Very cool!
The first angry looking windling I've ever seen.
The shading is fine to me.
Have to agree that more gear would be good to give him more detail *sighs*. I'll put up an expanded gear list next week.

Alright, Alex's hours are nuts right now, and Plan B's still having issues, so if this game is going to roll any further, Grinder, it's goign to need your posting for a little while .Callidus, sorry for the wait.
Currently it's all RL issues interfering with the game. Damn RL.

ok Grinder, Alex, I'll be running Morgan for a bit as an NPC, with a little bit of guidance from Alysha to make sure I do the character correctly. So for now, you two will be moving things along.
Callidus should be meeting up with you soon, and getting a bit of training from Morgan will take some of his time, then he'll be joining you, so it'll work splitting the group a bit.

I didn't have much time in the last week (partly because the work on a new ED book started, partly because I had a lot of stuff to read for university), but it should get better soon.

Without another word, the small gargoyle holds her hand out above the ground, and a small stone about the size of a human head rises from beneath the soil. The stone's shaped begins to move and melt , as if it's outersurface were a swirling liquid. It begins to taper, most of the ston'es bulk going to it's base, and thinning out, looking like a small tree. The stone continues to reshape it's self, eventually shaping it's self into a rather good likeness of Ralo.
The gargoyle puts it's hands on it's hips, floating in the air without flapping it's wings.
Satisfied? |
Help me out - to me this is pure magic and no Artisan test. Or at least I can't think of an Artisan skill that allows to do that.

hehe, classic comment from Bedlam *8->
@Grinder: I've always thought that Elementalists should be able to do this sort of thing due to they connection to the elements.... although that's totally not covered in canon ofc and don't know whether Fistandantilus sees it that way.... of course
Rayo could probably see it anyway he fancies
Grinder
Jun 18 2007, 02:32 PM
Don't get me wrong, I like the way the small sucker shows his magical abilities, but Artisan tests don't rely on magic in canon.
Callidus
Jun 18 2007, 02:50 PM
Very true *8-> as for the Elementalist thing, I kinda saw it as a non(ish) magical control of the elements.... I've had an elementalist previous have fire sculpting as an artisan skill.... although again definately not covered in canon, but got the dm's agreement first.... was a cool artisan skill though *8->

As far as it goes, there is the ability to control the shapes of elemtents through spells. The kind of thing she's doing is much more detailed and artistic. I suppose I should have gone in to more detail describing the little statue, but TBH, it was late/early. Second, I just didn't see a spirit doing any kind of artisan skill that wouldn't directly or indirectly use magic. Didn't make any sense to me. Why would a spirit use tools , ya know?
The way the test is done OCC is using a stone shape spell in lieu of tools, and using a scultping skill to design and shape it. That answer your question Mr Grinder Sir?

I can imagine a tiny flying creature getting upset by Morganas secrets and a strange gargoyle who enters his mind. Priceless.
But now it's time to get rid of some cadavermen. 50 for Ralo, 50 for Morgana. That's fair.

Sorry for the length between my posts at times. I'm giving Plan B some time to post incase she's up for it, then posting if not.

Grinder, was double checking on your feelings on the interaction with Ralo and Bedlam. I can defeintely spot some of Ralo's frustrations coming through, which makes sense, given the little "episode" inside the Citadel. Wanted to make sure you weren't as equally frustrated. Will put up a reply later IC.

I, as a player, am not frustrated. I like the idea that a tiny litle windling gets upsets and annoyed by all the strange things that happen around him - the many secrets of Morgana, being nearly used as a chewing toy and now telephatic communication with a spirit that gave him a bad name. The character is annoyed, not the player.
And it would be like 2 or 3 cadavermen for Alex. Someone has to take care of Mich.

Apologies to all for the hibernation of this thread. I was waiting, and prodding, and so on to have Alysha post, but I'll take the character for now and we'll proceed as normally. Part of the issue was that the Hounds could be controlled by anyone, and I didn't want them in the hands of an NPC. oh well.

ok, so we're all on the same page, since Plan B isn't going to be running morganna, soon enough, I'm going to slide her char frmo the game. i'm thinking of allowing 2 threads to be tiedto the Head so that someone else can control the hounds instead of just the one I had plannedo n, and giving her some down time training Holder. fistandantilus4.0
Jul 21 2007, 03:22 AM
Well in the case likely to come up at the moment, weaving a thread to an item:
Your thread Weaving Talent (aka Smithweaving for a weaponsmith) is gained at 4th circle. You roll your talent Rank plus perception against the object's spell resistance, assuming you a) have the required key knowledge if applicable, and b) have the necessary Legend Points to bind the threads. Similar to bonding a foci.

Possible, yes. I have to re-read some parts of the storyline, I think.
Another idea: what about a time leap? Callidus finishing his training and we come back to do what we have to do (that is, finding the evil guy who cursed Alex village iirc). In the meantime Ralo could finish the original thing he was hired for.
fistandantilus4.0
Jul 22 2007, 11:32 PM
hehe, well, about that original thing....
"yessir, well, you see, we found out that your client village was actually consumed by the undead, and the vilalgers them selves made into walking corpses.
We took some time to kill the
attacking undead, but as per our contract to protect the villagers, we coudln't really fight them. So, we've got about 30 cadavers jsut out side of Travar awaiting your inspection. If oyu could just hand me the rest of our coin...
Oh, Morgana? Well she's ... cleaning up after. She said for me to bring her share along."
Im' having trouble getting a hold of Caliidus. I've sent him a few PMs with no response. Try another one in a bit. I dont' mind hand waving his training time and getting the three of you together.
If
he can't show as well, well, without the weirdos from the future, it can't really be Back to the Future, now can it? I'll see if I can get a hold of him again and what we can figure out.

Deleting posts is not a good idea. Would be better if Callidus' char isn't able to learn the way of the Wizard quick enough and decides to come with Morgana and the rest of us, 'til he find a teacher with more time or so. You know.
