Speaking from the perspective of someone who has had to work 18+ hour days for months at a time to fend off obscenely demanding deadlines, I can say one thing...
Just because you have no time, doesn't mean you can't find time to relax. To work? Well, that's trickier. But to relax? Always possible to squeeze that in.
And there's nothing wrong with it either. Perfectly healthy.
In fact, anything less would be anything but.

Adam seems to become the first people working in the rpg industry to get his own fanclub.

You do know he is a cranky, flaky old fart that likes trolling? Not just boards, but everywhere. Which makes it hard to judge how serious he is about his game design views. Views that basically boil down to "the more unbalanced, the more munchkin friendly, the r33ter".
Gygax that is. Adam isn't so old.
P.S. I think Gygax is hilarios.
To be honest, Gygax is the poster child of vengeful DMing. His original DnD games were absolute killers to the players, so much that it's not surprising how he has ended up.
However, Gygax has basically been replaced by Skip Williams, who has so much of an overactive ego he has actually advised people to do things that directly contradicted the stated rules of the very books he helped write, resulting in him being outright attacked and at least three groups I know of breaking up because of the resulting fights. That, combined with actions by Nintendo when it comes to the Zelda series and a few other companies when it comes to games, is basically leading towards a trend of the makers of the games not being as important as the products when it comes to who has final say. I know quite a few DnD GMs who have outright ruled that unless it's in the books or in official errata, then it's just a houserule that they can safely ignore.
So, yeah, I do expect this to also pop up in SR in the future if FanPro keeps trying to draw in a larger audience. The problems with it amounts to the fact they'll be targetting these people who have been affected by such idiots as Skip Williams who will come on here with the attitude that what is officially in print is more important than what the designers have to say, and that if the designers have a problem with it they should get more errata out. Worse is that such people also, IME, tend to be far more inflexible when it comes to the rules and less willing to accept variations not covered in some book.
Anyway, back to my original point in what I was trying to say: Basically, Gygax is a joke and he knows it. Hell, I've actually emailed him to say such. I think, at this point, he started out doing that as a joke to poke fun at the whole problem people were having with game balance and has done it so long that he actually convinced himself the joke views are correct.

I'm not entirely convince it was that much exageration on his part to start with, though no doubt he is fully aware of it. Those Greyhawk icons were really just his ultra-highlevel toys for when he was on the player's side of the screen that he rolled into the background story. Complete with corny wordplay names.
