Nice to be back, Shadow. Its been a while.
I wasn't thinking of a decker, but if no one else wants to play one, I'll build one. I have in mind a character that is a bit new to the shadows. I'll send a sheet your way Grendel. Standard character creation rules I'm assuming?
Grey
Dec 10 2003, 12:26 AM
I'm already playing Otaku.
grendel
Dec 10 2003, 01:03 AM
Grey has the matrix aspect pretty much sewn up, but anything else you want to bring in is fine. Standard creation rules apply.

As Yum Donuts is sending a Mage, I'll do a samurai like I wanted.
I'm planning on having a Female Human Gunslinger called Mirage.
I should be able to send you the character in another 24 hours or so, and I'll get a proper background written by weekend.

Thats what I love about this place.....mention needing new players and within 24 hours you have them!

Dec 11 2003, 01:46 AM
Grendel, I've sent my (mostly complete) character, her equipment and contacts need finalizing, I'll get them done by tomorrow.
Is there any particular contact you'd like her to have in order to integrate her into the storyline more easily?
grendel
Dec 11 2003, 01:57 AM
Mirage looks good so far. I have no requirements for her contacts, but it would smooth the transition if she had a fixer of some sort who usually contacts her about work.

So role call on who we still have, and what else are we wating for. But don't give any more info than you would tell the group IC.
I have submitted Firmpoint, the human battlemage with a keen fashion sense.

Iso is still in. She likes Electronics.

Blount, man without an archtype, is partially done. His stats, skills, and history are done, just need to finish buying gear, contacts and lifesytles. I plan on sending Grendel a full chartacter sheet today.

Todd, the Otaku, skateboard punk is still in.

"man without archetype" that's great and all, but what do you do? are you awakened or not?, are you a combatant or stealth or some form of backup (like a decker/rigger)? what do you do to help the group?
Note: this is somewhat IC, in that when my character enters, he's probably going to a brief roll call to see what other skills he's working with. I'm doing it now just to fascilitate getting things started, but don't tell me anything you wouldn't necessarily say if your character was asked the above question.

Jim (or known as Ghost to most people) is an austrailan (you can tell that just by the accent) Security Rigger.... he's good at his job, thats all you need to know for now!

I guess Covert Ops is the closest area he falls into. He's got no visible body mods, and if he's awakened, he's not talking about it. The skill set he'll admit to is close combat and infiltration skills. He's tall and muscular, and looks like he's in his early to mid thirties.

I've sent the completed Mirage now, full background to follow at weekend.
Mirage is a pistol toting Former Bodyguard turned Street Sam, she's Good Looking with High Etiquette, and a good reputation.
She's also very perceptive, with loads of sensory cyberware.

Todd (Grey. BTW, I didn't get your PM until after GenCon SoCal. Sorry.)
Pussycat (EMP. I think.)
Mirage (Raiko)
Blount (Smed)
Firmpoint (Yum Donuts)
I have just a few more admin things to take care of, those of you who are joining look for calls from your fixers soon.

How are we going to account for the sudden change of team in the storyline? just interested from a continuity point of view!

Just read the IC.....suddenly I seem to be guy running the team!! hehehe....

As Riggers tend to do. Run with it for now man, Todd is ready to go.

You've possibly heard of Mirage before, she's a street samurai with "Good-Rep(2)".
Since a few of you seem to be using it, I've just downloaded AIM

Just curious, but if I didn't get call, am I not coming? I don't mind waiting if that's better for the story, but if I'm out, I'd like to know.
thanks.

According to Firmpoint's background, Ziegler is his talismoger/fixer.
Yum Donuts
Dec 18 2003, 11:33 PM
hehe whups. I got names screwed up with another character's talismonger, Arabella.
don't mind me, finals week made me retarded.

Just to repost for those new to the game, here is a picture of
Todd.
The only obvious ware he has is a datajack just behind his right ear.

Dec 22 2003, 03:53 PM
If Todd is older than my IC post suggests then I'll go back and edit.

Well I have to confess, I still think of him as a fairly young charecter.... but I would like to point out that Jim would get annoyed if ANYONE belched in his car like Todd did, because that car is his pride and joy!

Do we still have a van?
It did belong to Sedyrk, but he's gone.
Silverspur_2020
Dec 31 2003, 06:16 PM
I have been wondering that... everyone seems to think that Ghost has a van, but he is in a sports car!
Guess its a GM desision!
Grey
Dec 31 2003, 06:20 PM
Oh crap. For some reason I thought Ghost had the van. Ugh...
grendel

At this point in the story it's not really important what kind of vehicle
Ghost is driving.

Here is a roll for either Electronics B/R or Computer B/R. I'm not sure which I'd use to patch a line into the payphone, but I've got the same skill in both.

Here are a pair of Logon rolls, not sure what else I need for now. This should get me into the local host, then the RTG, then the LTG I'm looking for. Keep in mind I have an Access Channel of 6.

Grendel, how did you want to resolve Todd's matrix run? I threw a few rolls at you for now, but don't know how you want to deal with things from this point.
grendel
Jan 9 2004, 01:55 AM
It's up to you, really. You can continue to roll your tests, or we can do things cinematically. Either way works for me.
Grey
Jan 9 2004, 05:07 PM
I prefer a mix. The best way I've seen Deckers done is to roll all the dice out first and then make a big post describing everything that went on.
grendel
Jan 9 2004, 10:27 PM
That works out fine for me. If you ever have a question about what exactly I'm describing, just ask and I'll give you the technical (game) term for it.

Should I just assume we're all gonna meet at Bicson's supply depot and post accordingly? At the rate we're posting now it will take ages otherwise.
Yum Donuts
Jan 11 2004, 04:40 AM
I've done my recon and I'm now just doing whatever it takes to get the group together. but I agree somebody needs to do something if we're gonna get anywhere. so lets say we've all met at the supply depot.
Grey
Jan 11 2004, 06:57 AM
Starting Monday, (this weekend is very busy for me), Grendel and I will be working out my Matrix run via email and than I'll have a nice big post to describe it all to you.

I am happy with Yum's idea if everyone else is... because at this rate it will take us ages to get into the compound, and I am willing to bet that what we want isnt actually there!
Yum Donuts
Jan 11 2004, 05:43 PM
well, we're only getting paid 5k, if the stuff isn't there, I'll be damned if I'm gonna go anywhere else.
Humanitarian causes are great and all, but I prefer well-funded humanitarian causes.
This whole thing would be easier with an elemental, but they aren't even paying enough to make up for the expense in summoning one.
