but I will begin drawing the teams together following that mark in time.

I went ahead and advanced the first team to the call for the meet. I didn't want to frustrate the players with unresponsiveness from the Kilroy due to things going on behind the scenes. I've loved the player interaction at this point and your getting into the scene, especially between Tigger and Rex.
Team #2 will be forming up in the next few days. If you have any other interactions you wish to resolve prior to shortly after 20:00, work them out in IC, OOC or PM me.
I also would like to solicite a little feed back. Do you feel the scenes are explained well enough? I am giving you enough to work with? Do you feel the OOC is being used effectively by me to keep you as players in the loop? Am I pushing on too fast? Or not soon enough?

Aeryn knows none of you (yet). It's likely, that she has seen Rex a few times, though, now that I think about it, considering, that she is a regular at the Mall since quite some time.
I was also a little confused about who is where and when, which is why I was generally a little shy about posting something concerning other characters.

[ Spoiler ]
Jake & Grayson: 19:10; Northern Puyallups
The filtration system of the customized van blows triple filtered and conditioned air into the cab as the van rolls across the district. You've been here before. This van on this road headed to the Mall.
Last time it was to broker a deal with Don "The Rock". That was two months ago and the troll Rex was with you then. Rock had acquired a some heavy weaponry and specialized ammunition. Your job was to pick it up near Fort Lewis and deliver it to various factions in the northern Puyallups. Simple job. Just don't get mugged. Went well until the Yaks got wind of it. In the end, you got it delivered complications not withstanding.
Word is Rock got shut down and sent to the pen. Then he got shanked. That's the bad thing about shadow contacts they come and they go.
At this point only Rex, Jake and one of Grayson's identities have worked together for Kilroy.
I will also have that Jake has once worked with Buzz on a light run for Kilroy.
Rex has worked security for a number of Mall vendors and given his distinct appearance might have been seen around by others, but not known.

The Mall is independant, to a point. The mob and the other major players keep the peace, enforce the rules. No gang colors inside the building. Outside and below only.
Other gangs tend to take delight in someone wearing colors inside.

Com units
I feel abliged to clarify com units since some of the details are a little vague and I don't think everyone understands the various complex aspects of a 2070 com unit. First, a com serves the function of the following devices:
- - Cell phone, music player, pda and personal computer
Your com interacts with things in a variety of different ways:
- - SkinLink/Datajack: Direct physcial connection
- - Laser/infrared: Direct, but wireless connection. Cannot be hacked (per say), but can be seen if you can view the correct spectrum.
- - PAN (Personal Area Network): When communicating with a device (cyberware, refrigerator, TV, doorlock) or another PAN/computer system/node the conversation is limited by the lower signal rating of the two devices.
- - LTG (Local Telecommunications Grid): While this grid is still wireless, it enables you to send and receive calls. Your lifestyle pays the access rights here. You can download movies, call friends outside your signal range, etc. It must be linked to a SIN to work.
PAN Modes [ OFF, Hidden, Passive, Active]
LTG, Skinlink, Datajack, Laser, Infrared Modes [ OFF, ON ]
Note: Not all devices are capable of using Skinlink, Datajack, Laser or Infrared Modes. The com unit must possess those optional hardware interfaces.
So, a person can be in PAN hidden/Off and still receive your message if you have their LTG and they are connected to the grid (LTG mode = ON).
Hope this helps.

So, what should we include in our post header then?
Maybe like this?
PAN = passive (LTG, Skinlink) <-- those are ON, those unmentioned are OFF
Oh, and I don't think you could be connected to an LTG with your PAN = off.

I like that. Let's use that. Here is an example:
Tuesday, February 20th, 2007; Crime Mail, Puyallup, Seattle
Simon aka PartyTime; PAN: Hidden [LTG]; SIN = Simon Vindicre
NOTE: You must have a SIN loaded to have access to the LTG. In PAN modes Hidden or OFF, that SIN is not broadcast.
---
I would say skinlink only exists if you bought it. I would say about everyone has infra red on a non-cyber com link. Allow you to direct your unsolicated PMs to other peoples coms without spamming the message to everyone. Downside is its pretty visible when you do it. Upside is most people don't care or they filter their PANs.

SIN should only be broadcast in Active Mode for others to see. Only then can others access your PAN (normally) to gain information from it.
Of course, whatever service provicer you use for your communication activity will be able to read your SIN for verification purposes (even in Hidden Mode).
Also important... when you are not connected to the LTG you can't receive calls or messages (except from comms directly linked to your PAN).

Feb 26 2007, 09:47 PM
Thanee is correct on all accounts, though in passive mode you specify what information is shared and could in fact share the SIN while still filtering unwanted incoming communications. If your have LTG off, you can't received calls or text from your fixer, momma, etc.. unless he/she is nearby or skipping off a local PAN.
Note: A hacker can hack nearby PAN connected to the LTG and then attempt to hack your hidden PAN that is not connected to the LTG. There are then some limitations if you are a hacker trying to do this, but it is possible.
Also, just to clarify: The Mall Office is on the second floor and the characters in it on also on the second floor. <G>

The usual protocol for your deliveries is that the client pays a percentage up from to Jack. You arrive with the goods. They inspect them and transfer the rest to an account and Jack's account then sends your com a text that the transaction is complete. You then leave the pack and get your courier fee automatically deposited.
