If there are going to be more people joining the Merc group then there's one thing I'd suggest: Buy your own Tilt-wing based on the Ares TR-55 T model with added Fuel drop pods, armor, and maybe a pop-up microturret and a rear-facing entry point. Don't forget the ED-1 system and either photovoltic chamelion paint or Radar Absorbant Materials! Strip-out the bucket seats and replace them with folding bench seats too. Also fit it with Rigger adaptation and remote control interfaces. Does that not count as one thing to suggest? *shrugs*
We aren't allowed another rigger but if we are going to have a huge team then we will need to be able to transport the team together. Truly the TR-55 T is the only VTOL aircraft that you're going to get that can keep-up with (and hit the same range as) another TR-55 T.
[edit]I think he's wanting electronics for the Electronics(Electronic Warfare) specialisation... Just a thought.
Also it'd be nice to know if we had two gunners who can control the turret and the door mount while our rigger is actually flying the vehicle(s).
I've heard of, played in, and even run games of around 9 players in the past but 11 strikes me as slightly OTT. If Sphynx can handle it though then kudos to him.[/edit]
[edit=2]Or is that 12 players?[/edit]
Callidus
Dec 12 2003, 09:38 AM
I can handle the pindle mount gun and I'll see if I can fit buying a second Tilt wing in if we need one.... well if someone tells me the cost and either I get my books back (hopefully) or Sphynx tells me how much cash I'm over/under..... oh a thanks again for accept number crunching Sphynx... yer a life saver *8-> Also any other changes you need me to make after the last email?

Dec 12 2003, 02:06 PM
A second tilt-wing would cost a fair bit; I think 415k or so with all the mods. Ask Utahraptor but it may be best to stich a better pilot (rating 3) on this one if it's not going to be primarily piloted by a rigger.

Dec 12 2003, 05:14 PM
I like the idea of another tilt rotor with a high pilot rating, but I don't think we can burden the team's resourses like that.
Look, I may be able to carry more then ten. The bench seats can carry 200kg each. I have two buckets able to carry a hundred each. This means as long as the total sum of men and gear does not wiegh more than a 1000 Kg, we will be fine. However, I sincerly doubt that will be the case, unless we have
a lot of dwarves.
Pardon my seemed exasperation in this subject; just getting in character.

EDIT: Now, computers might actually be usful. I would need someone with Programming skill to create false images for Miji tests. And I don't really need electroincs skills, just some who can run the radio and battac master, and provide fire-support from the door mount. An improvised Crew Chief/Co-pliot if you will.

Actually the version we have has been converted from a commercial passenger aircraft. As such I wouldn't be surprised if there were windows running the full length of the vehicle.
I'd also like to point-out that awakened people aren't as valuable as all of the cybered mundanes. You'd need to find the right audience for awakened people, like Blood Ma... Um. Yes, there's far more money in the cyberware I'd reckon.

It's manily a transport converted for military use. Most of the windows would be gone, sorry.

Try to imagine the interior of a blackhawk, and you get the interior of our craft. There's just a door-gun aft and a drone rack above. The communication and BattleTac system will most likely be up front with the cockpit, so I'm still looking for a crew cheif....

I mainly just need someone who can act the crew chief role. Famialr with Rotor Aircraft, maybe have some B/R in electronics as well as the skill itself...
Not a skill set, persay, just a guy to help out with the equip.
You can all take turns.
P.S. Any of you have an HVAR? and if your firing off a pintle/ring/door mount, do you use approratie skill or Gunnery.

We need someone with biotech and face skills, I believe. Expertise in electronics and/or demolitions is also lacking, since I think anyone in the group who has the skills isn't a specialist in them. We've already got enough people to shoot and sling the mojo. Anyone who has the aforementioned skills gets dibs on not being duct taped outside Utah's helo.

On the door mount, I'm not certain... still no books

but I believe you use the appropriate skill rather than gunnery.... so if it's a heavy weapon or AR I can fire it pretty well *8-> although if it's an LMG or higher it might just be getting dismounted when we get off..... *8->

I spoke to shadow on AIM. Just in case other people want to know: there's an optional rule in the SRComp that lets you spend spell points as karma foor any magic-related karma expenditures. Sphynx's BP system also seems to have it hard-coded into the spell points section.

Ok so it looks like I have a pretty kick but Elf going here. Her primary specialty is going to be demolitions. She can act as a face, and does know how to do first aid. But first and foremost she likes to blow stuff up.

First of all,, are we even allowed expolsives? Second, anyone know a good decker? I guarantee we will need one.

I don't recall Sphynx ever saying explosives were banned. Several other (finalized?) characters already have demolitions, so I doubt it.
I have a fairly reliable decker contact, though I don't know how useful he'll be for the first campaign since he's based in Seattle.

OK: I don't know if everyone in the list of 14 has their character sorted yet but there is one useful role that would hopefully be allowed and useful:
Decker/Copilot:
Requirements: Good tech skills (High Computer/Electronics, B/R skills for them at lower levels), Gunnery (for the pop-up turret/pintle mount), and Rotorcraft (for when rigger is busy), applicants should have previous combat experience. Applicants should be drek-hot, own their own Cyberdeck, and be capible of decking through a radio link.
[edit]A high small unit tactics (battletac systems) skill would be useful too[/edit]

Ok gentle dudes.

Time's up, characters are set and in motion. What I want now is for everyone to RESEND their finalized character sheet WITHOUT a background this time. Preferably the html [print] of your SR3, but if you lack that, a simple .txt file is fine. Send me only what you want to see on your character sheet. If you want stuff that NSRCG doesn't have (and you don't know how to add it) I suggest a .txt file. If it's not on that sheet, you won't have it. Over the next 2 weeks I will build the sheets on my telnet site located
here. Please use this as your Subject Line "My Character Sheet"
Secondly, please email me also a description of your character. Exactly what you would describe yourself as if you were sitting an a group and asked to describe your character to the rest of the group. Please use this as your Subject Line "My Character Description"
Thirdly, I will not be online hardly at all next week (Xmas spirit and all that jazz) so please be patient next week if I don't immediately reply to your emails.

Anyhows, if you've asked to play and not turned in a character sheet yet, you have exactly 8 hours from the moment this post is posted to turn it in and have me reply with an acceptance.
