Dumori
I'll post the post for the new years meet and party up on Friday so make sure your all on the same day XD. On the wiki I will begin to post articles on keypower players and such. Beginning with a detailed look on TSAT then General Yassem (these represent conman and shadow knowledge that could be found with data searches and simple legwork). I hope this add to the flavor of the plot I will also add a IC section The Oupost for different Mercenaries' outlooks on the events feel free to post IC in that area when its up. I will also reference a few items of good reading to help stay IC/ understand your place in the 6th world. Also 85% of Sub-Saharan Africa's population died out with Vistas so its more populated in urban locations plus with para-critters pushing rural people to lager settlements its now much less people friendly.

FYI, mates. I've got the ability to set up life pacts. A couple of you already have them set up. Let me know if any of you others want one.

LIFE PACT:
Cost to you: 1 karma per use.
Result: spend 1 complex action and instantly heal 2P damage.

Is that your freebie Pact?
Muspellsheimr
Technically, we still have to pay Karma for the Spirit Pact Quality if we take you up on that, unless Dumori waves it.
crizh
I've been wondering about this.

Free Spirits get one Pact for free. I'm pretty sure this is to encourage them to take the new Friendship Pact without which they are incapable of earning karma.

As I recall a Friendship Pact does not require the 'Friends' to expend karma for the quality but all the others certainly do.
Mickle5125
It's not my freebie pact. I did pick up friendship pact as that one. Life Pact, I paid for.

huh... you'd have to pay karma to get it? didn't really know that... *ponders, then shrugs* I'm sure dumori won't complain...
Dumori
The pacts are free form our spirit as with 10 edge is 100karma that logicly gose to him and not going to happen also RAW could alow this.. as friendship pact says its free to players and the first spirit pact that spirit takes is free.

Makes me almost wish I'd saved a little bit of karma after character creation. Almost. I had to have all those anti-vehicle missiles.
JoelHalpern
I expect that as things play out Tam will probably talk with Adrian about this (life pact) within a few sessions.
Joel / Tam
Mickle5125
FYI to fluff out what Dumori's saying: For the life pact, You aren't going to be charged to form the pact. IC reasoning is that Adrian's not charging you for it, because he knows he'll make up the difference for a long time before any of you get killed. BTW, AI characters cannot form a spirit pact. Unfortunately, any of you who have AI characters are plain out of luck.

In other news... I still don't have a call sign.

EDIT: Dumori has suggested "Dead Man's Hand" for my call sign. Opinions?
Dumori
Ok every one the game will fully start this week. So post you arrival to the meting. Then I'll put a IC post up. If you can't make it in person Dust has rigged a few holo-projectors up with cameras to allow to to "be" there. After this round or two of posting we'll begin the job. As I ad-hoc more than right full scritps and such any Ideas on wat to will be taken in to account though I will "railroad" a tiny bit for the first part of the plot (it's needed that you fight on one side of the TSTA war thus you will be forced in to that and fighting for makes the most sence you'll see why.)
crizh
Looking at my IC posts so far, I've assumed the meeting is on the morning of the 1st, is that right?

If not I can always edit them and dial the dates back one day...

That's the beauty of the PCs being mercenaries. They're on the side that you put them on, since that's who's paying them. And this really doesn't seem like the sort who're idealistic enough to decide they need to switch sides for some moral reason.
BlackHat
For fun? Maybe. For a moral reason? No.
Intro
For fun? No. For a moral reason? No. Because they see an opportunity for getting paid twice? Almost definitely.

(Using the Schlock Mercenary school of mercenary ethics)

Well its the night of the 31st/early hours of the 1st but I can also move it to the 1st its not that important when exactly it happens just need to be close to that start of the year.
Dumori
Well is it just the money you want or can other thing play in to the bargin....

And keeping to your word following though a contract is important for mercs if you get paid to do something them do the opersit its not the best rep more important for mercs than runners rep is.
crizh
Of course there is nothing to stop you completing your contract and then, having proved your worth, immediately hiring on with the other side...

Can we go with late morning on the 1st then? Give everyone a chance to party and then sleep it off...
Intro
Yeah, the Schlock Mercenary reference also reminds one to pay very close attention to the precise details of the contract before agreeing to the job.
Dumori
Yep and to negotiate pay increases incase things go hairy. if you get hired to stand and scare off an attack but it turns to a war you don't just want t get paid for standing and looking pretty nyahnyah.gif. If I think Its needed I'll negotiate the first contract as Dust to show how but it looks like you all get the jist of it so that should be fine.
Dumori
OK squinky has agreed to draw all of our mercs and to s group pic as well so I will start a page on the wiki for you to drop how you want the pic and for a description of how they would look in it as well as what cards you handle is.

Theres a link to the post here I'll have a link to the page up in a few mins

Heres the link for posting you descriptions

http://fieldsoffire.wikidot.com/the-pictures

On a side note if you have not made an account please do so so you can edit your pages as I've only put up the most recent version I could find.
Mickle5125
Most employers will add a "no turncoat" clause to the contract... makes it so that you can't be hired by the other side for, say, a year, so that you don't use information gained during your employment against your employer.
Muspellsheimr
Which is why you have a hacker remove such a clause before signing (or after). If they happen to be using paper, nanites can do the same.

Mickle5125
soo... call sign. Any problems with Dead Man, referring to dead man's hand (Aces and Eights)?
Tarantula
Sounds good to me.
DWC
Don't see any problems with that.
JoelHalpern
So who or what are we waiting on? (If the answer is me, I will happily eat a little crow and do whatever I have forgotten.)

Thank you,
Joel
Mickle5125
As of the last time I talked to Dumori, he's working on the IC post now. He was waiting for a couple people who have been afk for a while, but he's decided that they can always catch up later.

Ergo, it should be posted soon... I hope...
BlackHat
I probably am one of those people, but I *have* been keeping an eye on the OOC and IC. smile.gif Overkill already arrived at the warehouse (I assume that's where we store our big-ass obviously military vehicles) - although I saw him arriving the last day, worried he missed the opportunity to go blow some shit up.
Dumori
Ah I'm working on it but I'm getting almost 36+hours of out os school work a week! So I'm readusting my routine to fit it all in the IC is being typed up on my iPod though I have a large chunk of free time tomorrow if i don't get to much more work so it should be up then. Thinsg will run much more smoothly soon RL is just shitting on me ATM 70%+ of my work is just maths.
Dumori
IC up not a long one the meeting will start shortly just a RP post of arrival and sitting down type stuff and bringing up IC points. I'm working on the next "true" plot post now.
Tarantula
ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!
Dumori
Next GM post will be up on the 23rd so if you want some RP down do it tomorrow

For whom are we waiting?

Thanks,
Joel / Tam

PS: I had assumed that Abaddon would compose the various notes seeking offers, based on his effective charisma of 12. Failing that, presumably Ze should do it.
Mickle5125
Dumori's been pretty busy recently. He'll be posting the next IC as soon as he can.

No clue who we're waiting for, other than perhaps that Dumori's schedule got hectic.
Dumori
you can say that in the last 24hours alone ive gotten invited to two gigs fro free not turning that down and well as many other escapades. But yeah I hope to do it all yesterday but look like sunday or monday now frown.gif. In fact I might just put a place holder up with teh describtion of waht going to happen now the fill it out over the weekend.
Dumori
Just to let you know the next post is in the work I'm not dead though my Internet browers has been playing up.
Dumori
I post is up it not the best feel free to RP before that post but atm I need to get the game started before I lose the plot. I'll post more data on sunday. But the basics are the heavy gear was shiped out on the 3rd in a hired sky train took time to get clearence to move arms of that type across some contrys and corp areas. On the 4th Overkill sets of with the others flying faster due to the lighter load bout arive on the 6th/7th more or less.
Dumori
Due to circumstances beyond my control my post will be via the proxy of Mickle5125 this is due to redecoration in my house meaning that for a while and even more so now my internet has been iffy and now this is likely the last time for a bout a week ill eve be able to get on the PC. So I'll be emailing Mickle my posts from my ipod as I piggy back on any Wi-Fi i can ove the next few days.
JoelHalpern
Well, losing ones home Internet access is definitely a good reason for things getting slow.
(What is it. One GM has his disk crash, and one has his house torn up.)

Good luck with the redecorating,
Joel

"If their radar picks up one of our vehicles

on a side note any ground based radar would be very short range in a desert. (my dad spent a long time as a radar technician in the military) The dues would block it reducing it range. and only a small wave length radar has any change or piercing a dune but are shorter range than normal radar thus only an air strike would be picked up early by radar. I do my home work on stuff. so a ground assulte should work. The advance team could even aim to knock out the radar so overkill and AD xan rush the site ASAP.
Dumori
I'm waiting for post by those who haven't posted yet if by friday they haven't posted I will run them my self as we need the APC. Scope_47 is still absent so ill be running kaira for now.
DWC
Works fine for me.
