@RedJack: I think you can fast forward to wherever we're going to discuss tactics, I'm just not sure where that is. Coyote Ugly type bar (we need to name this) or Downtown? Unless Sokaf objects, assume we're staying in Puyallup.
If we are going to the bar where Jingles works, Sam has Influence Group 1 and Charisma 7 for DP of 8. Here is a roll to get her to give us a private area with no surveillance and no disturbances. Well, after Sam dances on the bar once or twice anyhow. I'm sure Jingles will make her do that at least once. Let me know if you want a Gymnastics roll for the dancing. You can put that in the fluff of the upcoming scene.

It's a character liking to be in Downtown, because that's where he has his places. Pullayup is still alien, and he's a little unsettled. That's all. Otherwise, he'll still be up for staying in Pullayup, but the reason he was willing to buy was it was in his side of town.

I'd prefer to gloss over the planning conversation into one sum up post by either one of you two. I guess since this was Sam's hang out we can let her wrap it up with our final decision. I think it's just easier to post ooc what we have to consider, plan, and legwork for.
First off, any hacker contacts? If not, I suppose we could tele Kilroy to look into Zephyr Security? Uniforms, vehicles, pick up protocol? response teams? security sop etc. maybe id tags if we want to go that way?
First mission is the most important one, and the one we have the greatest chances of success. I would rather delay the pickup team and pick up the package ourselves using their credentials and an illusion rather than try to assault the vehicle somewhere in transit.

Sam has Kilroy an an increased level: 3L/3C. She can call him if Spades does not have a hacker contact. I'll wait until tomorrow to see if Soykaf chimes in. If not, Sam will call Kilroy.
@ RedJack: what sort of rolls do you need me to make for Sam to get the skinny on Zephyr Security from Kilroy? Etiquette? Negotiation? Seduction? She has the same number of dice in all three, just wondering for Flavor Text purposes. I'n not sure exactly how they interact yet, but Sam is usually nice to people she likes, and obviously some people think she gets a little too nice. (Ramses... ahem!!)

Mar 30 2008, 09:13 PM
Well it kind of depends. We're only going to have 20 minutes notice, so I was thinking we hit the car after it picks up the package. Maybe borrow, rent or steal a tow truck? We can pretend we're fixing a flat on Spades car. Then whammo! Spirit Accident pops all 4 tires on the courier, and they skid to a halt. We'll need a signal jammer so they can't call for help. Then we offer them a tow, knock 'em out, tow the vehicle away, and they wake up in the middle of barrens with no package. How does that sound? Do you think Ramses can dress grungy, like a mechanic, and talk like Scotty? "... I just fixed the bloody thing..." LOL!
Gear we'd need that we don't have... tranq patches, a signal jammer, and a tow truck. Sam has lots of gel rounds for a Predator, and she has an Arms Dealer contact if we need stick'n'shocks.

Lets get on with the real deal here though. First courier will most likely be a biker. That's means high mobility, but vulnerable. Lets pick a strategy how to stop him and move on. Nothing too fancy here, keep it simple. I say we tail the guy after the pick up and use an air spirit to cause a flat tire. We disguise someone as lonestar who pulls over to him and whammo - he gets hit by a stunner. We grab the package and disappear, literally.
What do say?

That will work even if it's a car with 2 couriers. just a little more hairy. I'll need to call "Queen's Knight", my arms dealer contact to get a bunch of stick and shocks. I think they'll work better than the gel rounds I have. Anybody need any? If so tell me for what type of gun.
I'll need to bring Sam's bike, in case it is a bike courier and he gets away from the accident. It's a Suzuki Mirage so it should be able to keep up with anything with wheels. We better check to make sure it's not Knight Errant country, too.
We should know the route 20 minutes ahead of time so we shouldn't have to tail him. However Johnson's information being as accurate as it is, maybe we better tail him anyhow. I'd rather not as we may tip our hand too early, but if Johson's info is bad we'd be hosed.
Maybe Spades and Sam take turns tailing him until we get to the accident area, and Ramses' spirit calls down thunder on his butt. Maybe call a spirit that can cast spells and give him Stun Bolt?
Gray
Apr 8 2008, 04:54 PM
Okay, so assuming we're going to just put the bag on the first courier(s), what else do we need to do? I'll do a post when I get home (can't access Invisible Castle from work) to call my Arms Dealer to get some Stick N Shocks. Do we need a tow truck or are we going the fake Lone Star route? I think we need Sam's bike in case its a bike courier and he escapes the accident. We could put that in the back of the tow truck, or disguise it as highway patrol (hopefully Ramses has a good spell for that). Should we tail the courier or assume he's going where Johnson says he's going to go? The spirit could probably tail him and give him a flat.

My idea would be to have someone drive me in a car, the spirit and car trail the bike. The spirit causes a accident to happen (tire blowout) and as he/she is on the ground I hit him with a stunner. I hit Spades with invis and he goes up and grabs the package and takes off.
I need to summon a force 4 air spirit then.

Well whoever is the best driver should driver the car, in case there is backup or things go FUBAR. I assume that that's Spades, as Sam has reaction 3 and Pilot Groundcraft (Bike) 2(+2). Sam has Infiltration 1 but not Shadowing. Sam could drive the car, but she's prolly better at snatch and grab.
Sam's got Athletics Group 3 and Agility 6, and Dodge (ranged) 4(+2), so if she's not driving I think she should be the invisible girl. Ramses has the stunner covered, so the stick and shocks are just insurance.

@RedJack: Sam needs to do two things in game but not necessarily IC before we jump ahead. One is go for a ride with Scrimp, which I assume can happen safely off camera on Sunday. The second is purchase 30 rounds (2 clips worth) of Stick'n'Shock for her Predator. She has a fake carry license, so can she buy them at the store, or will she need to call Queen's Knight to get them on the black market?
She also has classes at the University of Washington under her real SIN on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm (she has all of her classes on Tuesday and Thursday, 12 credits this semester), but if the Run goes down during the same time, she'll just have to be sick.

So the main reason to go through a fixer for stuff like ammo is traceability. Just like everything commercial explosive has a signature which allows it to be traced back to the supplier, all ammo is serialized. Each stick-n-shock dart can be traced back to the sale.... or the theft of the ammo... or the fact that its supposed to be in a warehouse in Jersey... You get the idea.

@ Redjack: Okay so I will post a roll for talking to "Queen's Knight" Rudolpho when I get home tonight and a brief IC post of the phone call, or is that something Kilroy could handle better since it is fairly standard?
Sam could troll the black market herself, but I don't know if she has enough dice to locate the ammo in time for the first run. IShe'd have an interval of 12 hours since the base price is only 80 nuyen, but she needs 5 successes on the extended test. I see that taking at least 24 hours unless I use Edge (Charisma: 7, Influence Group: 1). For example if she just bought successes it would take 36 hours or 9:15 AM Monday.
Queen's Knight may have a case of Stick'n'Shock in the basement, or know somebody who does. Sam might need to agree to play him a game of chess, but he's usually well stocked. And Kilroy, well... he's Kilroy.

Given Sam's experience with Kilroy, he is the epitome of a fixer. He makes connections and arrangements rarely getting directly involved. You need something? He will either put you in touch with someone or broker as the middle-man and contract the delivery to another third-party. His strength isn't being the end-all be all... Its being the middle-man.

Most likely candidates among people Sam knows:
Arms Dealer (L:2 C:2) - Roger "Queen's Knight/Knight" Rudolpho - he's probably a vendor at the crime mall, or at least buys weapons from some of them
Bartender (L:2 C:2) - Jingles - bartenders know lots of amazing things

To prepare for tomorrow's run I need to summon and bind an air spirit. I'm thinking force 4 with the ability Accident.
Summoning 4 + magic 5 = 9dp
4 hitsSpirit oppossed force 4 = 4 dp
2 hits2 Services, Drain 4
Charisma 5 + Willpower 6 = 11 dp
3 hitsDamage taken 1 box of stun, resting one hour before the binding to negate.
Binding test: Binding 5 + magic 5 = 10 dp
2 hitsSpirit resistance test: Force 4 (x2) = 8 dp
3 hitsSpirit not bound, drain damage 6
Drain resistance test: Charisma 5 + Will 6 = 11 dp
3 hitsDamage taken 3 boxes of stun.
Sleep off the effects and let the timer run out on the air spirit. 2,000 yen of binding materials wasted.
The next morning bright and early I Attempt to summon another spirit, force 4 with added accident power.
Summoning 4 + magic 5 = 9dp
3 hitsspirit opposed: power 4= 4dp
1 hit2 services, 2 boxes of drain which I will buy off.
