Actually, Shadow, I had always envisioned Blackjack's car as being red. Maybe Zoe's is a different shade.
Also, with the character that I had sent you, I changed Blackjack's appearance to black hair and brown eyes from blonde hair and blue eyes, but I think I want to change it back.

Good Tuesday peoples.
So far some really excellent posts, I am impressed with the caliber of players we have
Not that I ever had a doubt! I think all we are waiting on is Grendel and Jr. Woodchuck.....
I will give 'em till 4pm ADT to post and then we move on and they can catch up.
This is a good time to remind everyone that monday through friday you should be able to post at least once a day.

Danny's Description
Daniel is slim and wiry, standing 1.81m tall, and weighing in at 75kg. He has a fair complexion, emerald green eyes, and close-cropped, jet black hair trailing to a small, braided ponytail in the back. Daniel tends to speak English with a southern 'twang', and when preoccupied, will occasionally be heard to utter a curse in French. He normally dresses casually, usually in the 'jeans and t-shirt' style, and often wears a black Stetson. His worn leather jacket bears the 'Gibson's Gypsies' logo; a t-bird superimposed over a burning Aztech pyramid. He spots a tattoo of a leaping leopard across his right chest and shoulder.

Ok End Prologue.
Just a few notes. Please get rid of sigs in the IC. I know it's hard to remember that stupid little check box when you are about to post, but you can go back and edit them out. So please when you (you being all of us) get the chance go through and make sure you don't have any sigs in the IC.
I will be posting the begining of part 1 here in a few minutes.
@TKG
Thanks fore responding so timely.

Ok the timed posts are over. No more saying you must post by a certain time. At least until you take flight

Any questions to Zoe can be solved by a phone call.

Blackjack is a 5’ 4” female human with blue eyes and long amber blonde hair with gentle wavy locks in it that comes down past her shoulders. Her skin is a medium pinkish-white. Her measurements are 38C – 26 – 37. She is a definite knockout, except for her cyberarms, which usually turn guys off.

Ok. Blackjack is going to be looking for a map of the island and the surrounding area in a grid 100 x 100 clicks, centered at the middle of the island. When she actually jacks in.
I need some ideas from you guys about what kind of cover story, if any, should be used. This is my first time playing a decker also, so I may be a little slow on the uptake. Bear with me.

Alright, we need to make a gear list. Right now it's just:
Definites:Rapid descent gear
Maybes:Radio Encryption/comm suits
Survival gear
Diving/underwater gear
Ideas, OOC suggestions? Let's collect a list in the OOC so we don't loose bits and pieces among the RP bits
Shadow
Nov 7 2003, 09:49 PM
I think thats a good idea TKG.
Leowulf
Nov 8 2003, 02:06 PM
Definites:
Rapid descent gear
Camo gear (either full suits or jackets)
Radio Encryption/comm suits
Survival gear
Maybes:
Diving/underwater gear
HALO gear or parachutes
TinkerGnome
Nov 8 2003, 04:35 PM
Leowulf, let's go ahead and put regular parachutes under the definites. Low-altitude parachutes is a maybe, but I don't think we need HALO chutes unless we come up with a plan specificly around them.
Warpath doesn't need camo, by the way, unless there's snow on the ground. If we plan to land on the island for more than an instant, we also want sufficient camo netting to cover the chopper. How are mage types for levitation? We might need a stretcher, as well, even if we have levitation.
Leowulf
Nov 9 2003, 04:44 AM
Definites:
Rapid descent gear
Camo gear (either full suits or jackets, except for Warpath)
Radio Encryption/comm suits
Survival gear
Parachutes
Maybes:
Diving/underwater gear
HALO gear instead of parachutes
Hollow Point ammo
Shocklock shotgun ammo
AV rounds (for portable weapons)
Heavy weapons
non-lethal ammo (in case we have to subdue the guy)
Fortune
Nov 9 2003, 05:24 AM
Most of that stuff is just dead weight. It won't see any use whatsoever.
With the exception of comm gear, Danny doesn't require anything.
TinkerGnome
Nov 9 2003, 01:53 PM
I have to say that dead weight or not, most of the stiff we have listed as definite is the type of gear that'll kill a character by its absence (parachutes, survival gear, descent gear).
If AV ammo is available, Warpath'll jump at the chance to get a clip or two.
The most likely threats we're going to face in the first bit are spirits and vehicles. So if we can handle that, I think our regular gear can handle most other types of opposition.
Shadow
Nov 9 2003, 09:56 PM
@ WP AV ammo would not be availible in the time frame you have, more than likely, but hek, you can give it a shot if you want.
Leowulf
Nov 10 2003, 01:01 AM
Definites:Rapid descent gear (Climbing Gear, right?)
Camo gear (either full suits or jackets, except for Warpath)
Radio Encryption/comm suits
Survival gear (Survival Kit?)
Parachutes
Gel rounds/Stun shells/Bola rounds (in case we have to subdue the guy)
Maybes:Diving/underwater gear
HALO gear instead of parachutes
Hollow Point ammo
AV rounds (for portable weapons)
Heavy weapons
Grapple Gun
Stealth Grapple Line
Catalyst Stick
Nav-Dat GPS
I can take a clip or two of gel rounds for Blackjack, which she would actually prefer. I suggested hollow points in case we are possibly going to meet up with some awakened critters during our perilous quest to find the indian guy's son. It wouldn't be in character for Blackjack to take those, unless it was suggested by one more experienced. Upon looking them up, I discovered that Shocklock rounds were not quite what I had thought they were. I was thinking they were EMP shells, which would have been useful against vehicles. Too much Fallout.
I definitely think that some non-lethal ammo would be a good idea, at least for Blackjack. We don't know how the kid is going to react when he sees us; he may run off and hide. We may have to shoot him to make him stop, erego non-lethal rounds.
Maybe I can design some of those EMP shells in another game some time.

Alright, I propose everyone have a minimum of the following:
Comm unit with encryption
Parachute
Survival kit
GPS system of some sort
Floatation gear
Camo gear
Flare grenades of various colors
Those making landfall also need:
Rapid descent gear
Gel and hollowpoint ammo
Survival knife or the equivalent
Also we'll want sufficient camo netting for the copter if we need it (it's cheap and easy to get), a stretcher, and a Savior medkit (or regular medkit, depending on what we can get). I'm still worried about spirits (IC and OOC), but I'll leave any big ones to the mages.

Have on hand:
Binoculars w/ Low light and thermal
Micro Transciever: 5
Ascent/Decent Kit
50m of rope
GPS
Micro Flare Launcher w/ flares
Mage Mask
Pack of plastic restraints
30 days of anti coagulant
Bugout Bag:
Bag
Certified Credstick w/ 2,000¥
500¥ in script
Ares Predator
15 regular rounds
Spare clip w/ 15 Ex-explosive rounds
Spare clip w/ 15 Hollow point rounds
Quick Draw Holster (concealed)
2 smoke grenades
Survival knife
35 meters of duct tape
Handset cell phone
Survival Kit
Medkit w/ extra supplies
Heavy denim jeans
Synth Wool Sweater
2 changes of underware
2 changes of synth wool socks
Towel
Leather gloves w/ wool liners
Mini-Mag light w/ extra bulb, two changes of batteries
6 white glowsticks
Food bag w/ dry cereal, coffee grounds, jerky, ramen noodles, multi vitamins
Camal Pak
Sleeping bag
Thermal blanket
(A good bug out bag is always good to have
)
I'll probably need a parachute and some floatation gear, and I should be covered.

Looks like we all have an idea of what we want to take personally. I'm not sure that we need to take only the exact same items. I'm going to have Blackjack ask if we can stop by the store on the way to pick up some thermal underwear and sweats for herself. It's going to be cold where we are going this time of year. I hope that I camo suit comes with a hat as well. I think it does; I know it comes with shoes.

There are 4 more people who need to post today, and it's gettin kinda late...
Ok so you have your equipment list that you guys want to have, if not for everyone at least for some of you. Someone make a call to Zoe, and let her know how much of each so she can get working on it.
If I didn't make it clear (and I may not have) there is a time limit on this run, when time runs out, it's game over.
Also, I may not have made it clear that the Tilt wing is is sitting at the Tacoma Airport in a hangar and at your disposal. I mention this 'cause you guys were looking for a place to reconvene...

Post what? Theres's not much for Danny to say at this point, especially when almost everything he does say is ignored.
He's pretty much ready to go, which is why he suggested using the storm, and subsequent confusion for cover.
TinkerGnome
Nov 11 2003, 04:12 AM
Didn't mean to ignore Danny, I was half waiting on an official answer as to whether the place had a more private meeting area (the one instance I can find where I should have responded)
What is the likely duration of the storm? What is the mission window, again?
Warpath'll make the Zoe call with the laundry list of stuff if no one else wants to, as soon as everyone pipes in with what they want (or opts out). As of now, I'm not sure how many of each item we need, so if you want a "enough of x for everyone" type call, that'd work best, probably. If that's okay, I'll have him make the call tomorrow

It's cool, no worries.
As to gear, I don't see Danny needing much more than comm gear (w/ encryption). He sure as hell isn't doing any parachuting or deep sea diving any time soon. Spells and Spirits should cover any such situations, should they arise.

Blackjack is kind of dumb when it comes to planning ops like this, so it's in character for her to ignore Danny. I could have put in my post that she looked at Danny and decided to let someone else address his suggestion or something...
but I didn't.
I know how you feel though because this is like the third time that Blackjack has suggested leaving, and no one is f***ing listening! I'm thinking to myself 'COME ON!!! CAN WE
