@Vegas - I need to whip together some verbage and locations for a bunch of the gang headquarters (at least, those that WR leaves open to me). Will it be a pain in the a** to add additional locations (HQs) to the turf-blowup maps? |
Actually, I'm fine with you doing writeups for all the gang HQs. Don't place them on the map, I will do that. But if you would post them on the Locales page with a *NEW* sign on them so I can easily find them, and on the gang writeups page as well for completeness, that would be awesome.
The only thing I would ask is you stick to what's already been written (e.g. The HQ of Raider Nation is called The Black Hole) but beyond that, the creative door is wide open for you.

@All - I'm going to be in and out of comms over the course of the next several weeks - at some point in the next month or so I'll be beginning to begin to move to the middle east. |
Will being in the Middle East affect your ability to play/post once you're there? I would certainly hate to lose you after you've already contributed so much to the game!

Modified the effects of your Moderate Claustraphobia. Please review it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
As you are also a Drug Tech, like Doc, I have skiped over your gear until I finish the drug rules.

Also, flesh out your Geas: Guesture. How exactly do you have to gesture to activate your magic? |
Changes made to lifestyle. 6 days low. Upgraded commlink OS.
Gesture geas is a specific series of flashy little knife moves/tricks.

I'm not sure, but rest assured that I, as well, would hate to lose me for many reasons, having contributed to the game being one of them.

I said 'beginning to begin to move' for a reason, though - it will be several months before I actually arrive in the land of endless sunny beaches. However, there will be numerous periods of RL stuff going on in the process, and I probably won't be able to give yall specific heads-up for all of them.
For example, in the course of the next two weeks I'll probably be able to post about once a day, but I'm not sure how much I'll achieve with respect to describing the respective other gang's headquarters.

Ah, well I'll keep in mind your periodic absences then, and adjust accordingly. Hopefully you won't be affected by this to the point where you're forced to drop out. I definitely don't want that scenario. Thanks for letting me know.
Don't worry about details on the other gang's HQs. It's probably best you only give general descriptions and thoughts anyway, since Bockscar shouldn't know TOO much about them.

If we decided to make additional tweaks to gear how do you want us to get "re-approval" and make it easiest for you... do like we've done in the past and say "I got rid of this and in it's place I took x, y, and z for the same costs"?
I'm already considering some tweaks to Nevada's gear before final game start.

Sorry, but another question popped into my head: What is the talisman that you have on your second Geas?

The versioning history is actually quite good. You can comment the one that is approved, then just before the game starts, or any time you need to, you can compare the current version versus the "approved" version and get all the difference, and who made them.

Grendel - Did you intend on doing darkness as a condition geas (per my question to Konsaki above), or time geas (i.e. nighttime)? We discussed this on the phone but I think it's relevant now.

I could be an ass and say that it would require full darkness, but I know that's unreasonable. Technicly, I would call darkness to be anytime that the 'Low Light' vision modifier was in play, unless he was the direct focus of some artificial light source (Spot Light on him).

It's nighttime that his magic is available. Sunset to sunrise. The physical act of the sun dipping below the horizon and not some arbitrary time. So during the summer his magic is available for a lesser time than during the winter. Talisman geas is covered under mechanics, it's a knife he made himself from something his father owned.

Combat sense and critical strike are tied to the talisman, improved ability only works at night, and kinesics and mystic armor to gesture.

@Konsaki: The bits I had for claustrophobia was most just trying to detail what sets off a panic attack. The mechanics you added just talk about the mechanical effect that the stimuli has. I just realized that as a dwarf some rooms probably appear larger to him than others so ceiling height shouldn't be a claustrophobic issue.
I guess the question is what sets it off at moderate. That is what would really determine if I want to keep it. Would working in a small room with a door and a window open trigger it? How about riding in a car with the windows up? How about in a small bar with no large windows? A large bar or club?
Would going to the window and sticking his head out count as escaping it? Perhaps stepping outside on a regular basis. What is the threshold for "ignoring" the claustrophobia?
Konsaki
Jun 6 2007, 09:17 PM
Too many people bunched up around you, like in the middle of a dance club dancefloor or a mob of people rushing to a wrecked food delivery truck
A room of around 5m square with the door and window closed. The window and/or door open will surfice to wave the composure check, but you still get the negative dicepool and feel nervous.
A car with the window rolled down is good, but if you are stuffed in the back with two other people in a sadan, you would have to roll a composure check.
These are just a few of the examples, too many to write out.
To 'Deal' with the fear, you have to only get 1 hit on a composure check. If something happens in your life that makes your fear get worse and jump to Servere; like getting tied up, thrown into a box and having people bang on the outside of the box for an extended period of time, your TN would get higher along with the situations being more extreem, like just being inside a bathroom stall with the stall door closed or something else.

@Winter: Sorry boss

Theo is Inks grandfather. He's in the people section of my background. (I don't have him as a Contact cause he's family) I would like to add him and Inks grandmother to NPCs but am unsure how to rate his connections. Basically Theo has Connection 2 or 3 except for his cousin Fernando who sends him Cuban cigars about once or twice a month (Fernando is in the Cariibbean League and there's my problem) Sorry to bug you, but I want to finish this before the game starts. (Okay very late for me, ability to type slowwly dropping off, must sleep)
WinterRat1
Jun 7 2007, 04:02 AM
Give both of them Connection 2.
From what you've said on the wiki, he's basically a local shopkeeper, roughly equivalent to a bartender. Having a cousin overseas who sends him cigars is reasonable, makes sense, and does not increase his Connection materially. Certainly not to a 4 just because he knows someone from out of town.
Note that this assumes he's not exactly into criminal activity (which I do not sense from your background). He just knows people because they come to his store. If he is involved with criminal stuff, it may change my assessment. Sound good?

Wiki GMs - I added one location in Bellevue just on the other side of the 405, across from the Side Street Rollers turf.
Per our earlier discussion, I would just lump that in the sector with the former Side Street Rollers turf. There's no need to create an entirely new section of the map for 1 location in Bellevue.

Can I get a clarification about skill caps. It says you can only have one skill rating 4 and the rest are capped at 3's including groups. Then it says you can specialize stuff up to 4 but if it goes higher then that you need extensive reasoning to explain it.
Does specializing in something and raising it to rating 4 count against the only one R4 skill cap? I notice alot of characters have more than one 4 in their skill section.
Whats the difference between having 5 specialized R4 skills and 5 R4 normal skills??

5 Specialized R4 is allowed, 5 R4 normal skills not allowed.
Materially it's not much difference except that the GM's will likely often force the non specialized general skills rolls every now and then, which will be at two less dice.
There weren't any restrictions on total pool caps, so it's actually possible to get up to 15 or 16 dice for particular rolls if you built the character right.

@ES Sparky/Badmarsh. Ok this is what I got from looking at your gear section.
12,498 of 12,500 used. All prices looked correct. Here are some questions though.
-Your shotgun has an internal magazine which means its the kind that you have to shove bullets into so I dont know why you baught clips for it?? Who knows how much a bandolier costs or how much it holds.
-Your pistal holds 30 rounds a clip and you have 150 rounds of various ammo. But if you count the clip the gun comes with and the 2 spare ones you baught you still need 2 more. Which ould be moved down from your shotgun?
-you skinlinked your contacts and glasses but what about your commlink??
@Lindt/ Child
28,775 / 30,000 used. ( 29,075/30,000 if corrected)
-your shotgun has a free shockpad and image scope. They are not in your gear list and would you want your scope to have any mods?
-your didnt take some of the common matrix programs??
-Your spur costs 1800, not 1500. If you correct it you get the number in parenthesis up above.
everything else looked correct so you have almost 1k extra to spend if you want.

B - I assumed the extra rounds not specified as in clips (or, now, bandoliers) are in boxes at the HQ. You don't have to buy rounds already clipped... do you?

A - I'll go with bandoliers, but they hold 20 shots. This is based off what real bandoliers hold in real life.
B - You can carry some spare ammo in a backpack if you like, but carry around too much and you might not like what happens if you get lit on fire. Also keep in mind how much you carry for weight. Try to keep it reasonable.
C - Your skin linking looks good right now. Just your eyes and ears to your commlink from what I see.
Will look deeper in a bit.
