QUOTE (Kagetenshi @ Sep 1 2005, 08:40 AM)
QUOTE (Bull @ Sep 1 2005, 02:09 AM)
It's poorly worded, but possibly not wholly incorrect.  An indivicual character can only ever have 12 attributes since Resonance and Magic are mutually exclusive.

Not true—the quote addresses the number of attributes "in Shadowrun", not per character.

~J

"Characters in Shadowrun have up to 12 attributes."

Now bring in someone to edit that, but first have them pull an 95 hour week. Then watch it change to become incorrect.

thats an incorrect statement? are we talking gramattically, or SR'ly?

I'm reading it as that, a character in shadowrun, may have up to 12 attributes, not, in shadowrun, there ARE 12 attributes...
Fortune
Once again, the exact wording is ...

QUOTE ("Page 60")
There are twelve attributes in Shadowrun, though each character has just ten or sometimes eleven. There are four Physical attributes, four Mental attributes, and five Special attributes.
blakkie
NM, i just read the whole paragraph. Somebody just flat out humped the math. And it needs to be fixed in three spots, not just one:

There are twelve attributes in Shadowrun, though each
character has just ten or sometimes eleven.

EDIT: wobble.gif I see that now Fortune, i missed that part of hansoo's where it was mentioned.
Doomclown
Maybe just my opinion, but I'm curious why the attribute table in character creation lists racial min/max values for Initiative instead of Edge, since the former is a derived attribute. I think a column for Edge would be more helpful.
Triggerz
Page 337, spurs are listed with a reach of 1, which seems strange on its own, but stranger still when you see that forearm snap-blades still have a reach of 0. (Sorry if it's already been mentioned. I didn't have time to read the whole thread carefully.)
Rotbart van Dainig
The Ultrasound sensor implant is listed on p. 331 under Headware - shouldn't it be listed on p. 332 under Eyeware?

And likewise, shouldn't Protective Covers on p. 332 only be listed once, rather than twice, under Eyeware and Cosmetics?
Shadow
Fanpro is going to revise the book before they print it right? This is a crap load of errors.
RunnerPaul
I don't work for FanPro, but I'd hazard a guess to say it's too late to revise the first print run. The next print run will incorporate the errata that FanPro has identified up to that point. However, the PDFs don't have to wait on the constraints of print runs, and already incorporate the errata that they've identified.

They were selling books at GenCon. Not just the LE, but standard ones as well.

5. Damage Resistance Test
... If the DV is reduce to 0 or less, no damage is inflicted.
Cochise
This is more like a question than actual Errata stuff:

QUOTE (p. 149 SR4)
Too much armor, however,
can slow a character down. If either of a character’s armor ratings
exceeds his Body x 2, apply a –1 modifier to Agility and Reaction for every 2 points (or fraction thereof ) that his Body is exceeded. Note that this may affect
Initiative as well. If a character is wearing multiple armor items,
add their ratings together before comparing to Body.

This would mean that a camo suit imposes a -3 (or possibily even more since the negative mod is calculated once "either" armor type exceeds bod*2 which could be interpreted as 8-3 = 5 and 6-3 = 3 .. a total of 8 Points, that can lead to -4 or -5 *see below*) on Agility on a bod 3 person. Could it be that it has to be for every 2 points (or fraction thereof) that his body*2 is exceeded?

And while we're at it: What about a (sofar hypthetical) 5/5 armor on a bod 2 person? - 4 or -3 (i.e. Are those points above body simply added *here 6 points* or are the negative modifiers calculated independantly)?

As far as I can tell.

Page 136 says you can only take 1 Long Burst per Action phase.
Page 144 says you can only take 1 Long Burst per Action phase.
Page 140's chart gives you recoil modifier for a second Long Burst per Action phase (Unless of course I'm completely wrong about how Recoil works).
hahnsoo
Not an error. You CAN only fire one Long Burst in an action phase. However, you can choose to fire it as your first Simple Action or as your second Simple Action. The recoil modifiers shown only deal with whichever action you decide to use your long burst, and is cumulative with the previous shot. In effect, recoil is counted as (Bullets fired so far in the Action Phase - 1).

Table on page 145, entry for Bow: info needs to be shifted to the right.
Spookymonster
Concealability table, p.302:
Machine pistols are less concealable than heavy pistols?
Swords and katana have different ratings?
Clubs and stun batons have different ratings?
Bows and shotguns are missing?

doomclaw, those aren't typos....

Thats the WoTC "gender dis-identification" program, instituted to be politically correct, and to confuse players... please, carry on citizen
Doomclown
Gender confusion and poor grammar are not politically correct.

What's next, "sie" and "hir"?

~J
Sabosect
Nope. It's "shi" and "hir", and there's a third one I don't pretend to remember.

I know someone who plays a chakat on Furcadia and decided to explain it to me. I'll never look at centaurs the same way again.

Those two are definitely in there. The entire effort is a sorry fragmented mess, so I don't doubt that your version is correct as well (to the degree that any of it is).

Xie is another version.

Errata for the PDF:

Page 189:
Only characters with the Magician, Adept or Magical Adept
qualities may initiate.

In the errata for the print copy this was given as Mystic Adept, which i believe is the correct term.

p. 212: Signal (Hardware) Implanted cyberware may be limited to a Signal of 1 or 2

vs

multiple CyberCommlinks on sample characters/goons featuring a signal around 3-5.

while

p. 341 Rigger Adaptation: When added to a vehicle, this “black box” allows a character with a control rig (see p. 331) to rig the vehicle (see Rigging and Drones, p. 238), either through a direct fiberoptic cable or wireless link.

seems odd alltogether.
Elve
Why does the cyberware vision maginfication still have rating? All other places (combat rules, extern system) assume just one Rating (the maximum, since range is always reduced to short)
Rotbart van Dainig
It doesn't - thats the enhancement, not the magnification.
Elve
Ok sorry...
Already read it twice and still got it wrong smile.gif

Another point... Hopefully correct this time...

Is platlet Factory bioware supposed to work against physical and stun damage?
It is worded this way, but seems wrong.. smile.gif
Nikoli
From page 211 to 212 (PDF) there seems to be some missing text as the paragraphs do not overlap in content.
Cochise
p. 208 lacks the errata that is already given for p. 230:

The defending icon rolls Response + Firewall, not Response
+ Stealth.

and

p. 204 physical Barrier

The caster can also form a wall with a height and
length equal to the caster’s Force.

... should be spell's Force I guess ...
Rotbart van Dainig
p. 330 The rating of the nanopaste disguise adds to the dice pool for Disguise Tests.

..except there is no rating range given in the table, nor do the costs depend on a rating...
Doomclown
QUOTE ("Page 229")

Should be "possible".
Rotbart van Dainig
p. 339 Platelet Factories: Any time the user suffers 2 or more points of damage, the damage is instantly reduced by one point.

Are the now really affecting both condition monitors?
Cochise
p. 237 Matrix signatures:

This Matrix astral signature is a digital “fingerprint”
of the technomancer or sprite that created it.

I guess that word should be removed from the sentence
Kremlin KOA
oooooh want to see what platelet factories will do when added to trauma dampner if the latter comes out in arsenal
Rotbart van Dainig
My initial guess would be, they were rolled in one, as were many implants (keep in mind that Trauma dampener was quite broken when considering such things as fatigue, drowning, etc.) - but then again, it could be just plain wrong.

p 276 Renraku Red Samurai:
What would a Medium Security Armor be? Should read Full Body Armor with Helmet or something...

Same stuff for Tir Ghosts:
What is the Form Fitting Body Armor? Should perhaps be the Chameleon Suite (ragarding the Ghosts in Corp Punishment)

Medium Security Armor and Form Fitting Body Armor are equipment names from SR3, they must have snuck in there somehow.
hahnsoo
Spirits all seem to have their Reaction multiplied by some number (2 to 4). This makes them immensely overpowered in combat, making them almost impossible to hit and faster than anything that could ever be created. In many cases, the spirits get a HIGHER initiative while manifested than while astral-only. Is this correct? Or should the Reaction bonus be an added number rather than a multiplier.
Pandamoanyum
Just a typo that could use a split.

Motion Sensor: This sensor uses ultrasound to detect
drastic changes in the ambient temperature caused by movement.
See p. 254.

*erm* I can see Motion Sensor based on ultrasound to detect changes in echo behaviour. I can also see Motion Sensors that try to make motion detaection through thermography ... But i can't see Ultrasound as being able to detect drastic changes in ambient temperatures through movement. Temperature might alter the speed of sound, but not in that excessive ...

2 typos.

It was mentioned when the preview pdf came out but the weapon specialist still has a "Walter MA-2100".
