Oh, yeah! I forgot I already had the spell! It's been a long time since I made my character. Doh!
Well, whatever. Steal the stuff. Or don't worry about trying to get it. It doesn't matter to me.

Anyone with Magical Threats, Spirit Lore, or a high Magic Background skill will realize that it is probably some form of Free Spirit possessing the body, or perhaps a Master Shedim.
This is one of the myriad reasons that Astral Magnets can be dangerous...just not this time...

McQ has graciously given me the okay to resume playing Jester. I apologize for my absence but as we all know, life has a way of taking precedence. Expect a post from me soon.

Welcome back, we're still down two players but let's get this thread back on the move.
The Fool is going to get the introductions made for Trixie, but that still leaves the question about how you guys were funding your equipment purchases. There was a roll thrown out for Data brokerage, but I still need to know if you wanted to go slow and steady or one big payoff.
Ecclesiastes
Mar 23 2005, 11:55 PM
How about a good midway between the two. Not too slow, but not too dangerous.

What's a shedim?
And welcome back, Shadow!
Ecclesiastes
Mar 24 2005, 02:57 AM
Astral Magnet is an option in the new Lifestyle rules. You can have your house be an Astral Magnet and all kinds of weird stuff will happen there.
Shedim are evil spirits that possess dead bodies and turn them into a zombie of sorts. Very powerful, regeneration, keeps the memories of the dead person... nasty stuff.
BishopMcQ
Mar 24 2005, 03:07 AM
AStral Magnet is a flaw you can add to your lifestyle, it makes life very interesting for the awakened and mundane alike--basically your house for some reason draws spirits and projecting mages to it. Reference SSG
Shedim are spirits that came across with Ghostwalker, though some were here before then. They can possess the living and the dead and have a dark agenda that no one is quite sure of. Reference YotC

I did a Data Brokerage roll for Trixie, she'll come up with something as soon as McQ tells me what it is.

Ecc--If you want a large cut of the pie, but you have to take it in 3-4 pieces, the best case scenario would be to hit a corp and dig up some juicy blackmail material out of personnel files and personal journals or Shadowland generally has info wanted postings....

Lets hit up Renraku, scour it for Paydata, then dig up stuff on the BTLs that All-Father is using. Two birds, one stone.

Thanks

Donovan has a modified Magic attribute of 14, for reference on the ward.
Do we need to roll anything?
What is the Force we are trying for?
BishopMcQ
Mar 30 2005, 04:41 AM
You need to roll Magic against the force of the ward that you are trying to create...I presume a force 6 ward since that is what was mentioned in ther IC thread.

You only need one success so you're good.
Ecc--Can I get a computer roll from you to access the Renraku system...Also did you want to try and uyse a backdoor--logging in through a public system and then data hopping or just kick in the front door so to speak?

How long till Fenris and Buddha are back? I wanted to talk to Jack about it and see what he thought. Does he have a Validate program?
As far as accessing the host goes, the backdoor is always the best way to go about things, so lets shoot for that for now, just to get us on the host so we can start to analyze it.
Computer + Hacking Pool: 17 10 08 07 05 04 04 04 04 03 03 03 03 02 02 01

Nice. I just looked it up and Validate is a Controll Test, which I have a Channel of 8 in, that'll come in handy.

Okay the quick and dirty Matrix layout.
You are looking at a tiered host, the section that holds the personnel files is behind several chokepoints.
