Ok... here is the driving test
7d6.hits(5) --> [3,3,5,4,1,6,3] = (2) I forgot to add Sam's 2 extra Reaction dice for Improved Refelexes 2... let me know if she needs them.
Does Sam get any kind of a bonus for the body test for having covered up all exposed skin (See my next to last IC post)?
Assuming not, only got one success on the first roll:
6d6.hits(5) --> [1,2,4,1,1,5] = (1) Glitch
Spending Edge to reroll failures:
Big Fat Zero no Glitch
All that and Sam's still acid roasted since I'm not wasting her other Edge point on acid rain. She can ditch her bike and ride in the car. Need to get Chem protection on her lined coat.

@Red
I think we can assume from now on that my character knows the environment better than I personally do. If my actions (like standing in the rain for a month) have negative consequences I would appreciate you telling me so Before they actually happen. I've been pretty patient waiting for this run to start, hitting us with the acid rain at this point is just a little punitive don't you think?
Body 3 + half impact 3 + chem resist on longcoat 6 = 12 (12d6.hits(5)=4)2nd body test (12d5.hits(5)=3)armor spell: Force 3 casting thru sustaining focus and using a fetish
5 magic + 5 spellcasting (10d6.hits(5)=3)Drain 4 : Wil 5 + cha 6 + fetish 2 = 13dp
Drain resist (13d6.hits(5)=3) 1 Box of stun

My attempt was not to be putative, but rather set the scene and tell a story with small, medium and large details along the way as I've done in my other games. My apologies if you took it as some type of petty or punitive action.
Since this is our first game together, I'll share a little more. The effects of the weather, the traffic and other conditions will alter the plans and actions of the NPC's as well. All factors will need to be considered. I try to run a dystopian theme, staying one step ahead of the rent, street-level type of game. Challenging, sometimes a little frustrating, requiring tactics and strategy, but ultimately rewarding.
I hope this team reaches all of that. My intent is not to frustrate you to where it becomes un-fun, only to set the scene and add challenges. Another note, I award karma based upon mini-goals, not just the run itself. So each challenge has potential for rewards.
I hope I have addressed your concerns. Please continue to provide feedback and I will work to keep a run that we all enjoy.

I love the details and the immersion into the shadowrun universe with the environment you describe, its one of the reasons why I like your gamestyle so much. My point was simply that I am not a prime runner who has to negotiate all of the hazards my character does on an everyday scale. My character has more common sense than to expose himself to acid rain for such durations. If I ever do such a thing in the future please give me a heads up, I haven't the veteran experience you have in this universe.

Valuable lessons learned for this player. The re-worked Sam character sheet I'm bringing to Gen Con will have Chemical (and probably fire) protection on her longcoat. And at least one more point of Edge

I think Dragon Con is in Atlanta, GA, if I'm not mistaken. Dirtz and I are Yankees from Pennsylvania. It's over 900 miles to Atlanta. Gen Con is about 600 miles, but we started flying to the convention last year. We met Redjack there last year, too.
The closest big Con to us is Origins (we went there the year is was combined with Gen Con), but I wasn't that impressed.
If somehow you make it to Gen Con instead, we had a friend have to bail on us, and I got extra Shadowrun event tickets: both rounds of the tournament too.

Never enough money for anything, let alone another Con, but I may consider it next time around when I win the lottery or gain an inheritance from some long distant uncle who met me once... Hahaha.

After the guy picks up the package we're looking for someplace convenient to make his car break down. I'll have to leave that decision to your best judgement as I do not know what the streets look like. Since we don't know where he is headed we really can't be too picky here, the street needs enough room for a break down lane or else we can't maneuver around it. I was thinking hi-way with an off ramp nearby, but again we don't know if he's headed to one.
I'm ok with you warping us to a suitable ambush spot, we make the decision to "go" or "no go", and then we step it up from there.

Ok. Back from the con, though still haven't found my voice. Dirtz, Gray.. Did one of you guys accidentally take it?

Had a great time and several great runs. The troll with the Vindicator will be sung of in legends for years to come. Also had some great conversations.
I'd like to make two OOC changes to this game:
(1) If you are feeling frustrated with the plot line let me know. In fact, just use the phrase 'throw me a bone' to let me know that you're not just challenged and asking questions, you are frustrated.
(2) I'd like to get back to a post rate of at least 1/week. Just to let me know you're here and tracking if nothing else. I see too many "XXXX waits and watches" and I will realize you're with me and I need to step it up.
Cool?
Ok - I have a hacker. Gonna make sure she's still on tap and gonna be able to keep up the posts then I may drop her in right in the middle of the scene.

I will post up IC before tomorrow morning.

I'm here and still tracking. it was fun to play Sam in B.O.H.I.C.A. Even if she did take a massive wound, she did make the ambushing squad waste all of their Team Karma on little old her, and she put two bullets in the mage before she passed out. I'm still laughing about the second half of that run. Sorry to disappoint you, I know you wanted to kill somebody. But I don't think the official fluff writers could even have come up with a funnier way that could have ended.

Ramses studies the new ARO on the pathing of the courier and tries to spot an easy ambush spot. Noting things like final destination, gang territory, security ratings etc.

The next pick up is a mere six blocks past the team's current location, so that leaves you in an "A" zone and probably not crossing gang turf.

Given that the street in a primary street through a commercial district, I'm gonna say no. At least not without moving one up. However, there is still a fine mist (-1 visibility) and there are a number of cars parallel parked along the street. Foot traffic is light, though people are going about their business so there are a few. Average 1 person per four meters, some in pairs, etc.

Nothing like a trial by fire

Next item of note, there may be wired cameras and there may be cameras slaved to a node. To access those slaves you most first 0wn the node. In an "A" rated neighborhood, other methods should be considered.

1st step - checking out that node and whether this new asset will somehow make things easier.
2nd step - figure out camera locations, unless it means breaking into the system in the same way, so I could as well just disable them.
What rolls do you need from me?

Ok, to set the precedence as a helpful GM, rather than a killer GM I'll give a number of tips:
1) Since you cannot control all the nodes you will be in contact with, you should take a few more precautions:
- a) Cover or remove license plates from both vehicles. This will, of course, cause a chance to be pulled over, but if you miss any camera (you probably will in rating "A"+) it will foil visual tracking.
- b) Disconnect from the matrix, change coms and vehicles to stealth mode. Again, chance of attracting unwanted police attention in an "A"+ neighborhood, but you are already committing a crime. Of course, one team member will have to stay connected in order to be connected to the team hacker.
- c) Spoof the Access ID of anyone connected to the matrix. Kinda like setting a fake call-back number. Stealth is not 100% protection. (For Gray and Dirtz: Sunday morning the 1st security team was in stealth mode, but your hacker found them anyway)
- d) Use PAN for all communications during the run. Lower the rating to limit the range.
So... I leave your hacker to sort that out and decide what tasks she wants to perform and in what order. Not trying to hang you out here Thanee, so if you are still confused let me know.
Remember, prolonged IC conversations move the clock forward as well. (Trying to get the flavor of a tactical situation)
Also, I am on all IM networks. If you want to hook up to ask several questions, send me a PM with you user ID and what network you are on (YIM, MSN, AOL/ICQ)
I also need a Street Knowledge check from Spades to apply the GPS route (account for traffic patterns, construction, out of date info, etc)
