Hey McQuillan, I hate to point this out to you... but if that guy used APDS to shoot the van, it isn't Anti-Vehicle, so the armor of the vehicle is still doubled to defend. APDS only halfs the armor of Personal Armor, not Vehicle, only AV rounds do that.
Oh, and nice touch of having Wren backstab our asses.
BishopMcQ
Oct 6 2004, 06:09 PM
My understanding is that it halves the armor rating.
6pts Hardened become 3. 10M pistol still drops to 5L, 5 being greater than 3 means penetration, because penetration occurred the burst scales up to 8M. TN 5 to soak.
Regular bullets from the same gun would have bounced off, 6pts armor vs 5 power...
AV rounds--6pts armor stays, but the power doesn't doesn't drop on the pistol, 10M becomes 13S, TN 7 to soak.
RE: Wren--People take flaws, I just role play them out if they don't.

"APDS is not anti-vehicular and is therefore treated as normal ammunition against vehicles and drones." (p. 116, SR3)
Just trying to help.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused by it now too. *waves his hands* Screw it, we can fix the van.
BishopMcQ
Oct 6 2004, 09:47 PM
Treated as normal ammunition meaning that it has power halved and damage code dropped by one level or that you may as well be shooting regular bullets (no 1/2 armor).
I will do more research tonight when I get home and post an official statement. We are moving forward and will adjust future encounters as necessary.

When and how did people want to do the interrogation? I'd heard a motion for taking him out of Dr. Roth's office but was unsure if it passed.

Oct 7 2004, 07:00 AM
I was going to suggest seeing if the doctor had some "truth serum" on hand to help out. I have intimidation but no interogation.

Any spells we have that could help?
BishopMcQ
Oct 7 2004, 07:10 AM
Dr. Roth would inform you that the patient is currently on about 3x the normal dosage to keep him sedated (Body 9) but as it is, he wouldn't be in much condition for higher level brain functions for about the first twenty minutes that you talk to him due to the tranqs.
Leowulf
Oct 7 2004, 01:31 PM
Assuming that Callisto shares her information, we don't need to know who hired him now. Biomage will definitely want to know where Wren is though.
Biomage has Analyze Truth 4. That will help us.
Ecclesiastes
Oct 7 2004, 05:55 PM
Awesome. We'll have to do the interigation at the Docs though, while he is still a bit under and less likely to lie.
BishopMcQ
Oct 7 2004, 06:16 PM
When people are ready, move yourselves through time and space or let me know and I'll bump it. Also the interrogator may want to throw a glance to p.94 of the BBB for the modifiers to the test.
Buddha--you can default to intimidation at a +2 instead of charisma at +4

Oct 7 2004, 06:40 PM
Why are people assuming Wren hired him? We need more evidence first. I will attempt to interrogate him. I will get a room from the doctor. Have the team in the room for the questioning, have Biomage cast his Truth spell, and have my sword out threatening him with it. I want Biomage to power bolt his comm gear, we will put it on his body.

Powerbolt 5D on his comm unit.
Sorcery (8) Test: I'll skip to the drain, since it's already happened.
Just for kicks though, 3, 5, 9, 13, 4
Drain Resistance (F/2 +1 = 3D): 3, 1, 10, 5, 2 = Serious Stun
Analyze Truth 4 to make sure he doesn't lie to us. Sorcery Skill + Power Focus die + Spell Pool. Stun damage modifiers are negated by the Pain Editor.
Sorcery (W) Test: 1, 2, 4, 2, 1 + 5 + 2, 2, 2, 2, 21 = Success (I think)!
Hope his Willpower isn't too high, or I'll have to try again.
Drain Resistance (F/2 L = 2L): 9, 5, 1, 1, 4 = No additional drain.
By the way, how much do we owe Dr. Roth so far?
BishopMcQ
Oct 7 2004, 08:59 PM
2200

for the brainscan
200 for patching up the assassin.
Any gratuity you wish should be added to that.
Leo--Because the commlink has a body 0, any damage will immediately destroy it...don't sweat the drain. The spell seems to settle around him.

You know, this run just keep getting better and better. I'm liking it quite well.
A French or Italian accent? Could this be Monseigneur Joseph Mennon? You know, I just looked it up, and Monseigneur is an old French title for someone of respect or nobility. Maybe Mennon is originally French, and he works out of Rome, where he could have picked up a partial Italian accent from being around Italian people. He'd already have a French one.
BishopMcQ
Oct 9 2004, 03:13 AM
Leo--In the Catholic church "Monsignor" is a title given to priests between Father and Bishop. It's basically an honorific, but it is derived from the old French "Monseigneur" which literally translates to "my lord." Great research, but I didn't want you to see only half the word's meaning...

This may be unimportant, but I had pictured Biomage being a few paces directly in front of the assassin while Callisto was holding him against his will by the wall with everyone else sort of around the room looking at the assassin.
BishopMcQ
Oct 13 2004, 03:22 AM
Basically the assassin is going to have to dart past the group of you to make it to the door and, presuming he's successful, outrun any pursuers and the bullets/projectiles they put in the air. I almost feel sorry for him since he doesn't know the drone is outside...

Well, I can't say that's exactly comforting. So far, he's surprised us fairly well. He's supposed to be drugged. I figure he's an adept initiate with resistance to pain, rapid healing, and maybe some other powers. If he is able to suddenly try and escape, clearly he's either recovered considerably from the drugs or is very desperate to get away.
Let's not forget about the two trolls sitting in the waiting room either.
You never told me if my spell succeeded or not, or if the assassin was lying to us. Can I assume that what he said was true without making an ass out of u and me?
