With that in mind, we should just go on without the snowmobiles, IMHO.
The trailer will just mean, that we get to a point where we either have to abandon it or park the car, way too early, I think.
With the car alone we should have it easier to get through the mountains and the last part we'll have to go by foot, as originally planned, then. Will make it easier to sneak through, also, as we are less susceptible for sensor detection then.

sorry it took so long for me to respond been really busy lately. i think we should rent them because if the snow get''s to bad and i have been looking at the weather channel for the time we are there and what not and seeing as Zion is from this area i think the SUV will probably get stuck well before we get to a point where we can safely get to the RP before we freeze. i mean the orc might be ok but the rest of us would probably freeze over or at least take negatives on all actions due to early symtpoms of hypothermia, the very leat let me rent one and i will follow the team as we go since we are going throught snow banks and there are no plowed roads i will be more then capable to keep up with you guys as long as i get the right equipment, if thats ok with the rest of the team other wise i would suggest that we get enough so we can all go on snowmobiles.
Thanee
Jan 19 2008, 11:36 AM
If the snowmobiles can be used from here already, that might work.

Not against the idea with the snowmobiles at all, I just think that the trailer won't really help us getting as far as we want. And if taking them with us (on a trailer) hinders us more than it helps... but if you can get one to accompany us, that would be great, I think.

Snow is on the ground all around. Snow mobiles could be used from town.

Then let's do that (take one snowmobile along with the SUV) and get some fuel canisters, so it has enough range.

I can't find the Invisible Castle area to cut and paste like it used to or I would.
It has a script running to make things easier (thus making them more 'complicated' in a way, since it works different than one is used to).

You just have to click on the link it then copies it for you, so you can come here and paste it. There's a collection of links to copy in the lower section of the result page.

RJ, I'm heading out in a couple of minutes, I am going to post, but it looks like you've already posted my only thing, getting us moving again. Please feel free to play Cynic for me until I get back on Tuesday next week. He's got two boxes of drain/stun damage which he'll try and recover through rest if possible. I don't believe that has any negative penalties at this point, I think he starts getting penalties at 3 boxes. He's also got his water elemental bound spirit on call if needed.
I'm out of here, I've got court in twenty minutes then right after court I'm off to Sea-Tac then down to AZ for a week of SCA partying, fighting, and fun!

Feb 15 2008, 01:02 PM
AFAIK, the plan was (and still is?) to leave the vehicle in Salish-Sidhe territory and cross the border by foot.
At least originally it was said we could hike there...
QUOTE
Ms Johnson looks to Aeryn and replies, "The delivery is in a wooded location about 5 miles in. GPS coordinates will be provided. I would advise hiking in as opposed to a vehicle... But its your call."
...a river makes this a little difficult. But the river is probably frozen, so we can simply move over it. Right!?

We do not want to get near Tir border forces at all, either way, so any bridges crossing into Tir territory are out of question.
That leaves... swimming? Could be a bit cold.

Feb 21 2008, 10:52 PM
Okay all I'm back.
I've read the IC post and I'm frankly at a loss.
The columbia river never freezes over, it's huge. At it's narrowest we're still talking about a relatively long crossing. I'm of the opinion we scope out one of the bridges. If we can hack into the security cam and it's only one guy then I could use my Control Thoughts spell to maybe get us through.
If we're crossing the river we're looking at stealing a boat. Swimming is out of the question, the water would be freezing and we'd never be able to make it all the way across.
There is also a dam at the Dalles we could hit but I believe that is East of our current location.
If we steal a boat I could use more water elemental summoning to help.
Has Cynic recovered any from the drain? Do you want me to roll that?
Redjack
Feb 21 2008, 11:22 PM
You are fully recovered from drain. Plenty of time since the summonings.

Thanee/Cedric - What do you think?
Cedric Rolfsson
Mar 5 2008, 07:40 PM
Well, spirit patrols nix using magic to get past. I say, if we can't create an ID that justifies our border crossing then we steal a boat. With more time maybe we could hijack a semi and put the SUV in the trailer but I'd need hours to ward the trailer to prevent spirits from checking us out.
I'm out of ideas other than the boat. Let's see if we can 'borrow' one from the hatchery.
Thanee
Mar 5 2008, 11:38 PM
Yep, can we get some info about possible boat obtaining places, legal or otherwise?

I need some details. Are you taking the snow mobiles or stashing? Sounds like a pair of inflatable rafts from the outfitters? For another 50

you can get a pump to inflate, deflate the rafts. Where will you stash the suburban (and snow mobiles) before the trip across the river?
You can post the answers either in IC or OOC and I will post up.
