Grendel will bring the tilt-wing around in a counter-clockwise orbit of the island, about three hundred meters out at thirty meters in altitude. I'll extend the southbound leg another two hundred meters before making a hard right turn into the wind. At about two hundred meters out from the island, I'll come off speed and transition the nacelles from horizontal to vertical. The goal is to come into a steady hover at thirty meters over the southeastern portion of the island and deploy the ground team.
Piloting skill rolls (rotorcraft skill of 4 plus 4 control pool dice):
5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 2, 1, 1
8, 8, 5, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
If I need to spend a karma on the first one, I will.

In 3 hrs or so, i'll be able to do roll's for sneaking, and perception checks. I dont have access to my character sheet at work. If you have my character feel free to make the rolls for me.

Roger that, and a will do.
By the way, the group set up code names in the begining, you were ONE.

We'll just assume that Danny attuned the Ward to Delacroix's aura at some point, shall we?

Just in case anyone forgot, here are the code names one more time:
One - Delacroix
Two - Jessie
Three - Danny
Four - Warpath
Five - Sedryk
Six - Blackjack
Base - Grendel

3 successes at target 6.
Though, I don't understand why Jessie is thrown around, she had strapped herself in, so it shouldn't be a problem for her.

Jessie takes her seat on the bench, just behind Grendel. Not feeling all that steady, she buckles herself into the four point harness... |

I think Shadow meant to say Blackjack instead of Jessie, as Blackjack and Warpath are the ones that stated they were standing.

@ Fortune, does your spirit stay around after it performs it's function?
IE, does it guard you all day, or just once. Or until the sun goes down?
Fortune
Dec 3 2003, 11:24 PM
I would say that the service is used if it actually has to defend the protected item or person (in this case the plane) from adversity...ie. use the Guard Power.
As to how long it stays, it still owes two more services, so will stay around until those are used, or the sun rises, whichever comes first.
I assume that Danny would know if the Spirit had to use its power (and therefore fulfill its service). If this is so, then let me know and he'll take the appropriate action.
Grey
Dec 3 2003, 11:32 PM
IIRC, if a spirit is put on Guard, then it does that until the sun comes up / goes down. If a hundred things attack in that time, it is still using one service.
Fortune
Dec 3 2003, 11:34 PM
That works for me!
I was only going to have Danny order it to continue doing the same thing anyway.

In reguards to my post about landing on the beach...
Isn't there one side of the island that had a beach on it? Here is a quote from the second post Shadow made for setting up the story:
QUOTE |
...He was young and strong and able to plow through the water as it crashed toward the shore. He reached the buoy and held on tight. Using his feet to kick and maneuver the buoy to the shore. It didn't take long to get there. Jason staggered up the rocky beach, soaked and exhausted he hauled the buoy up.
He knew he didn't have much time before hypothermia kicked in, 15 minutes or so. He opened the container and found the fire kit. He then looked around for some dry wood, the rain had soaked most of the wood on the beach so he struggled to the sparse tree line... |
If I'm reading that wrong, I'm sorry, but I thought there was some type of beach on the island.

Much obliged.
In that case, Danny doesn't need to take any action in order for the Spirit to continue its service.

I actually think both of us going Astral would be counter-productive. With Danny still in the plane, at least it still has magical protection of some kind.
Besides, finding your body again in a moving vehicle is a bitch.

The "beach" as I put it isn't a sand, so cal beach. It is a Pacific north west beach. Rocky pebbles line the floor, and due to the rain the trees grow right up to the high tide mark. On top of that, deadwood trees are littered everywhere, which would make a landing near impossible.
If I didn't describe that well enough for everyone I apologize.
Fortune
Dec 4 2003, 12:32 AM
Danny should still have 2 Watchers (plus the Storm Spirit) guarding Astral space around the plane.

I'm sorry for not "getting it". I'm a SoCal boy, so all I know are sandy beaches.
Its all clear now though, but I'll go ahead and leave my IC post about it as is, cause for all Jessie knows, it
may have been possible for Grendel to land. <shrug> No big deal.
P.S.: Shadow, I'm still waiting on a reply to me going over the recording of the combat scene.

A few notes:1) As of right now Shadow I will need you to take care of all dice rolls for Delacroix. His character sheet has been misplaced. I think I know where it may be (tucked in a book at work) but I'll find out tomorrow.
2) Fortune's watcher, I assume I can have it relay a message back to Fortune? I really dont feel like looking thru my books for the answer on this one right now, not before bed time
3) Shadow did you want me to post immediately in reaction to Fortune's watcher spirit, or did you have more to describe?
Fortune
Dec 4 2003, 04:07 AM
I sent two of them to you. My intent in my orders to them was that you could use at least one of them as a messenger.

Bad news. Delacroix character sheet is MIA. I'll be looking around for it, but I have no clue where it is right now. It is one of the few character sheets then never made it to my online "library" of characters. Go figure!
Shadow if you could send me the Delacroix you have, that would be great!

Sorry that I've missed posting a couple of days this week, everyone. College finals are next week, so term projects and tests were going on this week and last week as we all try to wrap up the semester. I'm sorry to have to do this but I must withdrawl from the game. Shadow, you are a talented GM and I wish you success in your endevors. My reasons for my departure are varried, going to 14 hour shifts, plus further training on my days off, and most importantly, I'm getting married in a few months and you never truely apprecieate how much there is involved in a wedding until you try and have one.
Best of luck with the run, please try and bring Sedryk home safe to his daughter.

No problem. I just figured I'd post my immediate actions just in case things happen when I am not online.
Edit: Just to be sure, I'll post Danny's Biotech rolls. I assume that this would be considered Diagnostics as opposed to First Aid (in regards to specializations). If not, then I get 2 more dice! Also, as far as Complimentary skills are concerned, Danny has the Medkit, plus Medicine Knowledge at 5 (+1). I'm not sure how you handle things like Complimentary skills though, so I'll just use the Medkit for now.

As a generall rule I do not like to play people characters for them. I did for TKG, but he specifically requested that I do so because he would be out of town. So if at all possible I will give people the time to get here.
You get a limited oppurtunity to play your character on these boards, I hate to take that away from people.

I will make a concentrated effort to check this thread more often.
