Sicarius
I'm sorry. as I re-read it that was confusing. Three guards get out of the van, and three guards get back in the van and drive off.
pragma
Away from computer until Saturday.
Sicarius
Is there anything I can do to keep this game moving and alive? I don't know how to advance the storyline without leaving you guys ultimately unprepared, or doing a complete plot hole thing (attacking Ninjas from space or something)

thoughts?
Mister Juan
Well, I'm pretty sure Glyph and I are still into it nyahnyah.gif And come on Sic, we can let the only (are we?) SR3 game left on the boards die biggrin.gif
Sicarius
seriously. I have a stack of characters as long as my arm waiting to join a game, that's why I posted on the Shadowrun board about the SR3 love. I know Pragma is gone till saturday, and I haven't seen BrianL03. So far as I know you guys are hammering out a plan. You might consider legwork, calling contacts, or physically surveying the DSI building. that would get some life into it.
Tashio
Sorry things are crazy atm, prelim papers are being writen and I've been dumped with a ton of marking that should have been done months ago and its become my problem. One of my other games I've had half a post waiting to be finished for the last 3 days smile.gif trying to keep up as best I can.
Glyph
Planning always seems to hang things up in play-by-post games, with combat being more straightforward and roleplaying or narrative posts flowing more smoothly. We should get though it soon, though, as long as we don't make it over-complicated.

Caitlin will probably contact Wilder, to do some more digging on Dassurn, especially the procedures for their security vans and their cargoes. She will talk to Spindler about getting some gear such as paint grenades, slick spray, etc. She knows that for the most part, she will be limited to his stock on hand, but on the other hand he could have something useful that she has not heard of before. She will have an open mind at this point, but will lean towards low-budget solutions.

Let me know if you need any rolls from me, such as perception, etiquette, leadership (tactics), etc.
Sicarius
Glyph, hit me with an etiquette street test for Wilder. and an Etiquette and Negotiations test for Spindler.
Mister Juan
@ Sicarius
Quick questions:
-Is the van's front windshield tinted? Can we see in any of the windows?
-Is the rear door single or double? How "thick" does it seem?
-What sort of van is it? What maker/model?
-Is the motor in front or in back?
-What weapons are the security team sporting?

Mister Juan
Here is what George will try to get a hand on. He's looking for many items, and does not intend to purchase quite everything. It's mainly that a lot of these items have either a high price, or high availibility, and so, he's just trying to maximize his findings. He'll also call different contacts for the same items, just to get different "price quote" nyahnyah.gif

So, here's the list (contacts, with gear asked for)

-Jaxon
Defiance T-250 (shotgun) 3/24hrs
20 Shock Lock Shells 5/48hrs
Ingram Valiant 6/5days
200 regular rounds of belted ammunition
Bipod
Gas Mask
1 External Smartlink
1 Range Finder

-Miron
Ingram Valiant 6/5days
200 regular rounds of belted ammunition
Bipod
M79B1 LAW 6/36hrs
Defiance T-250 (shotgun) 3/24hrs
20 Shock Lock Shells 5/48hrs
Gas Mask
1 External Smartlink
1 Range Finder
As many AV Rounds as possible (at least 50) 16/2wks
50 APDS Rounds 14/14days
50 Capsule Rounds with some high grade acide in it (read: enough to melt reinforced glass) 4/48hrs
2 sets of Police grade road spikestrips

-Jack Hummins
Ingram Valiant 6/5days
200 regular rounds of belted ammunition
Bipod
M79B1 LAW 6/36hrs
Defiance T-250 (shotgun) 3/24hrs
20 Shock Lock Shells 5/48hrs
Gas Mask
1 External Smartlink
1 Range Finder
As many AV Rounds as possible (at least 50)
50 APDS Rounds
50 Capsule Rounds with some high grade acide in it (read: enough to melt reinforced glass)
2 sets of Police grade road spikestrips

So, how do we go about this? Would you like me to roll Etiquette for each item on each seperate lists? (I don't mind doing it)
Glyph

All windows are heavily tinted.
The rear door is two doors.
It is a GMC Bulldog Security variant, but has been modified.
The engine appears to be in the front.
They appear to be carrying M-22 AR sporting modifications, including underbarrelled grenad launchers.

I'm back, sorry I didn't post yesterday -- I as absolutely wiped out (kayaking does that to you)

Cortex, when I'm through with IC will be looking for the following information in the following order of priority.
  • Location and number of streetlights and gridguide sensors along the route
  • Electrical design for stoplights
  • Interior design of the van -- specifically (1) can people travel from the cab to the vault? (2) Is there an enviroseal and if so how does it work (number of chambers, how its secured and accessed, etc.)
  • Is the van wired for a rigger to drive?
  • Are there murder holes or other access points to teh interior of the van?

Some possibly pertinent rolls.

Etiquette: talking to spinner -- 8 3 5 2
Etiquette: matrix searching for information from van and streetlight manufacturers ( and less legit sources ) -- 4 2 1 4
Electronics Background: knowing things -- 4 4 4 3 5 2 3
Security systems: also knowing things -- 11 4 7 2 3
Security procedures: also also knowing things -- 14 5 1 10 2
Sicarius
I will await Markus' actions for the next two days than try to post a big round up of actions to represent what sort of progress you're making. I would love to wait for Russ' actions too, but I'm not holding my breath. If he posts before Markus does great, if not, than his character may just come down with a case of the hersey squirts and be unable to act for the next two days.
Mister Juan
Here's a list of all the rolls needed. I spoilered it simply to avoid having one huge post.
The number of successes are in parenthesis. I've simply erased the things I didn't roll any sucesses on

-Jaxon

-Miron

-Jack Hummins

Sicarius
Okay. New Post up handling some of the legwork.

Cortex, George and Markus each get 2 karma for Rping, and sticking with us.

Caitlin gets 3 karma for Rping, Sticking with us, and advancing gameplay.

edit: forgot to add Markus. Sorry bout that.
Tashio
Hey sorry, lost my line for a couple days. *mutters* Back in action will post shortly.

Roll for Information:
Etiquette: 1 2 8
Supplimentary Negotiation : 1 2 3 5

Roll for Light/Medium Security Armor:
Etiquette: 4 7 13
Supplimentary Negotiation: 2 5 5 5

Roll for APDS/AV Ammo
Etiquette : 1 4 9
Supplimentary Negotiation : 1 2 4 9

(Depdning on reply to PM. I might make a call to Andrew at Microdeck and see if they might be able to supply some goods/information)

Sicarius
Hey Juan, roll negotiation for the cost of whatever items you choose to buy, when you post. (Tashio and Glyph prices for goods already included)
pragma
During the traffic light reconnoiter I am specifically looking for sets of traffic lights that make natural bottlenecks; places where there are no turns off of the street between the two. Ideally sets of these which are far away from any Lonestar or especially Dassurn response teams.
Sicarius
sure. Pragma give me a perception test for the search for traffic lights.

GM Only (Please Don't Read I am storing Data here)
[ Spoiler ]
pragma
Perception: dice = 9 || target = ? :: 5 8 3 19 1 1 5 1 3

Bear in mind the perceptive edge.
Mister Juan
Hey guys!
I'm very sorry for the delay but I had an unfortunate little incident with my right lung which landed me in the hospital for the past 3 days. I'm currently posting from a laptop, which my father was nice enough to borrow from his work place. I'm still rather whoozy from all the stuff they're pumping in me so this message might end up making little sense I've been told that, if everything stays well during the weekend, I should be able to get back home either sunday night or monday morning. Anyways, thats pretty much all of it.
Sicarius
shoot man. get well soon!
pragma
When I get up I'd like to start designing devices to remotely control traffic lights and spoof grid guide signals.

Rolling Electronics B/R + Task Pool: dice = 9 || target = ? :: 1 2 5 5 7 1 3 9 2

Bear in mind microscope eyes which technically give me a -2 to electronics B/R tests, but which may not apply here.
Sicarius
@ Pragma. Target number is 7 -2 for the microscope eyes, -1 for having the technical specs chipped, for a total of 4 successes. Task time will be 6 hours.
pragma
I am going to be bogged down with school in the forseeable future so posting may slow down some. I should still be keeping up with the game, but I figured a warning would be worthwhile.

On another note -- the information Greg enclosed in his message is included in one of Sicarius' spoilers (the one after the IC walk through Bellevue). I don't know whether it is more appropriate for the players to read that or for Sicarius to repost the appropriate data.
Sicarius
That occurred to me after I did it. The spoilers are generally to keep things compact, and while it does say "only" it isn't game breaking for you to read them. If I really don't want you to read something, I put a spoiler in the spoiler, with a second warning.
Sicarius
Juan? didn't you already ask the Guardsmen contact for belt ammo and the roll didn't work out? or are you asking for something seperate? (for a different weapon) I haven't posted for you cause i was confused.
Mister Juan
I actually completely forgot to roll/ask him at first for it. It just kinda seemed silly afterwards not to ask him since of all of George's contact, he'd be the one with access to insane amount of ammo wink.gif
Mister Juan
George will actually spend part of his morning buy stuff for the future “baby room”. Being on a bike, he’ll have everything deliver to the apartment wink.gif As Jaxon told him last night, he’ll swing by the gang HQ at around noon. Once he’s out of there, he’ll give Jack a call to pick up the rest of the gear. He’ll then check up on Miron to see how the gear acquisition if going on.

As for the carried gear for the day:
[ Spoiler ]

Mister Juan
I just realized something: this game is almost a year old indifferent.gif
Sicarius
How many games on this board can say that?!
Sicarius
Am I missing anything? or are we clear to Time Advance to the morning of your meet at Matchsticks?
Mister Juan

Well, do you want to RP the exchange of goods/money between George, Jaxon and Jack? I mean, George will surely try to negotiate the price down... or maybe gear for his services as a gun for hire.
Glyph
Caitlin will also take up Cortex's offer to take a preliminary look at the sites. It can be skimmed over if you want to skip ahead to the meet, though.
Sicarius
oh no, I don't want to rush through the meets for the gear (or the examination of the sites) please roleplays those. does every one have something their character is doing? Cortex is going with caitlin to the sites, then caitlin is picking up the splash grenades. George is meeting Jaxon, Miron and Jack for his gear, and Markus is... actually where the hell is Markus? I think we were waiting for him to decide on getting security armor or not, and to possibly call contacts in the corp world.
Don't wait, please post ahead. We will time stamp Markus to indicate that he is a day behind on his next post.
Tashio
Apologies for timeout, primary HD crashed taking all my data with it, and my backup has gone MIA in my move.
pragma
Two points --

1) My computer is a bit out of sorts at the moment. Posting is going to slow down until probably about Tuesday.

2) Since the meeting with Caitlin is tomorrow I'd like Cortex to do some subtle testing of the traffic manipulator device and get some practice with controlling the flow of traffic and position of individual cars. If possible I'd like to do so in a different part of the city with the same model of traffic lights and grid guide. If not, I'd like to do so in the most remote reach of Bellevue that's still part of the district.

Let me know if any rolls are needed or if IC is the proper next step.
Mister Juan
@Sicarius
Just wondering if you wanted me to open the meeting with Jaxon, or are you doing it? Also, are we rping each meet seperatly, or just one long summary with a bunch of negotiation rolls thrown in OOC?
Sicarius
I don't mind either way. if you want to just roll the negotiation numbers out of character and than plug the numbers in that's okay, or we can roleplay it out. I leave it to you guys.
Mister Juan
Well, here's are the three bargaining rolls for each meet.
With Jaxon: 08 04 01
With Miron: 05 02 01
With Hummins: 10 04 03

I'm not totaly sure how that modifies the prices of each articles... Depending on how much each "packages" will cost, George might offer both cash and professional services (especially to Jaxon).
Sicarius
I'm sorry things have been slow. These negotiation numbers bog me down. I hope to have a post over the weekend getting everybody rolling.

Again. Apologies. Don't anyone go anywhere, this game remains ON!
Sicarius
Glyph, Pragma feel free to roleplay out your interaction as much as you feel like, I'll step in if you need a description of a scene and to time sync you with Juan and Tashio's characters when the time comes.
Mister Juan
@Sicarius
Mate, are you sure those numbers are good for the exchange with Jaxon? I was checking up the numbers, multiplying the prices per street index when I was doing my first list, and I was about 1.5grand lower than the asked price wink.gif I just want to double check.... because George isn't going to be 4.5 for a shotgun, some bullets and 2 weapon accessories wink.gif
Sicarius
I'll recheck, but I used a calculator, so iff'n i screwed up that's even more sad. check this post for an edit with results.

edit: 2150 nuyen.gif for a shotgun, smartlink, rangefinder,200 regular rounds, 20 shockloc rounds, and a gas mask.

I apparently gave you a price for 2000 rounds of regular ammo.

This is why I warn folks to double check me. because I am a certified moron. biggrin.gif

Mister Juan
Hey mate, thats quite alright! The sort of thing I goof up all the time wink.gif
Sicarius
Is anyone waiting on me?
Mister Juan
Well, George still has to meet with Miron and Jack.
pragma
I'm posting up to Matchstick's because I'm pretty conviced that Cortex has used all of the two day period. If I have to edit it for continuity, let me know.

Roll for building some sort of camera disabler (I was thinking a replacement data wire held in place by an electromagnet which can be severed with a radio signal)

Electronics Background: dice = 7 || target = ? :: 4 5 2 3 3 3 10
Electronics B/R and task pool: dice = 9 || target = ? :: 3 1 5 5 1 3 15 1 3
Bear in mind microscope eyes and schematics
Sicarius
Right Juan. I thought you were going to open those similar to the way you did with Jaxon. But you don't have to. I can open them if you want me to.
