Arcana + Logic or Assensing + Intuition, the rolls will provide different sets of information so tossing out both.

Assensing will be your general "go-to" what is this thing for Awakened and astral stuff. Arcana goes into what's the purpose of this thing, how was it created, etc. (Think about the difference between saying it's a knife vs it's an athame.)

Hey All!

Our current karma total earned in this thread is 111 (thanks BishopMcQ for getting me the number). So I think next is selling items and keeping what we need from the theft. Redjack can you throw out a post from Papa (resident tech genius) on what's being kept so Siren can see about selling the rest?

How did we want to handle the legwork to track down the other team? BishopMcQ I have noticed in threads (sadly mine included too) that this phase tends to bog down or
derail a thread so any suggestions on a format to handle the legwork but still keep the game going? I am completely trying to use you as a test subject here.

So I'd like to do the legwork as a three week window. On September 24th, we start the next piece. If the team wraps up legwork faster than that, we can go sooner.

How we'll do it is any of the players can toss out pieces of information that they are looking for, questions etc. Week one will be the primary legwork round, with week two handling secondary questions that come from the information.

People can choose to roll, which for Data Searches can be a lot of rolling, or I will take an average number of hits based on your pool.

@BishopMcQ: How do you handle Edge refreshing? (Not that I want to use any right now, but I had to use one point of Edge for the healing spell.)


I also thought about spending some more Karma (still got 9 left right now), to specialize my Summoning skill (Spirits of Man), and learn Binding 1, likewise specialized. That's 8 Karma and would leave me with 1. Dalma could probably show Siren a bit about how that Binding stuff is done during some downtime.

And then I will not learn anything else for a looong time, most likely, saving up to raise Magic (well, maybe a point of Edge and/or another Sustaining Focus might get into the way).

About that other team... don't recall any specific plans on how to engage them right now, so maybe this has been around already, but how about we try to hire them?

Then we meet up with them, and so we can set a trap or whatever comes to mind that way. Obviously, Siren would prefer any options, that are not lethal.

If we find out something about their regular hangouts, Siren could visit some of those places in disguise and take a look around. Maybe even get an astral look at the other runners.

Other than that, good old legwork (with Etiquette) could also help (though without Street Cred). Find someone who might know something, and so on.

Thanee--Edge refreshes by major scene change, once selling off the HSE stuff is done, we'll move to the "Whack-a-Team" scene. Edge will refresh again for the "Lake of Bitter Tirs" (presuming the team is still planning on making a run at Crater Lake before the jungle). Karma spends look fine.

Hamagen--Mark off two more days for the selling and getting electronics phase.

BishopMcQ I like the idea of breaking the legwork down into weeks and then pushing forward - thanks to being open to trying a system of some sort.

As to the other runners - I would like to know their handles and anything about their skill set or gear - you know things like "Oh that's John Wayne but you might as well call him Grenade Troll since he loves to blow things up with burst fire capable grenade launchers!" I like the idea of setting up an ambush under the "hiring the team" scenario as long as we can make sure we get the whole team to show up for it. As I stated before I don't have much in the way to offer in contacts for this kind of thing though I am going to try.

Gear looks fine but Ollie has a sim module already so throw that back in for someone else or sell it. Nothing else grabs me from the loot list.

Somehow I missed 3x skinlinks (nanopaste trodes: Brock, Oliie, Jenni) and 2x R5 analyze programs (Brock, Dalma). I also am a little unclear about Dalma's interface to her comlink. I think it is AR Gloves and imagelink, with nanopaste trodes for everyone else.

She has an Imagelink, but she interfaces with her commlink manually, I think I even included that in an IC post.

Since the characters are "living together" and since I have made references in IC post, you probably would have noticed she is not a big fan of electronics and is just straight unaware about a variety of aspects related to them.

Siren has regular trodes, but that is just a cosmetic difference.

A little "problem" is the listed software. I have those, but they are running on my current commlink (and since the software is legal, it cannot simply be copied to the other).

I guess it is best to acquire a suite of pirated programs for the new commlink.

I assumed to canbalize your current comlink to upgrade the response and signal and move the firewall from that com to your new one with the other software.

Availability for the programs is between 0 and 2 (AV 0 for common use programs and +1 for each program option), so the Data Search threshold is between 6 and 8 (AV + Rating).
