Assensing test for the runner team: 1,2,3,5,7.

Empathic sense on the runner team: 1,1,5,10,11

Magic test to break any masking: 2,2,3,5,5,1,4,1,3,3,13,14. Hah! I break through that measly grade 5 initiates masking like tissue paper! Bwa ha ha ha! :firedevil:
spitfire gecko
What now? Initiative?

Oh yeah, and this is Cheesy, for those who can't already tell from the IC post.

I like the Greek alphabet a lot better than that shitty military jargon.  You are team beta.  Wanna march up to the roof and fight about it?  cyber.gif

    Roll to assense Terry:  1 3 3 3 4 5 5 10 11 11

Considering Terry is a Grade 6 Initiate with masking and you are a Grade 5 with masking...zero successes. Terry looks perfectly mundane, that is, if he's masking.

I previously stated I was ACTIVELY masking

Sorry, sorry. I tend to miss some stuff with so many of you. No offense.

Team B, go ahead and roll initiative and reaction.

Remember to count in your small unit tactics skill if you decide to use it and if this fight continues for over one round nyahnyah.gif
spitfire gecko
Er...aren't you doing initiative for everyone?
FXcalibur
Usually everyone rolls their own dice; that's how it was done in the previous forum games I played in, but of course if everyone comes to a consensus on letting the GM roll for everyone, then I'm game. I was under the impression people liked to roll their own dice.
spitfire gecko
Since you're already rolling initiative for Team A, I don't see any problem with doing it for Team B as well. Like Panzergeist said, it'll make combat go a lot faster, as you don't have to wait for everyone to log on and do a roll before starting combat.

Initiative is one of the few rolls in games around here that are usually done by the GM.
FXcalibur
Alright then, for the sake of speed. Anyone want to karmic reroll something is free to do so.

Fireteam Betavo Initiative Order
  • Reaper (Astral) 42 (Ast. Reaction 4 successes)
  • Kadel 27 (Reaction 11 successes)
  • Dwarf 27 (Reaction 6 successes)
  • Downtown 22 (Reaction 12 successes)
  • Dwarf Mage 21 (Reaction 7 successes)
  • Roland 12 (Reaction 7 successes)
  • Theodor 10 (Reaction 6 success)
Fu-Man Chu
Wooooohooooo!! Your dice REALLY like me!
FXcalibur
Too bad about the Astral Reaction though wink.gif

Surprise in SR is rather...clunky.
Fu-Man Chu
Wait a minute. . . ummm, I don't think Reaper's init can be that high - even with Astral init, the max is 47 . . . darn, that looked so cool too!
TinkerGnome
QUOTE (spitfire gecko)
Since you're already rolling initiative for Team A

Some of us, at least, rolled our own initiatlive in that last one wink.gif

I have no problem with the GM rolling it, though. Dice fall about the same, reguardless of who's doing it. The only real reason to have the PCs do it is to keep the GM from having to look up everyone's character sheet. That, and PCs rarely forget to give themselves positive modifiers that they're due (well, that's not a big deal for initiative wink.gif )
FXcalibur
Fubar on my part. Will be editing...

I realized I made quite a lot of mistakes, but I'm only human, so I hope you guys don't mind. I'm still doing my best to give you guys a great game smile.gif
spitfire gecko
By the way, TinkerGnome, I tried out that dice roller that you mentioned before. Good stuff...I never even noticed that it was packaged with NSRCG. Now I don't have to sign on to AIM for my electronic dice rolling. smile.gif
Panzergeist
I don't think the Gm should roll all dice; just the initiative. Helps speed things up. Having the GM roll actions doesn't work so well because he has to keep track of all your stats, and how many pool dice you are using, etc.

So, does the frequency Terry gave us work? Can we hear the terrorists' comm traffic?
FXcalibur
The Ork female didn't have time to activate the radio, so you're all safe. There are five frequencies stored in her radio, though all of them are unsorted and unlabeled frequencies.

And Terry pretty much breaks through any masking you've got on smile.gif Fella's on a roll.
Beast of Revolutions
I put 2 sorcery and 2 spell pool dice into spell defense for the group.
PBTHHHHT
From the IC thread. When I meant for y'all to Hold your fire... I mean Hold your actions of plastering the Dwarves until they.... well, make any hostile movements at y'all.

edit: yelling out to y'all 'hold your actions' just doesn't make as much sense as 'hold your fire'. ya know? nyahnyah.gif

Slash pockets the radio the orc had been reaching for, brings his pistols to the ready, walks down to the next doorway leading downstairs, shoves it open, and runs in.

Panzy (I know, it's unfortunate, but I shorten and as "Y" to most people's names sooner or later) if ya do that then Terry has no radio. He has his clothes, a Crimson Sky jacket, his gun, ammo and permits, a cell phone (I figure all cell frequencies are being jammed by the military to prevent news of a nuke from leaking out) and a knife.

That reminds me, did any of the terrorists have an assault rifle? If so, Terry would like to have it.
FXcalibur
Troll has an AK97 with 38 regular rounds and a bayonet and sling, as well as another fully loaded magazine with regular rounds.

Interrogation roll:

[ Spoiler ]
PBTHHHHT
Cool tactics sites for y'all to know, yes it's for airsoft, but it's close.
like how to navigate stairs.... eek.gif

Anyway, there's probably links and stuff in the forums previously talking about tactics and also probably better links out there on the web. but these are the first ones I found from a quick search. nyahnyah.gif

Tactics 1

movement tactics

general tactics and terms explaination

Team Bravo, I'm gonna be trying to make y'all use at least some of these. wink.gif
spitfire gecko
Sorry, but I flat out refuse to learn tactics from someone with no eyes, nose, or mouth. Your ears can only convey so much information in a combat situation.
PBTHHHHT
hehe. yeah, but he could be an adept who uses his astral sight.....

Oh, for some reason I had to laugh at your post where Kadel yells out to the dwarves. rotfl.gif
FXcalibur
Surprisingly, the mage is more tight-lipped during the interrogation than Pa is. Go ahead and ask your questions.
spitfire gecko
When did Kadel yell out to the dwarves? I thought that was your gig.
PBTHHHHT
well, not exactly yell out, it was your statement too them. k?
the glancing from them to the bound elven lady to the porno mag and back again. it almost looks like we ran into some sort of bizarre fetish crime thing. nyahnyah.gif

edit: though if it is what it looks like, then I'm shooting them on principle.
spitfire gecko
Kadel's just trying to give them a scare. The dwarves don't need to know that we eavesdropped on them and already know that the situation isn't really what it appears to be. wink.gif
FXcalibur
Shadow hasn't checked in for a few days. Is he alright?
PBTHHHHT
Yeah, i know Kadel knows, but I just wasn't expecting his statement/scare tactic on the dwarves. it's hilarious.
spitfire gecko
Just be careful not to crack a smile ICly, lest we tip our hand to them. wink.gif

Edit: Wow, I should really be asleep at this hour. Way too many grammatical errors cropping up in my posts. But screw it.
Fu-Man Chu
Reaper's actions in order after dropping any of his sustained spells.

[ Spoiler ]

Looks like Reaper's got Med stun that'll take 16 min to heal.
GreatChicken
Because I've checked out the digital map earlier before I bugged the room (discussed with GM), I know exactly where all the exits are and the general layout. If you guys want the weapons, it's not my speciality to fix 'em, sorry. sleepy.gif

Cool. Anyone object to Terry taking the assault rifle and ammo?
TinkerGnome
Axe doesn't object. I would like to find a quiet spot and make an astral recon, at least to the borders of the next wardings (if there are some). That'll give us an idea of what living beings are around as well as the general layout of the place.

So...gimme the rundown on Axe.
TinkerGnome
He's healthy, has a small amount of cyberware, he's awakened, and is in a generally tense mood. Empathicly, you sense that he's riding the razor edge of tension between fear and anticipation that people get going into combat.

If you want more, roll better wink.gif
FXcalibur
Sorry for the break, weekends tend to be slow and I didn't expect activity wink.gif

I'll get to maps and such so Teams A and B can move.
spitfire gecko
Still an unanswered question from the interrogation floating around, FX. Just a reminder. smile.gif
FXcalibur
I'm getting on it, I'm gettin' on it smile.gif

Whippersnappers these days...grumble...can't sleep past noon on sundays anymore...mumble mumble.
spitfire gecko
Sorry old man, I thought you missed it, since you still mentioned maps and moving on and whatnot. wink.gif
FXcalibur
What was supposed to be a quick update wasn't as I got dragged into some birthday I didn't give a damn about. Here we go.

Clicky for Fireteam Alpha

The top area is backstage where you guys fought. It's one of those three storey quaint performance theatres. Note the semi-circular things on the sides; two balconies per floor per side, for a total of four per side. Stairs lead up to the balconies from the side. Interestingly, the floor has no toilets wink.gif

Air duct from the top right/left backstage corner to level 2 staircase to balconies on the right/left. The middle are seats, all very red and very posh. Visibility no modifiers backstage or center stage, the rest is in low light conditions. The vents too.

Post your actions and I'll get to it.

BTW Terry, the AK isn't troll modded.
TinkerGnome
Given our good visibility, Axe will find a semi-screened spot and go astral. He'll give the floor a scan, looking for any people aside from the ones he knows about and wards. Any requests on up or down from there? At the least, he'll check the stairs up and down for wards (if he can get that far).
TinkerGnome
Were there wards across the stage area? Do we have access to that from here?
FXcalibur
As far as you can see, only those two doors are warded, so you could fly through the curtain or vents if you wish. Let me know where and how far you astrally travel.
last_of_the_great_mikeys
Looking mostly for strong personalities among the hostages...someone he can say "You're in charge" to...ya know, keep that group mentality from taking over.

Empathic Sense:1,5,9,10,21. I love my Red Dice of Doom!

Astral Perception: 1,1,3,4,8.

Psychology: 1,1,2,8,16.

Between all of that I should be able to figure out the strongest personality. If any are masking...

Break Masking: 1,5,1,2,2,3,3,5,2,7,10,23.
FXcalibur
That lady who talked to you is the bravest of the lot. None of them are awakened.
Panzergeist
Is the vent big enough for us to crawl through?
FXcalibur
Yep, it is.
PBTHHHHT
Roland's attempt to calm the shamaness:
street etiquette:
1: 5
2: 1
3: 6 + 5 = 11.

charisma:
1: 4
2: 3
3: 1
4: 6 + 5 = 11.

Plus, friendly face edge, -1 to TN, I hope.
Beast of Revolutions
Athletics to get up to the vent, with a boost from Axe: 2 4 5
Stealth to crawl through the vent quietly: 3 4 5
