I abstracted it slightly because of the mechanics for the search test. But you were in a shadow archive fed data by worms inside the Seattle Post data archival host, as well as, the Lonestar coroner host amongst others when you saw the anomaly.
BTW--Everyone, don't forget your weekly karma earned.

Cheezypoof--NP.
Team--Daedalus has exited stage left, I will have another mage for you shortly. What's the plan from here? Also, please feel free to let me know if the game has felt too heavy handed with the bumps, or any other comments on the game. I'm tryingto keep the pace moving, but don't want it to feel like I'm forcing anyone into things.

I am off on a vacation for a week starting this weekend and will be back next. McQuillan, feel free to NPC me so the game does lag down. I was going to check the good doctor's digs for signs of foul play and keep an eye on the team when doing matrix runs. You have my sheet for any skill rolls. I will see ya all in a week.

Shadow/Cheezypoof--Are you going inside with Calisto? Was there anything you guys wanted to do, sensor tests, perception, hostage taking?
Shadow
Jul 18 2004, 12:54 AM
Ok so I am going to set my drone to hover over the building for now. Then I am going to sweep the area with the vans active sensors. Once that is done I will jump into the drone and hover outside the good doctors window.
Being new to riggers I am not sure what roles are needed, anyone want to help an old man out?
BishopMcQ
Jul 18 2004, 01:11 AM
Let's presume you are captain's chairing the network for the moment.
--Make a pilot test for the drone, with basic handling -1 for non stressful.
--Sensor test from the van. (Active means just the rating of the sensors, but you could add a passive scan at the same time--your Int dice.)
--Complex action to take over the drone, drive test to dodge the trees in the park (Remember control pool), stealth test if you want to hover inconspicuously.
Those are the basics, if you want to do something fancier we can talk.

Back from my vacation and jumping right in.

I am going to do a Perception test on the place for anything out of the ordinary.
26 15 11 10 09 05 04 04 04 02 (wasted a 26!!!) I have vision mag, low light, thermo and lights.
Also Small Unit Tactics to see how I would do the job here, try to reverse engineer a wet work operation from what we see and know. Want to gauge if he was killed the traditional way then covered up.
11 05 04 03 03 03 01 (6 from skill and task pool of 1)

What's the weekly karma earned?
BishopMcQ
Jul 24 2004, 07:32 AM
1 pt. per week, as the story progresses I will award add'l karma as story award.
Edit: Buddha, without the autopsy reports it'd be hard to say. For a professional coverup you would need to be able to take the doctor entirely by surprise, paralyse him with a neural agent, make the incisions and get out. The records you have don't show any signs of drugs in his system, and there hasn't been a forced entry that you can find. Your skill would seem to say that a traditional killing coverd up would be a lot harder than it would be worth.

Good karma or karma pool? Or is it both with 1/10 going to karma pool?
BishopMcQ

You're earning good karma, every tenth rolls over to Karma pool for humans, every 20th for metas. It's basically as if you were at a tabletop game and the GM awarded karma for roleplaying

McQuillan - I am looking for any info that gives us some insight to how the doctor died. Do the wounds match ones that were self inflicted and was there any wierd findings by the medical examiner? What kind of cyber/bio ware was he sporting? I am trying to build a snap shot of his death before we begin the matrix side of the search. Thanks!

The Good Doctor had 300 Mps of Memory, 1 induction datajack, 1 math SPU, and the unknown pieces. Anyone can roll Cybertechnology to get a feel for the tech from the description in the coroner's report.

I glanced at the OOC thread for one of the games he runs to find it out. There was no mention of it here.
Also, you may want to give him a chance to get back, cause I'm sure he'd try to jam anything the drone is sending out.
BishopMcQ
Jul 31 2004, 02:11 AM
I will make the appropriate tests to attempt to jam the network. If the system is encrypted though, it takes a base time of minutes to defeat the encryption.
BishopMcQ
Jul 31 2004, 02:32 AM
Ok, I've pushed the thread along with actions for Shadow. As far as I can tell, he is lacking a Rigger Protocol Emulation module for his RC Deck so he failed his Intrusion test to access the network.
Team consensus--do you want to hit the broadband jammers? They are rating 2 and could cut out radio communication with the team inside. 3 votes will determine the matter since Shadow is not here.
Buddha72
Jul 31 2004, 04:23 AM
Since we really don't have anyway to lock down the drone I am for jamming. Question about the window where the drone is, is it possible to open and grab the little bugger?
BishopMcQ
Jul 31 2004, 05:36 AM
It'd be a reaction test to see if the drone could scramble back out of reach. Both sides have a TN-4, you're not wounded, concentrating on a spell or the like so there shouldn't be any modifiers.
However the action would be best done by 2 people. One to take a simple action unlock the window, simple action to open the window. The grab would be a complex action (similar to melee) taken by the second individual. Or you could simple action open the window, free action--quick draw, and simple action shoot the drone in the middle of the nicer part of Bellevue. So many choices...
Leowulf
Jul 31 2004, 12:02 PM
Fire a HE rocket at the window the drone is on and blow a large hole in the side of the building it used to be crawling on. Oh, and the chick should duck or something.

Sorry McQ. I thought I was going to have more internet access while I was down here and I ended up not having the time. Again, sorry. I am on vacation for another 4 days and I can resume normal posting at that time.
In the mean time, Jester could take the other drone out with the fire bat. It has a sniper rifle that should do the job nicely.
