I think you mean Gymnastics - Athletics is the group
Gymnastics:
15d6t5 4Also, here is the Molotov
MOLOTOV COCKTAIL
GRENADES DAM AP BLAST AVAIL COST NOTES
Molotov 8P –6 –4/m 6F 15¥ Fire damage (p. 171, SR5)
From No Future p.172
Regarding the pocket - I thought Rachel had described precisely where the pocket was?
What kind of coat is it? Does it look like it's been balistically treated?
Also, the car should be stationary at a red light. Or are you saying the driver is crazy enough to drive through the crossing traffic?
And finally, Bobby does have Observant, so Observe in Detail is a free action for him (and funnily enough it's the first time since I bought the quality that I'm actually using it)
Observe in Detail:

That's 19 hits on 41 dice. (And I won't even mention the double 6s on Raven's 2d6 initiative roll.) Dang, Thanee.
Thanks for the Molotov write-up, Jack. (I actually have No Future around here somewhere.) Ten of them is about twice as many as I was expecting, but that's wiz. Is there an obvious way to light them?
Gilga

Crazy/terrified enough to drive through the junction at a red light.
It is difficult to tell on the astral because she sees the aura of the living bacteria that coat the pocket but not the rest of the clothing. I disclosed clothing because I assumed Bobby would pass the athletic test to enter the car as it sped up through the junction.
@Tecumesh you can assume they have lighters, no Haloweener would be caught without a mean to start a fire.
Gilga
Mar 2 2023, 07:50 PM
@Jack, you'll still need an action to activate astral perception (which I think is a simple action).
For six hits you notice that there is a newly swan pocket in the skirt, you can either assume that it is the pocket or activate astral perception to verify it.
- The suit seems to be made out of ordinary fabric, and the undergarments are basically treated but she is not dressed for a gun fight.
At any case your flow would be either:
1. jump inside.
2. Identify the pocket with verification.
3. Take the card/Take the entire skirt. (doing it discreetly when she is firing her taser and the driver tries to shake you off is impossible).
4. jump out of the car.
Amazing that Bobby can get all that done in a single round, high initiative really pays off here.
Jack_Spade
Mar 2 2023, 08:25 PM
Yeah - depening if I can just rip the whole pocket/skirt away with a simple action I'd just do that and roll with it.
Gilga
Mar 2 2023, 09:44 PM
You can certainly try;
A successful unarmed attack subdue/clinch and then another complex action to grab it.

And Gilga had 17 hits on 28 dice! As I said, absolutely insane dice.

Too complicated. I'd have an easier time to just grapple her as a whole, jump out of the car and use her to cushion my fall.
Gilga
Mar 3 2023, 08:59 AM
your call.
It would put your car ride in four phases. 1. action to grab, one action to jump out of the car.
Jack_Spade
Mar 3 2023, 01:37 PM
Alright, Subduing attack to rip her coat away including the card. I just realized that she is likely buckled up, so getting her out of the car would be quite a bit harder.
Subduing Attack:

The card is on the skirt, where she'd feel fewer security people are going to thoroughly examine it.
Gilga
Mar 3 2023, 09:40 PM
Let's do a Gymnastics (3) to jump out and be somewhat movable, then reaction + edge to not be accidentally hit by a passing car.
Make it reaction + edge (2) if you fail the gymnastic test due to being longer in the middle of the road.
Other than that you are off the hook for now.
What I need is the following:
1. @Beta Does Tamarid keeps chasing on the van, or are you content with having the skirt?
2. @Thanee What happens with the spirit in the car - should we keep rolling that combat or what?
@Tecumesh - I haven't read Mato in a while, are you waiting on me for input?

I'd assume it uses an exponential backoff e.g. each failed attempt you need to wait double than you did the previous one. You can guess the obvious passwords.
Thanee
Mar 4 2023, 02:36 PM
Haha! Guess it wasn't so easy after all.
Anyways... that means the card might still be where it was before (with the gangers)?

Mar 5 2023, 06:10 AM
gilga, can you help me break down the IC scene a bit more please?
- The Crimson Crush have prisoners.
- The prisoners have confessed to working for Inferno.
- I don't remember any Inferno but that sounds like a Halloweener name. Is there someone I'm forgetting?
I'm not seeing how Halloweeners working for Inferno is much of a confession, or something that would cause hesitation and confusion. Am I overlooking something, or misunderstanding the situation?
Separately, about how far away from Tiny is Mato? I don't have a sense of good sense of scale here (or in real life in general).
Gilga
Mar 5 2023, 06:37 AM
The back story is:
1. Humanis has harassed Crimson Crush every time they left Redmond and even ambushed two of their members right in Touristville. (see the first post)
2. Big Stank made a counter-ambush, using the trip downtown as bait to Humanis. They chased him, and his fellow gangers ambushed them in Touristville.
3. While normally you would expect such a story to end with an execution or a ransom, working with Urubia provides access to sophisticated interrogation techniques. So the prisoners confess to being Halloweeners. (mind reading? interrogators that know how to question?)
4. Big Stank arrives at the building with his convoy with a representative of Urubia to deliver the new "justice."
Perhaps a plot to get the Crimson Crush weakened in a war with another gang or just a way to continue fighting them without consequences.
Now for the tactical situation, I envision a three-story rundown office building with a large balcony on the second story. The bottom floor is fortified by Crimson crush guards, and about 50 meters from them are a large number of Haloweeners, led by a Rager named Inferno.
- Inferno is new - a Rager like Carn-evil. I assume they have several of these.
If Mato needs a distraction, the arrival of Big Stank and his Crimson Guard representative is likely the best he'll get to act on the situation.

gilga, thanks for the backstory. I hadn't connected that the prisoners were the Humanis goons that had been captured earlier. It makes sense now why the prisoners confessed to being Halloweeners and why that's a bombshell.
Yes, there are several Ragers. Inferno sounds like a good name for one.
Here's a piece that's semi-canon by Opti that I leaned on when I was coming up with Halloweener plot points:

People who know more about the Matrix than I do: would this be a good opportunity to use Tag (Kill Code, p. 40) on the Flying Eye? My dice pool wouldn't be good, but it can be done with a commlink since the Limit is set by Data Processing.
TAG
(SIMPLE ACTION)
Marks required: None
Test: Computer + Logic [Data Processing] v.
Sleaze + Intuition
You track and analyze enemy movements in real
time, giving your allies the edge in engagement.
The hacker may “tag” a number of targets on a
single PAN, equal to their net hits, within their line
of sight. They can then relay those tags wirelessly to
allies. Tagging a target negates up to 2 dice in penalties
from Visibility and Light/Glare to any affected
ranged attack rolls allies may be making against that
target, including blind-fire due to invisibility or shooting
through cover. Allies who can see a tag may also
take one additional Take Aim Action against that target
as a Free Action on each Initiative Pass.
Tags may be sustained by spending a Simple
Action to refresh the tags each Combat Turn.
When using a PI-Tac, the hacker may add the PITac’s
level to the number of targets they may tag.
Note: In order for allies to receive this bonus, they
must have the ability to see AROs.

It is also very easy to do since the vast majority of devices have no sleaze property (most actions use firewall for defense).

====================
Gilga, my intent had been to have Tamarind track it with her drones, but I know I didn't go into the details in a timely manner. I'm going to throw in some roles below, but I'm entirely fine if your feeling is that it is too late for this.
perception - follow drone (limit 3):
11d6t5 1ha-ha, Orokos is saving you from having to make a decision, with that roll she lost visual track of the drone quickly.
Token tag attempt:
TAG:
9d6t5 2Good, Orokos makes it with consistent with the rest of the IC's.
So she would have kept the one drone that was with Mato following him, to know what he was up to and as back up, and also so that she can follow. Driving her van, she'll be lagging behind, not wanting to get in the middle of the bikes and not be as maneuverable. As she follows, she calls one of her delivery drones down from overwatch, to be close at hand just in case they want to send this thing away aerially.

Some questions around what's happening in the latest IC post, so that I understand it correctly and Mato can act accordingly.
- Is Tom (the biker) one of the cadets - who somehow got a big lead on the others - or is he unaffiliated? I wasn't sure if his bike is a bicycle (which would fit with their poverty) or a motorcycle (and thus part of the Halloweener pack).
- Per the spoiler, who would Mato be sneaking past?
- How long until the Halloweener pack of ten arrives? Does Mato have a moment to talk with Tom and the tween, or not really?
I have a good sense how Mato will respond but I want to make sure that his response makes sense with the IC situation.

- Tom is one of the Haloweener cadets.
- He does not have a big lead - on the contrary, he was left behind with his old scooter. You'll have like 5-10 minutes (Mato does not really know - and it would take a while to figure out that the drone changed course and try to triangulate where it is now going. I see it as a small soccer ball. Not trivial to track.
So there is some time for conversation, but likely not for a very long one.
- Interestingly, Mato found him so quickly because he focused on the ones lagging for easy takedowns.
- The sneaking comment was because Mato's original plan was to KO as many cadets as possible.
Tecumseh
Mar 10 2023, 05:19 PM
5-10 minutes is way more than I thought. I was thinking like 30-60 seconds.
Okay, if Mato has identified these two then he's going to have a short conversation with them before the larger pack arrives. I'll work on the IC post. Let me know if it misrepresents or misunderstands anything.
Mato will be walking a fine line of trying to simultaneously negotiate with them and intimidate them. He wants to bully them for their own good, if that makes sense. He'll be dialing his infrasonic generators up and down as he switches back and forth within his carrot-and-stick approach.
(I looked this up to see if this idiom is the same in other languages. It looks like a lot of western European languages use carrot-and-stick while central/ Eastern European languages often use sugar-and-whip instead, or some similar variation.)

Just out my curiosity - when Mato says he'll buy them a Sony what does he means? The Emperor is the Sony Emperor comlink the type that Urubia handed out like candies. Or at least this is why I made them so common.

I'm thinking of the two Sony Emperors that Mato took from the Halloweeners that he and Tamarind KO'd (to steal the Molotovs that I didn't use). I don't need them anymore and, if the Crimson Crush were finishing off the fallen, then their original owners don't need them either.
I would hand them over right now but I IC'd that Mato left them with Tamarind.
