The poll is closed, and the results have been sent out. Only one could win though (and I'm still amazed that one made so much of an impression!). Yet all the mentions were exceptional, and deserve to be acknowledged. So, every single GM and player involved in a moment that was nominated also gets a point of karma for having been nominated. Here are the exact breakdowns and the final karma bonus totals:
- Alleycat +1 (astral quest) +1 (GMing Blimp of Doom) +1 (GMing Dragon's covering Sybersnake and Tiffany) +1 (for winning) = 4
- bclements +1 (discovering the bodies) = 1
- Cosmo +1 (date at the old movie theatre) +1 (waking up Jan 3) = 2
- Daedalus +1 (Blimp of Doom) +1 (for winning) = 2
- Dragon +1 (Blimp of Doom) +1 (covering Sybersnake and Tiffany) + 1 (GMing Alleycat's astral quest) +1 (for winning) = 4
- Ecclesiastes +1 (Matrix run) = 1
- Virgil +1 (Blimp of Doom) +1 (for winning) = 2
As the first person to have nominated the Blimp of Doom (way back when on July 12!), bclements also gets an additional +1 karma, for a total of 2.
(At least the Blimp of Doom won't be eligible for the next poll: because the next nominees must be
alive
)

Scrap/Slip- One of you make the post for Iris calling the Wongs, since for a post like that where its outcome could have a material impact on the player storyline, I prefer to leave it in the players hands. When you call, you may roll Iris’s etiquette of 3 as well.

Looking for a couple of cars fairly close together as average as possible (probably means a mid-blue Americar), similar appearance, similar "feel", similar colour (wrist computer scanner), probably something in a distant security-cam "dead" area for a mid blue-collar/low white-collar mall parking lot (probably means Tacoma -- she'd not be doing this in "home" territory in any case). Alarms often "beep beep" audibly when they're set. If she can find someone who's forgotten to do that, so much the better.
The reason for two cars is to switch out the plates between them (should be quick). Then yank out the transponder (link to the other car if quickly possible) and the automatic shut-down. Gloves, of course.

If anyone's curious about SR4, I've been trying to compile the actual data people mentioned on Dumpshock (as opposed to speculation)
here.
We aren't sure yet how we're going to work this. (For one thing, more than two of us GMs have to get our hands on the actual rules! and then we're going to have to at least try to understand them.) No matter what, we'll be working at least a month or two in SR3 yet. Figure --
maybe -- we might have something we can actually work with by then. When we do, WinterRat will announce it.
Just because it's looking like my "Jill-of-all-trades" (as my PC was once called in the Salvation thread) might actually benefit from the new rules won't in any way influence how we work this

Back online. SR4 has been officially released, although the books probably won't be in stores until mid-September. It was a race to get them at Gen Con, the booth sold out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday within six minutes of opening. P.S. Bandit, Ronin, you guys remember that big argument my dad and I had at my house in front of you guys that one time in regards to whether there was a 'road closed' sign by my house or not?

Shadow: You and I should begin a dialouge (by email) about how to handle
Erebus's call to
Max. I am very willing to handle the roleplaying aspect of
Max if you are busy, since I've used him already, but I'd like you to tell me what information he should have concerning
Erebus's questions.
It is highly concievable that
Max is being tangled up in this web as well and if that is the case I'd like you and I to sort through it a bit before I go trodding my clumsy size 11's all over your cleverly woven web.
To all: Shadow and I can continue our discussion in private communication, I just posted here to let you know that we will be working on the issues

Good to see you back on track, bandit

About the car, noted: I'll try to get that written and finished today.
Re your requests, WinterRat:
Car time lasts from (more or less) 21:14:06 until 21:57:19. The last time you were on the phone with
Global was
roughly two hours ago IC, when you first put in the
Roberto request (along with a lot of other requests). Do you still want to call him again? If yes, post the call in-thread (main), and I'll work with you IC there. Are there any changes to what you're telling and/or asking?
You'd also already checked in with
Tiffany at an unspecified time
earlier today (third last paragraph), she'd been coming off an all-nighter at the office. She'd mentioned nothing about the faked report, just the current project (files and other corporate links): and she's had her people working on it furiously. Are you calling her again?

Sedna- Keep moving along up until meeting back up with Blaze and Klaus, per our discussions. You're doing fine, and I have nothing in particular for Black Tony at this time. Since it's a relatively simple business transaction, we can hold off going in depth on his character at this moment. Also, I will post letting you know Sivalius's response, but it will be via a voicemail that you can respond to at your leisure, so don't worry about waiting for me to do that or carrying on a conversation with him.
Paul/Sedna- STOP when you both meet back up with each other and Klaus. I will take it from there.
Oh, and ONE of you two call odd or even.
Slip/Scrap- You guys are doing good, proceed up until you meet the Wongs, and I will take it from there. Security for the building is similar to Max's. Nothing too heavy, reasonably standard for a High type lifestyle. Just another generic corporate condo type place.
Slip- No problems on the calls, although for reference, telepathic/magical communication (the sentence that said "what is in your nature to do, what you must do") is in red. Since it wasn't italicized I assume it wasn't simply an internal monologue, and it probably wasn't radio either. If I'm wrong though, feel free to ignore what I just said.

In that case (since we're abstracting) you'll maybe be wanting a roll?
[ Spoiler ]
Per the negotiation rules (his TN is 4, and I'd guess his Negotiating skill would be very high, probably a 5 or 6):
Partial default off CH (against Leadership!): 11, 8, 5, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1
Secondary skill Psychology: 11, 9, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Primary goal is borrowing a training sim (truck driving). Secondary is picking up some extra nuyen. Oh, and Alleycat's trying to sell off the Scoot too, though I doubt she'll get more than a handful of nuyen for it.
Another of the side projects I forgot to mention before had to do with
manufacturing pharmaceuticals (swapping expertise for supplies and maybe a bit of extra nuyen), but it's only been a couple of days on that front.
WinterRat1
Aug 24 2005, 11:05 PM
Sedna- He'll give you the training sim and 20% base cost (do not factor in Street Index) for the Americar and the Dodge Scoot each.
He got 6 successes against TN 4 compared to your 3 against TN 8. Base 4 + 4 for defaulting to attribute. This leaves you with 2 normal successes and 1 complimentary successes. -10% per net success on his part, for 20%. (It started at 50% base cost)
That comes out to a total of 4,400 nuyen, plus the training sim, enough to take you to skill level 1.
(I used the fixer archetype straight out of the BBB; Negotiation 7 and Gear Value complimentary skill of 6 since we're abstracting him. I felt it was legit since he has 'Mechanic and Fence' in his description, so he obviously knows vehicles)
Let me know if you have any questions.
