| QUOTE (Fenris @ Jul 17 2005, 03:12 PM) |
My apologies, you're right, it would be an Edit Slave operation.
My understanding of the plan was that you were going to loop all the sensor feeds to the security system and the automated defenses so that no matter what happened, they wouldn't pick anything up or be able to lock onto anything. I thought I specified when you pulled the info you wanted to loop that it was all sensor feeds, not just cameras. As far as you know, the automated defenses should be useless at this point, not being able to read anything or receive new commands without some sort of internal hacking going on.
Airborne Team - Athletics tests please to make the jump to the roof.
Ground Team - Whatcha guys doing? |
Yes, you're right. I had forgotten that Blackjack had gotten all of the info feeds the last time because the defenses and cameras were on the same slave, since some time has passed in the real world.

Do you want new rolls, or do you want to use what I have?

Umm, yeah, I mean...Have him stay astral and just materialize when he need to blast people...."Say hello to my little friend..."

Blackjack -
I'll keep the rolls and we'll assume that you've successfully completed the the portion of your job that I remember you guys planning. Are you going to jack out at this point, or run Matrix overwatch?
Fenris
Jul 19 2005, 05:12 AM
Air Team - My apologies again about not specifying. I assumed Jester had ropes and that you weren't just dropping that whole distance to the roof. The Athletics rolls were all I needed, no damage taken. You're now on the roof.
Ground Team - Give me perceptions if you want to try and spot the Infiltration Team dropping out of the helo, otherwise don't worry about the roll.

Overwatch I think. I have to stay online to keep the security at bay, don't I? Could I like write up some quick code to keep the operation going or something?
Can I turn the defenses and still keep them under control while doing so?
Buddha72
Jul 22 2005, 04:43 PM
Blackjack If you wanted to actively point the defenses at something, you could do that with a Control Slave. If you wanted to set up a program to try and target the house defenders instead of attackers, you could do an Analyze Icon to try and figure out what the security system uses to differentiate people it detects, and modify that.
Currently, the loop will go for a number of hours depending on your successes, at which time it will be automatically discovered and flushed from the system. This is assuming nobody notices first.
Group - Go ahead and start moving with your actions per round. I won't be dropping into initiative for a little while yet, because everything slows way down then, and I'd like to avoid that until absolutely necessary.

Are you saying I don't have to have Blackjack monitor the operation?
If that's what you are saying, could I have her let the operation go by itself, then do the analyze icon and control slave stuff and set it up as a backup in case someone discovers the loop?
Where is the rule about the detection factor and hacking pool? It's a cool one, and I just wanted to read up on it. I can't find it.

Anyone going to answer the IC team check in?
Joli can't in her current form but someone should.
Ok here's the powers the elementals will be throwing down.
Water (2 at Force 6)
Engulf (can do as an area attack, their force in meters)
Burst any water pipes and mains, causing plumbing to flood, and directing masses of water like a fire house with line of sight.
Earth (2 at Force 6)
Engulf (can do as an area attack, their force in meters)
Movement (on a number of targets equal to force)
Create a small earthquake (4 or 5 on the Richter scale) creating Difficult Ground conditions in the affected area.
Fire (2 at Force 6)
Engulf (can do as an area attack, their force in meters)
Flame Aura on themselves.
Igniting flammable materials within line of sight.
I'm going to watch what unfolds and focus on individual targets of note. I have allocated spell defense to them and myself.
Sebastian as done the same for the inside team.

McQuillan - You spot the skylight, and the pressure plates and tripwires set up around it. I'll need an Electronics B/R[6] and an Electronics [6] if you want to disable the alarms on the skylight. Otherwise, use whatever method of loud intrusion you desire
Blackjack - No, you don't have to monitor the operation. Unfortunately, from what I understand, having the sentry drones turn on the guards in case the sensor loops fail is too complicated to code on the fly. You could have set things up that way if you had done the programming for it outside.
Joli - I'll try and give you an appropriate mental picture of the area, just let me know what actions the spirits are taking.
Currently, you're all standing across a 4 lane road from the edge of the property. The property's surrounded by a 2 meter tall wall. There's a gate in front of you (think iron porticullis), and a guard shack behind the gate. You don't see any of the patrols, but you know from the groups recon that there are patrols out there. Unfortunately because of the wall your view is a bit restricted.
Tombstone - whatcha doing?

Do either of the outside people get Perception tests to see the mage casting at us? Or the elementals, since they have orders to wipe out Awakened targets first?
Fenris
Aug 4 2005, 12:32 AM
Tombstone and Joli, along with all 6 spirits, can make perception rolls to spot the target. Target is 200 meters away (+2 for distance), if you have vision magnification please indicate so with your rolls. There will be a penalty to perception rolls to see through the smoke and destruction laid down by the great form earth elementals (+2, those with natural low light or thermographic can ignore this modifier, cybernetic and normal vision will still suffer penalties), in addition to the modifiers for very small object (+6) and partially hidden (+2). Those currently astrally perceiving receive a bonus for very obvious action (-4).
TN for mundane with no vision mods: 16
